Stealthiest Vapes

I recently saw the light and went from smoking to vaporizing and I am loving it! However, I purchased a Volcano for home use and am now looking for something I can take with me when I'm out.

I'd like something small enough to fit in my pocket. From doing some research on here it's looking like the Iolite or the MFLB. I'm leaning towards the Iolite because it looks a little less conspicuous as it could be some kind of tech gadget. Any other recommendations for a good, stealthy vape that fits in my pocket? I'm looking for something that I can use on the go, or by ducking into a restroom.

Thanks!

If you need a portable that you're going to share amongst friends, I think the Iolite would be the better choice.

But for a stealthy "personal" portable, I think the LB is in a class by itself.

What is it about the Iolite that makes it better for sharing? Looking at pictures online it seems that the LB is slightly smaller, which would make it stealthier.

Are both the Iolite and Launch Box good in terms of warm-up time? I don't wanna have to sit for 15 minutes in a bathroom while they preheat.

The Iolite is better for sharing because it is more user friendly. There is more of a learning curve with the LB. It's the same reason why a bag vape makes a better party vape than a whip vape.

Regarding warm up time, the Launch Box could be considered an instant on device. The Iolite takes a lot longer to heat up (minutes versus a few seconds). The Iolite also hisses when it's warming up. The LB is totally silent.

Out to lunch
The iolite is easier to disguise for use in public. Pop it in a drink cup, with 4-6" of vape tubing attached for a straw, and no one will give you a 2nd glance unless you're in a quiet enough area for someone to hear the hissing noise as it reheats. Although it can pass for a "tech gadget", sucking on the iolite with no disguise isn't very stealthy. At the same time, although the LB is smaller, someone looking at you may wonder why you're holding your fist to your mouth at intervals. Not to mention that the LB requires some stirring or shaking, since your herb has to be in contact with the heated screen/trench to vaporize. The iolite, with a fixed temp, requires no attention once it's loaded and turned on. So you have to consider the noise level where you'll be vaping, how public you want to be wtih it, and whether you want to tend to the bowl or just vape til it's done. The LB, being a much more simple device, is also going to be more reliable, and has a better warranty as well. With the iolite down to $200 now, and about $175 with FC discount, think about getting both. ;)

Since the revisions have been made to the iolite how has it been operating? I read alot of early reviews saying that it had alot of problems.(melting mouthpieces, not working consitantly) as a result my first vaporizer purchase was the launchbox and i absolutely love it, now im thinking about adding the iolite to the collection. What do you guys think? Have they made enough progress on their newer models that make it worth purchasing. Also i can get it for a 150 from my local shop. So its a pretty good price. (and its the newer models). Any and all advice would be much appreciated and helpful.

I guess the question is, do you really need two portables. How are you doing on your home units?

My first vape experience was with a friends Iolite, haven't used the LB. But as far as looks go for stealthy I would say Iolite. From a distance it could pass as an ooooold phone or walkie talkie or even like a nebulizer for asthma. Like said earlier, fits in a cup perfect for sneaking into movies and pretty much a heat up and pull till toasted operation. With the LB I could invison fumbling of batteries. I think the simplicity of the Iolite adds to its stealth.

As for noise and the Iolite. In my experience it is a none issue. Unless your going to be doing it in church I don't see it being an issue. Any type of noise drowns it out or covers it.

OOh and when in the movies, don't sit right under the projector. The guy in the both could possible see the vapor cloud in the projection and think it smoke. Try to sit off center or in a corner.

My friend has had no real issues with his Iolite other than the mouth piece straws seem to like to snap. Easily fixed with a dab of super glue if in a bind, but just smarter to buy a few on the spot.

sgvpunk, $150 is a great price from a headshop for one. I think my friend paid $210? somewhere in that ballpark. I would suggest it for a good portable alternative for all of what I just said.

Yo guys ( females & males) for easy quik portable stealth, you have to check out the magic flights launch box- magicflight.com. gramman- Thanks for the advice regarding the iolite, I kinda see the Mouth piece straws being an issue. Iwien-I suppose i dont need two portables, but i like the idea of being able to take my vaporizer anywhere. I like using my vaporizer in naure settings, such as camping and hiking. I actually do not own a home unit. My launchbox is my primary vaporizer. INfact its all i use. I do not really need a home unit, as being "stealthy" about my vaporizer use is a top priority. I will eventually move onto a home unit, but as of right now being portable and stealthy are my main concerns. I take the advice on these forums very serious, and that is what i base my purchases on. Thanks again for any future advice.

Combustion free since '09
Well I love both the LB & the IO for different reasons. I wouldn't give either up! More vapes, that's what I say :D No excuses to combust, out of butane, batteries dead lol. Love having backup and choices.

Iolite is great for driving or boating, the LB not for me driving.
