Portable vaporizer or Home unit?

Blunt

Bluntmaster
Apparently someone wanted to be anal about my first Thread even though there was nothing wrong with it because I followed all rules stated in the Thread I was linked to..

I was considering getting a home unit, but I feel like I should start by buying a portable vaporizer, the Launch Box, first and wait until I save up enough money for a volcano. Portability doesn't matter a lot to me but I know it's most likely very convenient to have something similar to the Launch Box that you can keep in your pocket, but that also is extremely efficient. I'm just wondering does this make sense or should I continue to save up and buy a home unit like Da Budda or the Volcano so that rather than trying to get multiple vaporizers I just get a single solid one? Thanks.

modnote: "Does this make sense?" is not even close to a descriptive title that sums up your question as specified in the rules you were linked to. Please also review our forum rules. Thank you.

We are all pretty anal here when it comes to vaporizers, but calling a mod anal for doing their mod duties is a bit over the top for a new member here and really won't ingratiate you here in your search for answers to your questions. Your first sentence in your post above serves absolutely no purpose and you would be better served if you contacted a mod directly thru a PM rather than make a statement like you did above.

With that said, if you really don't have a need for a portable, it may be better to just save up a bit for a nice home unit like the Buddha or a Purple Days or a plethora of other great home vapes, depending on how you plan on using it, and what you really want out of a vape. On the other hand, if you've never vaped before, and you have no access to a friends vaporizer, the LaunchBox, or possibly the VaporStar or VaporGenie may be a cheaper alternative to get your feet wet and to find out if vaping is really for you.

lwien,
My answer in your other thread still stands. The LB was the perfect first vape FOR ME. It probably will be for you, too. And read as much as you can here when deciding on your "home" vape. Lotsa good advice in this forum. And don't hassle the mods in public, like lwien said. Take it to private if you are that peeved. Oh, and welcome to FC. Hope you learn a lot, like I have.

I wasn't calling someone anal, just expressing the fact that I think, given a few word changes, my Thread wasn't in violation of any rules. I just need some advice/help and I got one answer before my Thread was closed for reasons I don't believe were significant enough to close it. Also I couldn't figure out who closed it so the private message route wasn't possible otherwise I would've been much more detailed in my rant, but oh well.

I've used a Budda before and loved it. I just feel like maybe I should play it safe rather than getting a larger vaporizer and get something on a smaller scale like you said. I was thinking that I would always use the Launch Box because it's portable and it would give me something to use until I am ready to invest money into a dock style vaporizer.

Thanks again for your input SkeletonLips and I'm leaning very much towards the Launch Box from VapeWorld that I can get to my house in 2 days for only $93.

I always try to keep my options open though so I'm trying to get everyone's professional opinions before making my unprofessional decision.

I think you will find the "gang" here a really nice bunch. But you've got to mind your p's and q's. The mods have a tough job here and do a really good job keeping things peaceful and, for the most part, friendly.

The LB is a solid investment. For $50 - 75 more you can get a box vape, a cheap, good beginner vape that will get you big hits and enable you to also smoke keif. If you have any friends that have a vape, try it. It's hard to know what the best vape is for another person. Each person has their own priorities in a vape. Otherwise, read, read, read and post more questions before making an investment. Especially if you can only buy one right now.

My first experience with a vape was with a Hot Box. Massive hits and not very economical on the herb. Then, I got the LB; very efficient, economical on the herb, but smaller stealthier hits. Then, I got a Myrtlezap with a 13.5 adaptor which is a great personal vape; economical on the herb, big hits, and can be topped off with keif. So, now I have three vapes, all which serve a different need.

I started a friend of mine on vaping recently. She got a LB and has been having a hard time using just that. Sometimes, she gets frustrated and ends up smoking. The box type vape was the next one she bought because sometimes she needs big hits to feel the job is getting done and also needs something that she can share easily (plus it was affordable).

So that's my long winded way of saying it's hard to say what will be the best starter vape for you. Depends on your needs.

Thanks man, I'm planning on getting a bigger vaporizer when I move off to college in a few months most likely. I'm just looking for a healthy alternative to combustion in the meantime and something stealthy is perfect since I can carry it on me at all times. Everyone gives it great reviews and I think I'm going to end up buying a Budda for my bigger unit just because of research I was doing on it a few months ago. For now though I'm pretty set on the Launch Box, unless I am swayed another way. I just needed a tolerance break and I wanted to get a little healthier while I'm at it since I've really picked up my smoking to three times a day. Thanks for your input momofthegoons, it's very much appreciated.

My friend just offered to sell me a Vapir Oxygen Mini 2.0 for $60. Although this eliminates a lot of trouble for me and time because I would have money for 4/20 leftover and I wouldn't have to ship it. However, everyone seems to hate Vapir products so I'm very hesitant to move forward with the deal making.

As for the mod who made a note, sorry I didn't use my whole name and round to the nearest hundredth decimal place..

Ya know Blunt, you've got a real chip on your shoulder so just for the record, because you are behaving like you are, I don't know about any of the other regulars around here, and although you never asked, you will not get any advice or suggestions from me, just because your being such a........... (damn, I'd love to break this rule, but I won't).

As you pointed out I never asked you for advice, and I wasn't planning on it. So cool, haha.

Meh, I don't know why anyone would help you.

We're all friends here on FC, you're just being a pain.

I'm really not though, just voicing my opinion whether you like it or not. Apparently many people don't like the fact that I'm upset at a moderator but I'm not going to apologize for simply stating my views. If you can't deal with that then don't help me. I didn't come here to start a fight but I'm not going to sit here and take shots.

Blunt, there is an edit button to your posts, so no need to post back to back.

Part of the rules is the following:

Public discussions of staff decisions are not permitted on the site. If you have any concerns or queries relating to a staff decision please take it up in private with a staff member.
So i would keep staff concerns private, and contact them directly.

My opinion. The LB would be a great unit for the soon to be college kid. Quick and discreet, it can come with you on the move. Just an FYI, i think the vast majority of the people on this site are older then you. We try and keep things polite, and expect everyone to follow the rules. Please attempt to imitate this behavior in the future, a good attitude can go a long way young grasshopper.

Damn, I think I broke the most rules possible in 12 hours. Whoops. I'm not an immature person and I treat others with the same respect as they treat me, as I think you can see in this post compared to other responses I've given. I'm thinking the same thing as well because I feel as though a large vaporizer would just be a hassle to haul around at college and what not. Thanks for your input man.

If your looking for a plug in dorm unit, the PD or MZ is very discreet looking, conserves well, and will give off minimum odor. If you purchase a few extra stems for use during sessions with more then 1 person it would probally be helpful.

But, a variable temp vape like DBV would probably make a better complement to the MFLB, and fits much larger amounts of herb. You could then choose what temp you like the most, and will be nice when a college friend brings over a big bag and just wants to vape through some mass. Doesn't happen everyday, but with the right friends it will still happen often. Good luck.
