Yeah, thanks lads. Better late than never. I edited as I went (see above) . I think I did mix up the caps but that's a good thing because this one cools down a bit faster than the other one, and I combust in the NonaVong more than with the Omni, and the wood needs more destinking. So it's been a great experience at the end of the day. Happy vapin' crew

just_the_flu

they say im crazy but i have a good time
I mastered my M technique but was having major issues getting down the Titanium tip technique - I was regularly combusting often before the click even happened.

...i had the opposite experience with mine... i started with an og vapcap, the glass kind, a few years ago and didn't appreciate it... recently i tried getting back on the vapcap train and picked up a M... i fell in love  and knew i needed a ti tip! so i got two naturally

...anyways, i was getting nice roasting in my M and using same technique with my omni with ti tip i get less roasting and needed to hold heat a tad bit longer... i feel i'm getting the same performance from my ti tip now as i was with my M...

...i do like the ti tip over the ss one...

Another question for the experts. (I’m always the beginner)

Does glass expand with heat? Is that why @DDave glass is so loose in the tip, so it doesn’t break with heat? I feel like it’s gonna fall out. It’s a beautiful piece and has earned it’s superior spot inside the Stash for keeping/protection, but I’d kinda like it to fit just a bit tighter to the tip.

But do let me know, those of you who have had experience with this glass body, is this normal? And those who have this beautiful glass body...how do you find the vape/effects different between the wood/metal/glass. And thanks in advance! :)

I have a couple of the wands. One short where it's a bit loose and the other one is long and that fits snug. I think what you're experiencing are the vagaries of blown glass. It's harder to work to spec than metal or wood.

If it's real bad @DDave will fix you up. My loose one isn't a problem as it's not loose enough to come off if I'm just a little careful, and because it's glass I'm a little careful.

If it's not currently usable try taking out the o-rings on the tip you want to use and wrap a bit of hemp fiber in the o-ring slot and then put the o-rings on. That should snug it up.

As to effects. I think devices like this allow you to take larger hits than you would natively with the M or Omni.

So bigger hits bigger high. Especially with the M tip or Ti tip in the largest screen setting where you can truly milk the sides of a bong or J Hook.

In fact today I put my M tip on my long DDave wand to use with my J Hook. I had one bowl on that cuz I was in a lot of pain this afternoon. The pain has been gone for about 3.5 hours... So...

I have one of the longer ones and it is also too loose. I think he has had some inconsistency on the ID of his glass. He is going to replace it after he catches up on his orders and stuff. I am going to send mine back to him so he can discuss it with his source.

And, btw, if the glass expanded the tip would get looser. And there is little chance the tip will expand noticeably under heat, especially due to the fins intended to radiate the heat out of the tip.

craic is Irish word meaning fun.
I know, a chara gael, but if "having the crack" was good enough for our fathers, it's good enough for me. I'll have none of that ould "craic" PC shite. The word has only caught on in the last 5 or 10 years cos we don't want to scare away the Yanks from Temple Bar:myday:
You see, you've got me all worked up now, and me in the middle of Legion! :peace::peace::peace:
EDIT: I may have ovrreacted a bit :\
@lookhigh is quite right. We can't have TripAdvisor reviews saying "The Auld Triangle is the best pub for crack in all of Dublin" (which it definitely isn't ). Anyway, new millenium, "craic" it is from now on

The glass piece I have from DDave works great but like you said is a little loose. Normally when I put my tip on a magnet it pulls the cap off. When I use this glass wand the magnet pulls the whole tip and cap off. It doesn't bother me a bit, but since you asked.

I have a carbless glass decorative piece from @davesmith. On this one the tip fits snug just like I bought it from DynaVap themselves. I seriously love this piece. I am enjoying the Dynavap through carbless glass more than the regular bodies. There is a significant price difference.

Both of these are wonderful. One is great because it is made to perfection and is simply wonderful to look at. The other is great because the price is amazing and you get all the benefits of glass.

I'm back from the Dynameeting and it was a good evening.

Not only George and FC members were there, but also two men from Vaposhop joined us for a while. There were people from The Netherlands, Belgium, France and - of course - the US, all with one thing in common (besides our gender): a vaporizer passion. I saw beautiful colored omnis (at first I thought they were bit gimmicky, but after seeing them I think they're really awesome), and stashes.

Somehow the positive vibes in this thread were also there at the bar in Amsterdam, guess Dynavap attracts very nice and open minded people.

A memorable moment for me was that we stood outside vaping with our Vapcaps together with George. And our view (zoom in at the sign...)?

I'm so tired because of my two teaching jobs, but I'm glad we could meet up.

If you have the opportunity to go Berlin and see George (and @Hogni): do it!

Edit: I almost fall asleep, but I really want to add something. George talked about thankfulness and spreading positivity. I conclude this post in that state of mind: have a nice day!

