Discontinued The Grasshopper

For those adding messages to current rma requests which for me went unheard as well should try emailing support instead. After reaching out via support my rmas have finally shipped. This tells me that somehow adding messages were not being read or received and somehow my hopper was out of order (they received early December sent at the end of November) as rmas sent well after mine were being returned. Happy to finally be hopping again soon or at least looking forward to it.

Email everyone possible at least once a day. Surprising how effective this method is, though not fully unfortunately

Got my RMA'd Hopper back yesterday (stayed with Hopper Labs for pretty exactly 4 months) and it gets a little less hot than before. A 5 setting would nearly combust with the unrepqired one, now it's pretty light comparably which suits me fine, I'm not a big fan of roasting too dark. Still getting three bowls of 150/200 mg per battery. The blue LED seems a little dull compared to before, it's probably part of what was replaced. The blue flashing in use has been said to be default for a while now, so I wouldn't bother here.

My wife was wondering why I seemed less enthusiastic than she'd have expected, given all my whining about Hoppy being abroad for such a long time, and I asked myself that as well. The effect is like no other vape out there because of the sheer extraction power. The taste is top tier. Still I'm a little on the "meh" side. Is it the anticipation that it'll break again in a couple weeks? I'm not sure. I'm glad I have it back, but a wee underwhelmed.

This has been my experience to a T since receiving a new SS on April 5th. (Had 2 others prior.)

It is working perfectly and I too feel that the temp dial is more accurate. My new one is also not quite as hot on 5 but then again I could nearly combust on 4 on my last hopper so I'm happy with it working this way. Taste is great, extraction perfect. It's working exactly as it should. So why have I only busted it out once a week in the nearly 8 weeks I've had it back?

The only metaphor I can draw is that of getting your heart crushed back in high school. When my hopper left I pined for it. There was nothing like it. How did it fail me? I emailed Hopper Labs like a crazy person, all the time. I wanted it back. When I got my shipping notice I was giddy. We'd be reunited.

Thing was during that time she was away some other vapes stepped up. New friends, new companies, with reliable products and stellar customer service. They performed day in, day out and if I had a question on them I had actual timely exchanges, phone and email, with real people.

When my new friends heard Hopper was coming back, they were like "are you f'n kidding me? You're going back to her? Do you remember how you were last time?"

But man was Hopper looking fine and working great when she got back. But there's something everytime I use it now. "Was that a blue flicker? Wait, is the back end getting hot? She leaving again?"

So I don't trust her. Even though the new version is perfect I'm reaching for my new buddies more often, just occasionally pulling out Hopper. Maybe she'll prove me wrong but I don't think she'll ever have 1st position status again. And if this one breaks, maybe I'll submit an RMA but I probably, simply, just won't care.

So despite reading much of the past 40 pages or so of the thread. I still decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on one.

I snagged a Grasshopper TI + 2 extra batts + the TI PFE + the leather sleeve.

I have a mighty and a Omnivap for while I wait, and of course, if it ever breaks. But there is something about the grasshopper that I couldn't resist. Despite everything else. I feel like the company is attempting to right a wrong, and for what that is worth, I want to support them. I will have to wait and see if my experience is as bad as everyone elses.

Regardless, the next 4 weeks are going to be a long wait :)

So it's been nearly a week of only using my new hopper and I love it :luv:  Getting 3-4 bowls from a battery, tasty clouds on 3 - 3.5 and wiped from caching a full bowl in 2 or 3 massive hits on 4.5 - 5.

I've been following this thread for nearly a year and always had my doubts if it could be that good that a hopper would be worth sending it back in over and over again for RMA and not just give up on it. Or even get a second 1 for when it is gone :mental::mental:

Shame on me. :disgust:
I hope I never have to send it in but if it needs it I will, as often as needed. Hell I might even get a second 1:rofl:just in case.

By some miracle I found a site that had the stainless steel version for 149. It also had a promo code for 15% off that which made the GH $127! I got it and it appeared new and when I registered it online it was accepted. After registering it I immediately went back and bought a Ti model and two extra batteries. The Ti and batteries was $150ish. I just went the site and all that is there are batteries and the charger that comes with GH. I have used the Stainless Steel and it is amazing. Hopefully I got lucky on one of the two!

Absolutely loved your posting! This is me, from this thread, pretty much exactly one and a half years ago:

reminds me of that girl we all knew one time, the more you get to know her, the more totally unbearable features you discover, but there's this one thing, no one ever did and never will do, like she did. Okay.... apparently I'm way too attached to that thing...

... crushing a delicate piece of me all right, but probably not my heart? Well, they don't call me Mr. Romantic for a reason. Do I really want to go this place again? Am I not back to it anyway ? Good thing is, it's not really a blow shoveling psycho from hell, but just a little apparatus.

Going with the adage of "if it seems too good to be true..." that seems like it is most likely the old rejected components being sold for cheap? That would be my first guess. But I could be wrong. Make sure to let us know how it works!

That was my feeling but the batteries are GH2s, it registered properly as in box matching serial number. It works great! But if it fails quickly, I send it in and use another vape in the stable. When it eventually boomerangs back, it will likely have new internals and I put it back in the rotation. It is a risk, but a calculated one that seems less risky at the more modest price.

You know what, you're probably right. At worst you have to send it back for repairs and still end up with a new one back in your hands eventually with all the new components....an interesting idea.

EDIT: And as I put my CC info in to snag a SS hopper on the cheap, it goes sold out. Damn.

Sorry that was me

Glad I snagged it. And 2 extra batteries

Ti -Ss- HT PFE- 5 batteries :whoa:

PS. Who has the battery charger and SS case on preorder? That charger charging three batteries looks awesome

Wait time tho..

Edit: ordered like 3 hours ago so it could have been someone else :ugh: I wanted another Ti but they were out

I plan on it. :) Now that I know that they sometimes pop up on there. I'm looking forward to this device I think more than anything else I have ever purchased in the past for this hobby. I looked forward to my Mighty, but not like this. The GH is just another level....
