Hey folks! Quick question. How far down does the temp drop when you guys are taking your hits? I set my temp at 700 take a rip and it goes to 680. Is that normal?

I've seen as much as a 15F drop myself, using a non pre-heated bowl and carb cap. Seems to even out once everything is preheated. Now a days I just preheat it all for about 30 seconds then do my session.

That's about right to me. I avg about 18F each hit. It's the cold air being pulled through.

That’s a lot larger drop than I get, but probably a longer hit too. If you have a coil cover and a coil that fits well that amount of drop seems like a lot to me, but it’s not outside of what I’ve seen reported earlier in the thread.

With the stock controller and coil, I only get about 2-3 degrees drop. But I use the showerhead with shield and a glass bowl. I do not preheat or let the coil sit on the bowl unless I am drawing.

When I used it my temp drops were fairly minimal. Not enough for me to even remember how much now. If it had been over 10° even Im sure I would have taken note as I would always prefer more stability.

This is very relevant here to the level of variation in the results and performance between diff setups at identical temps.
We have been discussing this topic briefly in the Herbo thread, as we try to anticipate how the digital will perform on a cold bowl without a heat soak, vs the analog.

It has been revealed that not all analog Ti's are calibrated equally, with very different power and performance on same heat setting.
And we are guessing how eqaul the different Digital units will be. Comparisons were drawn with the FP in light of variations. But we generally feel that there should be less variation between diff Digi-Ti units ans setups, than with the Flowerpot where there are quite some variables, perhaps most crucially the coil and exactly how it sits on the head?

But I really dont know anything about this, not like all you FP/enail/pro cannabis vaporists.

As you are probably aware, PID is an algorithm and as implemented it can have many variables to set that determine how it peforms.

Its seems to me that what we look for is a compromise between too little stability (switches on and off constantly, over/undershoots, hunting) and too much stability (just less reactive as a result of PID calculations so what is displayed may well lag behind what is actually happening at the coil).

So, I think how PID was implemented and set up in your controller will have a lot to do with how responsive it is to showing temp drop when pre-heating bowl/carb cap.

Now, I'm not expert on this at all and am completely willing to be corrected and schooled on this by any PID experts.

Like the look of the new stuff but Ive triple bought some stuff as "improvements" were made. I have so much obsolete stuff laying around its not even funny. I gave away my first FP because it was quickly replaced with the stuff we have had until the new system.

Wish past customers that have spent a small fortune with NV got a reasonable upgrade discount.

Once I get my VROD set up I was thinking of pairing down. Moving my SH and OG bowl set up but of course can’t kick the old girl out without comparing the two side by side. As well as test fit the Ehle glass bowls to the VROD.

Good point...if anyone who’s already ordered bowls from Ehle or Popular Glass (who *just* finally got them up for sale) also orders a V Rod, please let us know if they fit!

It would be good to know for any other random glass bowls that have been recommended with links too.

Absolutely Baron, I think ultimately we're gonna gave to blame this one on the controllers and their individual algorithm setups.
My rdk-300 currently for Elev8r- very minimal temp drops and extremely stable temp recovery with no overshoot.

It's like a slight delay initially for calculation, then a steady and predictable rise to bang on temp fairly quick. But during use just tiny temp drops. Except- the coil temp is about 70° lower than set temp. Otherwise performs perfectly, like atm- set temp 790, coil 720. It works as if it was set at 720. Impressive controller.

At first the temps matched. It must be due to me manipulating my coil numerous times causing some irregularity. It cant be a fault with the Auber surely.

And as it happens, the Digital Herbo will have Auber made controllers. Which I guess isn't a bad thing? We'll see.

Original NewVape FP Shower-head= the best convection hits on herbal matter I have ever experienced.
Those that prefer flower vaping need look no further for the best extraction form a desktop unit than the FP with all original Showerhead, and 14 OR 18mm male body 1 piece bowls.
A personal opinion, and favorite.......from a vape flower all day every hour on the hour, daily.

Hola FC:
After reading all the thread and waited for the latest VAS to kick in, and then reading Vitolos comment, I’m really interested in comparing it to Versa Infinity “boost”, EVOs early bird IGG & OG VHX Cloud, eNano, Milaana, Solos and my soon to arrive Square Pro.
I’m probably ordering today the latest Vrod bundle.

Id rather have NV continue to improve the FP, your current set up works you dont have to jump on a product because its new. Imagine if we were all still on the OGFP and didnt get the SH 2 or 3 years later?

Dont blame your V.A.S on NV :p.

I haven’t tried those, but we’ve seen very few people disappointed by the FP’s performance, and the few who are can generally get to a point where they like it too by playing with temps/draw speed/etc.

I can’t guarantee it’ll be your favorite vaporizer, but I can almost guarantee you won’t be disappointed. :)

At this point I think the V Rod is the way to go for a new setup, as long as you aren’t trying to pair it with a coil that it’s not made to fit. Obviously a new one from NV will fit (just be aware of the connector type if you have a different brand of controller), and they have measurements to help with checking others for compatibility.

Alright, been a while was gonna jump on one of these at the start of the year but there was a bunch of stuff coming it for my so I thought I’d wait. Any aussies out there what are you using for your controller? 240v. Think I might have to give one a try.

Got mine today. Just bought the controller from NV. It works fine... plug it in and turn it on. The vape is amazing.

Saying nice try was absolutely meant in a demeaning way. It implies I was trying to get over on them or create more of a discount then entiltied to. How was I supposed to know the discount applied to a part of a part and not the whole part? That’s the entire I reason I posted the question; to ask if I had it right or not. There are a lot more pleasant ways to answer that question...

Oh wow! Definitely no snarkiness intended. Im sorry you interpreted it that way.

Hi I hope you will continue to feel at ease to freely express yourself here. I know myself how a simple misunderstanding can shake us and knock our confidence in a thread/forum, especially when you feel like you have accidentally upset someone's feelings.

So it is just unfortunate that your harmless jest was misinterpreted, but please dont let that deter you from feeling at home here.
Im sure everybody really welcomes anybody from Newvape participating here, however great or small. Just a few words of encouragement anyway to feel right at home I hope.

@Splingy All's well that ends well eh? Tried telling all you guys, one by one. Postal/shipping delays....What does that mean again?;)
