Dr Dabber Switch (Induction Vaporizer)

I would definitely try it but forsure I'm not paying 500 for it lol. If this thing was maybe 300 dollars it would be worth it imo but it's just SO BIG lol

Pyrolysis is most commonly applied to the treatment of organic materials. It is one of the processes involved in charring wood, starting at 200–300 °C (390–570 °F).[2] In general, pyrolysis of organic substances produces volatile products and leaves a solid residue enriched in carbon, char. Extreme pyrolysis, which leaves mostly carbon as the residue, is called carbonization.

You just explained why the taste and abv are like it is

I would prefer just vaporization, in essence abv with this device is basically trash and unusable for edibles or tinctures and also tastes like smoke and leaves coal or ash behind? I'll just use a dedicated vaporizer for flower and concentrates...hows the water piece taste after putting flower through, then dabs?

I'm sure if you crank the temp then yes, it'll be like smoke and leave nothing behind. However that doesn't mean that's the only result you get especially if you go down to the 300-450 degree range.

Sticks has already said it's pyrolysis but honestly didn't do a good job at all explaining the process. Dr dabber needs to explain the process the flower/wax are going through.

If I knew what was going on I'd tell you. We need actual lab testing to get beyond the theory of what's happening in there. Until we get that, opinions are going to vary from groundbreaking to bullshit. I lean towards the former.

There is no ash whatsoever, We don't recommend using this ABV as there is no active components left. This is also the reason the effects feel different as most users have been saying.. You are actually getting out what you put in with little to no waste.

Hmm, sounds interesting.

Why did you advertise it as a dry herb vaporizer. Seems like some very experienced vaporizer reviewers don't like the taste or vapor that the dry herb mode produces. If their unhappy with the dry herb mode, how do you think we're going to react?

This is a hybrid Oil/Flower Vaporizer and the feedback we have gotten from the beta testers has been outstanding. It is a different experience then the traditional vaporizer and we have not shyed away from telling anyone that.

Ok that sounds fair but does it smell more like smoking than vaporizing on dry herb? I can only vaporize where I live. So it can't smell to bad. I pre-ordered a week ago and got scared from reviews I have seen lately.

Lab testing is irrelevant if we can't simply admit that char is incomplete combustion.

I honestly don't see how this is debatable.

When devolatilization is complete, char and ash remain.

There’s a lot of buzz brewing around the Switch.. anticipation is high for this one that’s for sure.. man I can’t wait to get this thing in hand n give my Peak a well deserved break, lol.. going to have to reload on a bunch more trates, cus alllll those goodies I was hoping to save n throw at the Switch have all gone bye bye! Down to the last .5 g of live resin.. gonna be another pricey week when the accessories page goes live, and also loadn up on more goodies.. still need a directional cap for my peak also... ha! Dabbing can be sucha pricey hobby, but damn it, soo well worth it! After I tore up both my knees n shoulders during my years n years of football, n spinal stenosis. concentrates n dabs have got me away from all those hardcore pain killers Drs we’re trying to constantly throw at me.

I hope they use USPS and not FEDex or UPS. Otherwise we could be waiting awhile.

Yeah! I just wanna see those accessories. The bubble cap looks kinda goofy, but I still want one :)
Right? The pre order came and went and it's been a few days since they said they would send an email. So far nothing and it's kinda disappointing. Definitely wanting to see them accessories and get it shipped this week.

To be fair, Dr. Dabber goes above and beyond by coming on these forums and doing outreach to the community with behind-the-scenes info. They could definitely do a better job of setting specific expectations, but product launches aren't always exact science. I'm sure they're dealing with their fair share of challenges in bringing this product to market. I'm impatient too, because I'm ultimately just excited to get the dang thing in my hands. But I think Dr. Dabber has been doing a pretty good job of trying to accommodate us so far and answer our questions. If these things are expected to ship on Friday as suggested earlier, then that still gives them a few days to get the accessory store up for us.

Wouldn't lab testing be even more relevant in that scenario?

Not if we just extrapolate the results subjectively as some are doing with their definition of char.

Brother if your load is charred and it tastes like smoke, the literal writing is on the wall.

Char is the solid material that remains after light gases have been driven out or released from a carbonaceous material during the initial stage of combustion, which is known as carbonization, charring, devolatilization or pyrolysis.

Vapcap OG is a master at charred loads. I can get the same from my Flowerpot if I push it too hard, so much the water will turn yellow like a combustion hit, even the bowl and screen can have a smokiness to it, yet no ash.

Still. . I read it like initial stage of combustion, not combustion as such.

I am still folowing this as the one thing that might surprise us (flower wise).

Aren't those gases extactly what you want (in your vapor, not in your abv)?
