Hopefully only a matter of time now and the rest of the world will follow. Once they see the sky wont fall and all the money that was other wise lost to the criminal element. can now be harnessed for the greater good of all and all the legit job creations its a no brainer

Cybrguy, we don't unfortunately pick leaders for competence or intelligence. Anyone smart enough to take over the world is also smart enough to look at the crap they'd have to deal with running it, then say 'nah' and go vape some weed instead

OK, whose having the party? @Squiby ? @lazylathe ? Come on, y'all, we gotta partaaay!!!

I am very pleased with this outcome :tup::clap: and the possibility of another retail sale opportunity; we have 420 sales, 710 sales and maybe now 1017 sales, the day Canada went legal.

And though I'm looking forward to the negative stigma of cannabis hopefully vaporizing (pin intended) away before our eyes, my life won't really change at all. I'll continue to grow my garden in my secluded place in the forest along with my other herbs and veggies. Hopefully seed prices will come down a bit. Why should a tomato seed cost more than a lovely cannabis variety? The now ubiquitous tomato was once regarded as a poison.

Yay Canada! You look more and more inviting each week. Please don't build a wall.
...The now ubiquitous tomato was once regarded as a poison.
Being in the nightshade family, I thought it still was, you'd just have to in-jest large quantities for it to hurt you. I believe the leaves and stems are toxic, but being I'm not a plantologist, I'm not really sure:).

Much scarier though, in the late 70's there were reports of tomatoes killing people en masse. "A series of attacks perpetrated by tomatoes occurs (including a man dying by drinking tomato juice made from a killer tomato, a boy heard being gobbled up by a killer tomato,.."

I was just reading about bill c 46 that goes along with bill c 45 . it aparently gives police new powers to test anyone they please that is driving for drugs and alcohol .

Along with that comes new laws for first time offence max penalties of 5 to 10 years . the limit is 5 nano grams .

I have read that if you use cannabis daily that you could have levels this high and higher even if you didnt use for a day or two .

Hows that gonna work ? Guess we are gonna need more jails for when it becomes legal

They are working on a tool to test us similar to an alcohol breathalyzer. Since it will work on breath, it will be for users that have used in the last 3 to 4 hours.

Heres a link about the new changes not the video , its more about youth read the article underneath

https://globalnews.ca/news/4288130/canada-impaired-driving-police-powers-random-tests/amp/

I hope your right lazylathe , im not sure how a breath test would work though because how it works with alcohol its actuly measuring whats in the blood . which is were the problem is when checking for cannabis . i read there working on a saliva test for what your taking about which might work better for being able to tell if someone has used in the past few hours . what we dont want or at least anyone who uses on a regular basis dosnt want is a blood check weather breath or blood draw because this will be a problem .

Im thinking maybe what they should be working on is something like this

https://www.google.ca/amp/s/gizmodo...toned-an-app-that-aims-to-answ-1825476496/amp

A better verison of something like this could be the future of testing someones imparment better then setting arbitrary blood levels . this would be a better way to check for imparment i would think if they can fine tune it .
Maybe a test you take on a laptop in the cruiser on the side of the road .

lazylathe , if someone is not a everyday user and smokes a joint there blood concentration of thc goes way up to like over a 100 nanograms as it does with everyday users right after they smoke too.

the difference is the person that is not a regular user levels drops down to below the set limits of 2 or 5 nanograms in a few hours .

but if you use everyday for a long time like many of us here, med users as well as rec users . there levels can stay above this level even days after last use .

what i gather from reading and watching the video you linked is this is a new tool designed for police to use at the seen of an accident.

because if someone is impaired by the time they draw blood enough time could have elapsed , and there levels will have dropped down to non impaired levels of less then 2 or 5 nanograms or whatever the level is .

the testing of the breath at the seen makes sure that if that person was over the limit at the time of the accident , they dont get away with it because of the lag time of the blood being drawn and the actual accedient . because there blood levels could return to normal by the time the blood is drawn .

This would work all fine and dandy if the person only smokes occasionaly but what if you are a daily user after work say , you smoke some everyday but not untill you are home and relaxing .

If you do this all the time for weeks months or years your baseline thc levels could be over the limit even if you are not impaired .

So imagine the situation were you get in an accident perhaps not even your fault. And your over . you havnt even had any that day . your fucked lol

The artical and video does say that the device is designed to detect resent use yes , but this is like i mentioned because non regular users levels quickly return to normal levels and they need faster detection as is for the short window of time needed to covict them .

This device wasnt made to differentiate between if the person is a regular user and maybe there base line is always more then the. set limits . it is only for faster detection at the seen . the issue of what im talking about still stands as far as i can make out

@chris 71

That has been my question since the beginning legalization.
There needs to be a difference between rec and med users, otherwise it is pointless.
Unfortunately the power that be, have no clue about this and don't really give a shit about it... They see all use as the same, impaired.

I am not sure about taking blood and the rules that govern it but I know I am not giving them any of mine at the roadside.

The laws they have just passed make all users equal, too me that means we are screwed...

What Canadian marijuana legalization looks like: Mail-order pot and government-set prices
https://www.burlingtonfreepress.com...-marijuana-legalization-looks-like/721723002/
Mail-order weed? You betcha!

With marijuana legalization across Canada on the horizon, the industry is shaping up to look different from the way it does in nine U.S. states that have legalized adult recreational use of the drug. Age limits, government involvement in distribution and sales, and access to banking are some big discrepancies.

And yes, Canadians will be able to order cannabis online and have it delivered through the mail — something that's illegal in the United States.

Given the roadside THC testing amendments, keeping tolerance as low as possible should be a good goal to aspire to. I imagine that if I am able to keep my consumption down, less cannabinoids will be in my system at any time.

Will it be possible to microdose throughout the day and stay under the 2ng radar?
