Drinking vapor bong water?

Hey guys,

Drinking bong water would be gross (if conbusting the herb) but when using the vaporizer with a bong attachment, the water seems very clean when finished. If one was to drink this (possibly use vodka instead of water?) would it get you high?

If you use vodka instead of water? Sure.

little ice in it, it has a nice crisp weed flavored water taste haha. not to bad as for getting you high, i dont know. but vapor water tastes a hell of alot better then bong water. actually its pretty tastey if its fresh water and you drink it right after your session.

Well since the thc is soluble in alcohol, I would assume that some would be left behind in the water. My guess would be that it would not be enough to create any noticeable effect (thc wise), but the alcohol would definitely make things fun.

however... when using alcohol in your bong with vaping, the warmth of the vapor can cause some of the alcohol to give off a bit of vapor each time you hit it. So there is a slight alcohol content to the vapor.
I've tried vodka in a vaporizer before.... Got a little tipsy from it in conjunction with the high.

Although THC isn't water soluble, some does get trapped when you filter with water. Can you drink it and get an effect. Sure, if you drink enough. How much that would be I don't know.

Im going to have to try this. I assume using ice would be bad because it would melt and dilute the water.

I have sipped on some vapor water, and have actually got at least 4 or 5 other people to try. Not regular practice for me, but i admit i smell my water every time i empty it, and the thought always crosses my mind.

For some reason i constantly think it would be fun to make ice cubes out of the vapor water, and using those cubes in cocktails throughout the evening. Slowly getting that THC added. Never tried though. Anyone wanna beat me to it?

No thanks. I'd just throw it out like you do with bong water.

Fresh vapor water can be pretty damn tasty, and by "fresh" I mean during the session, after a few hits- not days later. Flavor depends on the herb used, temperature, vaporizer, etc. A clean glass bong is a must as well, and one way to keep it clean is to change the water after every couple bowls. Hit, drink, refill.

If other folks are hitting it I'll pass, though- I've seen too many people drool.

I thought I was the only one,...I got a whiff of my bong-water and thought,.. hmm doesn't smell like I recall bong-water smelling from my combustion days. It smelled crisp and clean and since it was recently aerated I thought I would give it a little taste. The other folks in the room with me thought I was off my nut. I got a little out with a straw and I'll be damned it tasted good, if not great.

So there I was, I thought I was on to some kind of discovery,.. came into FC to post about it in the cooking thread,.. but figured I would do a search first,... damn,... now I feel a bit silly,.. of course someone would have tried this already.

I use the Zephyr ION hooked to a gravity vortex cold fusion with a rubber stopper on the top and a hookah hose attached to that. This gives me a closed system ( mostly,.. the only air intake is from the underside of the ion through a filter and through them herbs.) I have found that if I use the same water for a while, I can harvest a good amount of oil that builds up on the glass wall ( amber almost tan oil) as well as the super saturated water. I am certain that the water does not extract any of the chemicals in my vapor, but I do think that it creates a suspension.

I think drinking bong-water is so counter-intuitive, such a gross concept when considering combustion that I prefer the term vapor-water.

The water will give you a great "up" buzz as well as is quite refreshing. I run about an OZ through the bong before I harvest the oil and the water. I get about 1g of oil and 10 oz of water.
No need to tell you what I do with the oil..

ohhhhh but the vapor-water:
It can be drank,... 2 oz will induce a nap
Mix 2 parts vapor water to 10 parts regular water and your favorite tea
Jello
Ice Cubes
You can let the water evaporate and reclaim the oils

The term bong water should definitely not be used when referring to water used to filter vapor, even with 'vapor' in front of 'bong'. The difference is like night and day.

how long do you use the same water?

or better yet... how much herb do you put through the water before its useful at an oz or 2?

I run about an oz through the water, 28 grams unless my guy shorts me that week. Oh and I go through about an oz a week.

I just got the Cloudious Hydrology9 (I call it my Cloud9 and we are loving it and drinking the water too I change it after nearly every session as it's so easy (and my choice). If you get one PLEASE read the instructions! Videos I've seen show some false assumptions...no you cannot adjust the exterior vent and yes you can add/remove your weed with the water still in it. It's a marvelously simple and efficient new product...cool, tasty vapor. Delightful

hi there, does anyone have experience a leak into the large air conduct of the bottom? When I open it a see water on it and smoke doesn't come up in the tube? I don't know what is wrong I clean all the air conduct and still no smoke on the tube. Thanks

Cool idea? Maybe. But 8 years later this does not sound like something id like to try anymore. Haha.

i did a test with a simple aquarium water test kit to see if there was any ammonia from vaporizing a while back . tested the water in my water tool . and low and behold there was some detectable amounts after just one stem ( if i remember correctly ) .

i posted here some were with pics . this was good clean product too . i also repeated the test with smoking through the same water tool , with the same amount of herb . there was almost the same amount of ammonia left in the water sample from the smoking as there was from vaping . i dont think its a good idea to drink it

thc is hydrophobic too= it does not absorb into water... so there is no medication qualities at all in that stuff

While THC, like most/all oils, is hydrophobic, that does not mean there is not an emulsion formed between it and the water. It might not be stable without a surfactant and a lot of energy (Like an ultrasonic cleaner.), but it should hold some until it breaks down.
