Discontinued Elevape smart 2.0 (ESV 2.0)

PPN

Volute of Vapor
Yes, as a newbie, another first choice might be better BUT, for me, this vape is an amazing tool!

Although if there is no more consistent customer support it might be better to ask for a refund... but maybe try it (IDK if you can send it back after but since you can clean the whole thing it's not an issue) and maybe you'll love it.

I got some issues with mine but not enough to send it back for RMA and it's still used on a daily basis 2 years later. Did you get in touch with the european Elevape guy (Sandor)? I posted the Sandor's email adress in this thread (or in the original ESV thread).

Let us to know what happens!

Thank you so very much for all your replies & likes ;D

Well, I just got a very friendly and clear letter from Sandor. But I had already cancelled my purchase by email including the reason why: frustrating lack of customer support. I also rejected the package from the delivery service today (always cheaper than to send it back to Hungary yourself / from the Netherlands here). Also made a Phone call to Hungary but I'm bad at speaking something else than my native language so that was prrretty chaotic and no idea who I was talking to.

So I just got his mail, am I allowed to post it here? I guess I am.. I can share it with my own words but that would be half and I don't want to restrain you from their world or the world they live in. And so we all know that their intentions are good. Here it is;

(I also made a point of wanting a ESV 2:0 in an earlier email / on the EU site it isn't clear what you get)

Dear I.,

First, our apologies about all your inconvenience, damage and misunderstandings. Please let me clarify our position as I really didn’t intend to make you upset.

You may know it or not, there are two companies behind Elevape Smart EU. It is our company Hunify Laboratories Ltd. and Nap Hall Ltd. We are scientists, engineers and technicians with a lot of experience in product development, but we are not experienced in retail, marketing and communication. The reason why you are not convinced about what you ordered is that we missed to communicate it transparently and effectively.

We are selling only 2.0 units. Version 2.0 contains a series of developments from another vaporizer technology (medical grade device) project from our portfolio. Due to many technological reasons we assemble the devices from components after the order placed. We spend 6 hours to calibrate them one-by-one to have the best available performance.

Luckily, we sold only few hundreds of pieces and I am the only one who is dealing with customer support. Sometimes it takes a bit longer, indeed, and I’m deeply sorry about that I did not answer your first email on time. It was a national holiday at our country (all saint’s day) and I wasn’t in my office. Today I was a bit surprised about your emails as I thought you are already have the product. I checked the tracking number and it shows that FedEx tried to ship it on Tuesday, Wednesday and today as well, but the address you gave us, or we gave to FedEx was not good or perhaps you were not at the address when they tried.

Elevape Smart is a great side-product of a great development of the medical grade vaporizer that we did not finished yet. We have happy and unfortunately not satisfied customers as well.

Personally, I do not intend to make you angry because of our weak quality of services, so I will start the refund as soon as we get back our product. Please do not take it in no way from FedEx, I will call them tomorrow and ask to ship it to us.

Sorry again for all your inconvenience and everything. Should you have any other question or comment, I’m at your disposal.

Best regards,

Sándor

I just want to chime in and defend the ESV for a second because it's not a shitty unit. I've never had the finicky problem some of you are describing where I had to open it and adjust the coil often, I open the unit for cleaning maybe ever 2 or 3 weeks and never really touch the coil. It's lovely by the way to be able to take your vape apart and soak the pieces in ISO for cleaning, its effective and does not involve a half hour of scrubbing with q tips. The vapor quality is very enjoyable, smooth and cool, lovely taste, and nice clouds if you go up in temp. There is a draw technique but with some use and practice you will have it down, and within a month you will be a master. For friends, it's shit, because they have not mastered the technique nor can the be expected to because they do not own the device. For friends use a different device. The size of the unit is awesome, and there is no denying it's solid build quality. My one and only true problem with this device is that you have to stir every few hits or even every hit on the higher temps. It's annoying and stupid, but that is how the device works, the stir lid is a poor solution as it adds draw resistance and sucks heat from the chamber.

Currently though I am unable to contact Joe. A year ago I would call him and he would always answer now I've called a few times a week for a month and can not contact him. One of my screws threads go ruined and I have to have tape over the screw to hold the unit together. Joe said he was going to send me a screw in the mail but its been almost 2 months and I have not received it. This worries me because I appreciate Joe's help and my lifetime warranty stops working if the company does.

I don't know the state of the company and with that I would hesitate to recommend someone to buy this unit unless I can get in contact with Joe and see how things are.

but this unit is not a piece of shit, it is a very special vape, you have to learn it, have to get it set up at first, and it works in a very specific way. But if you know this is what your looking for and it's not your only vape, and you are ok with string, than the ESV is a good vape for you.

I know things are dead around here, but I just don't want to see this vape get shit on when I know it doesn't deserve it. its certainly not perfect but then again who or what is?

I don’t like bash on any company or product, and mine is the original version, but I have to chime in. I’ll admit that when it worked, I loved it. Flavor was fabulous, and I could get good vapor from it. Stirring was a pain, but I believe a lot of vapes released at that time required it. My issue was that I couldn’t keep it working. I did drop it once while charging, damaging the board, but after paying for the replacement board, i had to send it back after only @ couple of uses. It then failed again after only a couple of uses. All of that was after an early battery failure and a couple of coil replacements. It’s now sitting in a drawer, and will only come out when I overcome my reluctance to toss it in the trash.

