Dynavap has since changed the Omni specs so that they do fully close.
Nice to know. :tup:I was put off getting a gold Omni as I like to fully restrict my M18 and thought I couldn`t with the Omni. :bang:
I also did not bother with the gold as the video on doing it all yourself looked easy and to take back to standard also looked easy, nothing said about how bad the Whink is (probably not even available here in Oz).:bang:
Oh well, my wallet has some room left now to get a log

Not always, older models of Omni did not fully close off the airport. Even when the tube was backed out of the threads it would still leak air. So I actually removed 1.2mm from the normal length of stems and bodies to allow it to fully close. Dynavap has since changed the Omni specs so that they do fully close.
Perhaps, I have an Omni and Omni xl condenser from 420 this year that doesn’t close off the air dilution. I asked about this and I was told it’s not suppose to. In any case it took some getting use to but I don’t mind the dilution so much anymore, I just think of the omni’s as my more open vapcaps and if I want the carb fully closed I grab something else

Huh. Interesting because I could have sworn that there were some changes made at some point? I could be wrong

Is that the same as PHOSPHORIC ACID?

As said, not at all. [that's why the different names!]

fwiw, I had a busy anodize shop in San Diego a lifetime or two ago [inc. a vat or two of hydrofluoric for prepping, stripping, and redoing parts, etc.]

Which means this Boomer raises his hand and cops to 'geezer'

How wrong I was. There seems to be geezers among us, the polite word is, “Senior”, I believe.

Well, there is this, but it only has 670 responses and we are WAY more than that. It also is about FC generally.

I asked about the age breakdown in a thread and was pointed to this poll. It's not accurate but it may show trends.

Assuming it has any utility it DOES show that we are pretty much all ages, and roughly 10% (of those who responded) are over 60 yrs old. It also suggests that around 55% are between 26 and 48.

I think a new poll is in order, but I suspect the idea that most are in their 20s is likely wildly inaccurate.

Does anyone know what the current status of an official DaynaVap induction heater is? Is there any offcial word from George about it? Would appreciate any news on this! @VapCap

The official word is that it's not ready. It's being tested and retested. And tested again. They know how big a deal it's going to be, and know they can't release it until it's ready. No grasshoppers live in Dynavaps. So...Be patient.

When it is we'll all know about it.

@stark1 knows. He’s just poking us old bears

Plus he was asking about the age of VC’ers. That poll is for everyone on fc. Who knows if age ranges differ depending on the device...

Age these days is a state of mind, in spite of the physical limitations of a finite lifetime, people
these days are looking younger than their peers of yesteryear.

Yeah, not trying to rush anything, just curious!

Totally understand. It'll be the biggest day, at that point in time, in the Dynaverse. It's going to be HUGE.

And if you're a student of people, George doesn't rush into shit. It's just so not who he is. It's gotta be right before he's going to stake his reputation and put the name of the company on the product.

And lest we forget the 4/20 hassles, there's probably some behind the scenes structural work going on with Internet and then figuring out how to create a production line as well.

They're not making these one at a time and putting folks on a 4 month waiting list. Once they're ready they're going to have to have hundreds ready for immediate shipping. And then be able to make thousands more. That is a HUGE deal.

Dynavap IH might be far bigger than people here are thinking actually. Depending how the coil is located, if they can make a decent induction heater at a reasonable price, there's probably mechanics who'll buy one with no intention of vaping!

I looked at buying a commercial one initially and saw the prices, commercial heat inductors designed for bolts look LESS complicated to build than Pipe's versions but cost around £500-600 ($650-800).

Seriously, look at this link below or google one, you could stick the coil of the DIY versions outside the casing and make one of these for a fraction of the insane prices.