Bah! Don't feel like that. If you don't care for a thing no real harm in that.
If I had paid what I did for the piece I got from @davesmith and the connection was loose I would have been real sad about it.
If I had my choice right at this moment I would prefer that my other glass piece from @DDave were as snug.
My rationale was because I paid 1/10th the price, for me, I willing to accept the differences in fit. That and I'm too lazy to return most shit so if it gets in the ballpark, which this does for me, then it usually stays or gets gifted to a friend. The stuff I love I buy more of, already placed another order with @davesmith.

No guilt in sending something back you don't want and you get the added bonus of your place doesn't get all cluttered up with stuff.

@beyond6strings ...you’re right! I decided to try a different tip so I pulled off the one on my M and it fits perfectly...so that tip will be dedicated to this glass piece. Many thanks for your answer.

@cybrguy ...gosh...you’re right too. Ha The glass would get looser, not tighter with heat as I thought. Thanks for straightening me out.

@HughJundys ...I wasn’t aware of the other glass piece so it’s nice to know about. I really like the looks of this little one-piece glass by DDave. I have a question for you and others that use these without the condensers....why do we have condensers at all?

Thanks for these responses. You’re all most helpful! :)

The condensers cool the vapor. If they serve other functions more experienced members will chime in I'm sure.

My two glass pieces are able to do that themselves. I just tried my glass piece from davesmith and one from an XL condenser with a wood body. The glass was cooler. My glass piece is also longer, and a lot more fragile

@cybrguy and @HughJundys thanks to both of you. So the condenser’s main function is to allow for adjustable air flow and to cool the vapor. I don’t see how something so tiny could ‘cool’ anything but I’ll take your word for it. :D But I can see how the hole in the body helps with adding air/coolth). [Did you see that...a new word...created by me...just now...awesome, huh :mental:] Tomorrow I will try the glass again and hopefully it’ll be wonderful. I’ll be using my handy-dandy lil’ Vapor Lung for all that vapor I’m gonna get. :)

To me, their website and the pictures on there are the least I could care about to be honest. I hardly go there. All within good manners of course, if I would think about it for a while, I could think of multiple pictures that would make me think about their mental health in one way or another, but I really don't see a link between those and the VC so that's not a real possibility in my world.

Yeah, me too
Website looks great to me, and those Ti colours are sure mixing it up a bit.

Just so you know Drex, I haven't forgotten the custom stash and stem!
The stash is well under way, and the stem has been started, but awaits the arrival of some sharpening kit (my turning tools are all very blunt) so I can finish it properly.
The first attempt at a tiny stem fell apart on me ( tricky to turn things this small ), but I've changed wood, and the 2nd one looks better :science:

The stash is nearing completion.

PM or email me your name/address so I can prepare a package while I wait for my sharpening kit.
It'll be a while yet, but at least I can get that sorted.

@HughJundys
If you've got a magnet that pulls the tip out of a glass, then we've got a case of cumulative tolerances here. The tolerance of my glass on the larger side and the tolerance of the O-rings of your vapcap on the smaller side.
I've got three vapcaps and there are slight variances. My black O-rings are definitely slightly smaller than the gray ones. I've got two caps that I would consider average fit on the tips as they slide on snugly but the magnets can still pull them off very easily. One of my tips is from my first OG. It's much tighter than the other two.
And you're spot-on about the price point. The tighter the tolerance the higher the cost per piece. While my glass guy would be very happy to make only a few high-cost pieces, I've always been about bringing the mods to the masses. So I deal with the occasional tolerance mismatch.
Regardless, contact me after the 20th when I'm back in full business mode so we can continue the discussion.

@kushkush
Glad to hear you do have a tip that fits.
I'm curious about the difference in the tips that you tried. Are they both stainless steel? Do they both have the same color O-rings? Has one ever been left soaking in rubbing alcohol during cleaning with the O-ring still on it?

I went and tried it, you are absolutely right. Thank you Thank you Thank you. You just made me start using my M-Tips. They fit perfect in my glass stem I got from you. They are snug, stay in, no wobble. It is like they were made for it. I didn't know there were that kind of variance.
I wasn't using my Ms. I didn't like the bodies, they got hot on me. After I read your post I tied the M tip and was surprised at the fit. Then I used it. Woweeeeee! I have the long glass stem, no heat problems whatsoever. This makes my M tips rock! I will star using them on a regular basis thanks to your timely post.
I used it like a glass stem and puffed the other end instead of sending it through the bong. I got outrageous hits.
For most of you this is no big deal but I am just discovering the whole carbless option and it is great. I need to try it in ti too.
At the @DDave price point is a no brainer to at least try this option out.

Thank you! This is exactly the type of feedback that I need to best be able to serve this community!

If there is a slight difference between the stainless steel and ti tips, then I need to make a note of it on my website. Maybe consider another model of the wand, but that's another day.

Please email me sometime after June 20th and remind me of this. If you've got the long wand, then we have to complete the set and as my way of saying thanks for this feedback I'll send you the shorter custom wand no charge.

How long is @DDave's water wand,
