Finally got time to press some more rosin and a friend gave me a small slab of mix trim bho, so I have enough concentrates to continue testing and I can say the Lux fits a niche for smooth&tasty hits on the morning. It medicates me very well, especially with the unit I set at 100% heating level, my other unit is still on stock setting but works prettty well too , I like to start using this one and switch the capsule in the 100% heating level unit after a few hits.... although it might be easier to get, at least 3 presets with a switch like the ESV get.

Hi, I just noticed something with the Lux, when you power it on, it begins to be in standby mode (pink light) and you can press it 3 times to get the heater ready or pre heated and I rezalized the unit was still producing vapor even with the depressed button (off) with the unit I set the idl power to 48 (it was around 20 before I think). A shame I don't own a smartphone to be able to play more with this settings ... I would like to try some things like a 100% idl power and a 0-10% draw power and the opposite settings too but I start to think the stock settings are good enough (for my unit it was a 68% draw power and a 28% idl power if I remenber well and if I assume all units are shipped with the same settings but maybe I'm wrong).

So for now these is the settings I use for my 2 units, one is the following supposed stock settings (68%DP and 28% IP) and the other one was tweaked by myself using a friend's smartphone to upload the App (100%DP and 48% IP).

Could you share the settings you use and the results you get cause if I like the smooth clouds in the Og settings unit I dislike efficiency and if I like the medication with the tweaked unit ,I dislike the harsh hits (I'm coughing very hard!) ?

I'm surprised how long last the battery now! It seems, like somebody else noticed, the battery need to be conditionned through some charging cycles. At first they was pretty weak and units was blinking red after 15-20 hits at stock setting, now I'm using one for 50 puffs at least and still not get the red blinking (on my tweaked unit!).

So I’ve followed this thread pretty much till the end my take is the device is pretty much a fail or maybe ok for some concentrates? I need your guys opinion I have an offer to buy one new for $175. I only dab at this point mainly thca, some rosin and shatter. Usually using Liger 30mm, terp slurper, or nastee 36mm. I’ve tried a lot of devices for concentrates including making glass fritted discs and putting them in MV1, enano and firefly 2 in quest to not use those horrible pads. I’ve pretty results with xvape vista and didn’t really care for the peak. I don’t want to even the pens or Sai. I mainly dab at home but I want a device exclusive made for dabs. Is this device going to deliver what I need? I love the idea of glass capsules but does the material come in contact with the hot metal? Would you buy it for $175? The other option might be the Switch. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

The Lux is not a total fail imo but there is a lot of issues, so much I wouldn't recommand it even if I appreciate it in some occasions.
Taste is pretty good using 50- 60% draw power, very smooth but clouds sucks and if you use max power you'll getr a very good relief, clouds (similar to a 520-550 dab on quartz, visible but not huge) but taste will suffer and smoothness also.

Can't speak about the switch (except the same things you can read yourself in the thread) but it seems like Something special.... interesting but form factor, size, pricepoint and glassware keep me away from the Switch. Would like to try one but don't want to buy one.

Maybe i'll sell one of my 2 Lux soon too but I'm hesitating... maybe I missed something which would make this vape great!

To add some infos to this thread I want to say included batteries are garbage, I used a Samsung 25R and got, at least, 4 times the amount of hits I got with the provided ones!

Thanks that is really helpful. I’ve always appreciated your comments on the board when I first had the Vista you were one the few that had commented. That’s my fear that somehow the vape will be great but we just missed something. Think I’m going with Switch.

It's a pleasure to know my posts are not useless! You enlight my day (which is terribly dark and wet), thanks.

Can I ask you where you find a brand new Lux for sale? from a retailer? or maybe a unusued second hand unit…?

Entechange on reddit. Someone just received theirs and doesn’t want it. Yeah your posts are generally informative and I pay attention when you post. I still want this vape but I know I’ll regret it. Back to trying to find the Jumbo slurper...

Salutations,

Back to 2014 or so the Evoke now rebranded as the Lux consistently sounded like a fake thread meant to demonstrate how to destroy the reputation of IH technology, instead of implementing it, and now i get the very same "déjà-vu" feeling while going through some new Switch thread: much for the same reasons, once again...

Besides thin-air and social noise little prompts or even invites to consider spending additional time & money while yet another advertiser still fails finding the proper basic language. Honestly i don't know where the enthousiasm is from; long ago aboriginals got tricked by europeans showing them cheap mirrors but it doesn't work anymore, so why choose to base trust mainly on faith if not simply because there ain't anything else to find?

Please lets have IH technology which cleverly integrates the Curie effect for starters, etc., otherwise it shall remain the mirage it always was IMO.

Good day, have fun. :peace:

I might not even open mine when i get it this week, And try to trade it for a Peak or Switch. I got it mainly for a dry herb vape four years ago, But it does not seem to vape herb well, And i would much rather have a Peak or Switch rig in the $400 oil vape market.