It did have potential though, so I’m curious about Sandor’s mention of a new vaporizer in development. Perhaps they’ve applied what they learned from the ESV and ESV 2.0. They seem to be good people, so I want them to succeed.

Their honesty/transparancy is a blessing (and this coming from a non-believer ;))

... think I'm going to china for a vape high-quality imitation, at least you get your money back when it's not working a reasonable amount of time. Customer service sucks everywhere me thinks now (after a deep dive into Mighty's world). China isn't so bad as they may show it to be. An upcoming power ruling the world one day.

Do you know about the bird?
I'll weigh in, even though it's the model after mine. I love my ESV. First vape I got, and even though it was pricey, it works and works well. On demand convection. I did have a conversation with Joe early on and he helped me adjust the coil (I, unlike others, needed to bend it down rather than up) but it's been spot on since, even after replacing the coil awhile back. Admittedly, I don't use it as much as I used to, but dial it in and keep it charged, and it is a beast.

I'm also very curious and willing to wait for this "medical grade one" if a release doesn't take too long... I've asked if there's something to say about timing already.

Welp, put me in the bricked train. I got a vapcap and my elevape got mad at me for not using it. Now no light comes on when I plug it into the charger, and the computer wont recognize the vape when I plug it into the app. I can not get it to produce heat either. About the only thing it does is turn the red light on when I draw. Oh and I can not contact anyone to make use of my lifetime warranty. Good thing I got other vapes I like, but sad to see so much money sitting useless on my desk.

FUCK CANCER TOO !
Oh and I can not contact anyone to make use of my lifetime warranty.

That's a real shame! You would think the manufacturers would have more respect for their customers, particularly in the handcrafted market!
Mine still works but the re-charging can take 10 hours sometimes!

Maybe some of these contacts might work for those needing to consult with Gaspar etc al.?

Been awhile since I have used mine and battery is no longer working. Anyone have any recent luck contacting elevape?
Opened up my original elevape and looks like battery could be replaced easy (had joe replace original once already)
Have the battery number so going try see if can find replacement. If anyone else has replaced there battery any advise would help.

Have you tried leaving it plugged in on a smaller charging brick for a day or so to see what happens? I need to clean mine and keep it in the rotation before it ends up as another brick in the wall...

Thanks dug out old windows laptop and adjusted temps along with changing out the coil. Got a whimpy hit. Ran battery down then Left it plugged into laptop overnight and now seems to be working again.

Not sure why a lower power usb charged it, but its working again.

Glad it worked for you! Bringing a vape “back from the dead” is always a fun time!

Yes btw getting this working and changing out firefly 2 screen it's like getting 2 new vape. Only getting around 25 per charge but there good ones. Hoping after couple more charges and use it will improve.

Forgot how much I liked this little guy. I have it paired with a magic flight orbiter. No fuss grab the whip take a hit.

Did you have details on the battery? I didn’t open mine all the way to access the compartment where the battery is located. I have some down time later on and I can go looking on the internet for possible matches. Thanks!

Finally got to talk to Joe.

He does not work for the company anymore and has not for about a year.

He made it seem pretty much dead. Especially on the American side of things. Gave me a sliver of hope with the European department, saying they may still be around.

Pretty sad news.

Good luck with your ESV's team, I had a year and a half maybe of good times with mine, was a good vape with some high tech and unique features.

Cheers and cherish your little black box if it still works for you. If not use it as a paper weight, Open it up and do the warranty yourself, or give Europe a try.

And to a prospective buyer, I think you should look elsewhere, not because the vape is bad, but because the lifetime warranty won't do you much good.

Most money I spent on any vape by far, and also my biggest disappointment by far.

That is exactly my sentiment. Technically, I’m sure I’ve spent more but I’ve never spent so much on a non-functional paperweight.

I suppose that means the long dormant JV vape is also dead. Can’t remember the other manufacturer but I had my eye on their vape and was about to buy it when they started talking about the next version that never appeared.

Is yours a 2.0? What has been the cause of your disappointment, besides the three Benjamins you handed over for it?
Yes, 2.0. I never got it dialed in right, even after sending it in to them. I either got barely there vapor or it combusted my herb. Stirring between every single hit didn't help, nor did bottle cap method with the screen. I like to tinker, I don't have any problem adjusting and what not, but it was maybe one out of ten hits that hit right, if I was lucky.

I'll add that when I sent it in to them, they said my coil was messed up, but when I got it back with the new coil that they installed it worked just the same.

Odd. I guess I got lucky because (knock on wood) I have had minimal problems, really just cleaning and remembering not to leave it unused for long periods. I would be happy to fiddle with it but I am not close by is my guess...

Hear back from Europe. They are shut down too.

Might be time to slap a discontinued on these threads, but I'm no mod.

Though I guess because our warranties are worthless we can open them up without fear. Maybe it's an easy fix?

Just finished playing around with mine. Put a fresh “bottle cap” style screen in and realized I needed to adjust my temperature profile since it was previously dialed in with the stirring bottom. It is doing well! I think it is worth a tinker or two. And perhaps we can squeeze a little more life out of these together as opposed to each on their own...