No july 2014. I did however get the email just after 420. I just was not checking E-mail due to a severe injury i had before 420. The order number was in the 500's. I think they are in the 700's now.

I no longer own or am waiting on one of these. I saw how easy it would be to misplace the metal pieces and that pretty much did it. I have plenty of great on demand and session portables. The only wax only options i like in this price range is Switch since i only consider that useful for wax and the Peak. The Evoke or Lux or whatever you wanna call it certainly don't vape flower properly.

The buyer of the unit says it works fine with wax just wish it went higher. I would rather just get a new low temp wax attachment for a mod. I like my wax vapes stealth like Yocan hive or a mod attachment that looks like a regular tank.

Hi, I recently broke one of my rib while ridding for the first time a young horse, she's a pretty gentle horse but I made a mistake.... and payed for that!

So I can't cough at all if possible, this is cause huge pains like to laugh and a variety of movements.

To avoid coughing I use the Lux with great success, I use one with stock settings (approximatively 20% idl power and 68% draw power) and get very smooth a&nd tasty small clouds quite visible in the morning light or under an electric light.

Hi @Vapor Loop did you never test it yourself before to sell it? I think it's very different to a Yocan product, a lot worst in some aspects and a lot better for others topics... at least the new owner seems to get it to work!

Hi @PPN i did use the dry herb one before i got rid of it since it was not included in the in the green Lux box itself. I got much better results off that old Boom nova. The Lux seemed to barely get vapor and overcook what was touching the metal rod. I will eventually if its not resold soon get to try it out with wax, But the limited containment of wax once heated, size, bright lights with no way to turn down, lack of higher temp and small metal parts really did it, This simply was not the small wooden induction vape i crowd funded in July of 2014. I can feather my Hive to get low temp just probably don't taste as good as evoke, If you can get over that funky taste the mp put out that is. I certainly didn't wan't to hit it with iso and possibly ruin that gasket with no store to purchase a replacement in sight.

+1!

Just got mine with dry herb thingie. It's unopened at this point. I'm planing on passing it on if anyone from here is willing to cover all my costs. Otherwise I will cheerfully keep it as an oddity.

For those looking to pick one up? I expect that quite a few FC original backers will be rehoming them.

Bummer, not an original crowdfunder but kept eyes open for a real launch. I cook (food) with induction at times and thought this vape would be an innovative addition to the culture

You gotta deliver, developers. It's rought going, but the mob is real

Well, I just signed up just to be able to hopefully warn anyone who might still be considering buying this. I was an early crowdfunder, and believed the hype. Four years ago (!!!), I thought my $99 would get me what promised to be the solution to all dry herb vape problems. I was, like most people on this thread, sorely disappointed.

After dealing with a barrage of passive aggressive updates from them for years, when their original production goal was 6 months, I was still holding on to a sliver of hope that maybe the wait was worth it. Listing all of the ways in which what I received does not compare to what I originally crowdfunded would take me a very long time. Let me summarize it:

It's poorly constructed, and ultimately useless for dry herb. I've gotten better results off of a $30 porous stone vape.
Everything about the design screams "We spent most of the time getting high and then had to come up with something".
The battery that comes with it is terrible. So is the charger included. After leaving it charging for hours, the charge level indicator goes up, and then down again.
The whole thing feels like it might just fall apart at any moment, which does not make it in any way a practical portable option.

I haven't tried it with concentrates yet, but that was not what I got this for originally.

It is most definitely not worth anything close their current retail price. I feel ripped off of $99.

It'll make a lovely, if oddly shaped, paperweight.

Be warned.

As with most looong threads you don't need to read the entire things. Vapecap is an amazingly simple thing. Lighter powered vap the size of a fat joint and precision engineered out of titanium +. The Portside you order by sending the creator a PM. its an induction heater for the vapecap.

Unless you are into the gear end of vaping, and plenty are, it's the simplest solution around.

Agree 100%, received mine a couple of days ago, dry herb is a pain, battery life is terrible.

Please save your money for something else.

I never did receive the flower cart that was promised to me so I was never able to test it. I think this vape is definitely a concentrate vape. It does concentrates ok, but not as efficiently as other solutions, however, it works. Cleaning is a little on the heavy side, soaking little glass vials and suseptors can be a bit of a pain where you don't want to lose or break anything.

The one area I am having really good results with this vape is with pure, anhydrous, CBD isolate crystals. It vapes them without scorching, good flavor, and leaves behind little residue.

Would I buy this vape? No. I got one for the initial $79 and for that it is a fun experiment. The second one I ordered for $99, because back then they had a separate vape for flowers and concentrates, has never shown up and I doubt it ever will.

This vaporizer and thread is just mind boggling. Has been since the very beginning. Still a joy to read and follow though.
That, lol.

As a Vapecap + Portside fanboy I have no intention of every using the Lux BUT I have certainly gotten my $s worth of enjoyment out of it.
