You would need a metal susceptor around the glass to support electromagnetic induction.

I was thinking along those lines before. So does that mean those enail coils are not induction based, just a regular heating element?
The small wound coil probably made me think of an induction device.

I just tried out the 16mm coil with the elev8r today and got some decent vapor so it does work

Oh man, I loaded up the elev8r with some of my sister's stuff, so she was used to it, and gave her first hit. She always hits so little, so I told her to exhale and then inhale, and she got thick bluish vapor...oh man this was the good stuff, the lower temp hit that is decieving. She took as much as she could and immediately cough it out! We all know that hit. I warned her it would be intense, and some said it was similar to an herbal dab. She was lit.

Yo peeps. Just catching up here and dropping in to say- my coil setup is working absolutley fantastically! It took a surprising while tinkering and dialling in but is so worth it all now. I can have any type of hit I want. As large as ever needs to be but zero risk of combustion pushing that line.

Im bad at not combusting with torches generally. But the coil hits are seemingly identically smooth every time at a steady temp. I can extract the actives quickly with 3 great but smooth big hits at 700-710. No temp droos barely which Im sure is key to my results. Some who have had larger temp fluctuations surely couldn't get the same performance?
Vapor drops off then so temps up 20°, a shake of bowl, 1 or 2 more hits and all done. The only thing that isn't great about it is the hassle of coil and bowl etc. Im not great with repetitive movements, finnicky things and hand use in general.

Apart from that- freakin amazing. No need for a torch at all this is so much better, but it does take some tuning and dialling of the variables. Torch is more "out of the box". I had practically given up with the coil at one point but now I have such an awsome vape in it.

You should post a pic, I would be interested to see, I did mine at about 600 and probably need to turn it up, I don't know where to put the coil when its hot so it just stays on it till I'm done so I lose the ability to shake it and stir but oh well it is what it is

Yes the hot coil ia a problem with this setup and a MAJOR safety hazard. The other night I was hitting a late pre-bed load with bubbler on chair and my lap. Great hits, fading into ston3d onconsciousness as I do....next minute, as I drifted off, I knocked the heater clean off the bubbler with coil still attached onto the carpet!! I just caught the coil wire woth my sleeve and it jerked out.

Nothing broken, I snapped round and grabbed it, a faont carpet burn smell.
I've also singed both arms on my fleece by brushng on the coil.

I am using an old china cup as a coil stand. Except it continually conducts heat through the cup. I started out standing the cup on a silicone heat mat, but it made no difference tp heat condcuction onto the desk.

So now I have the cup standing on a stone coaster, on top of heat mat. For this setup to work and be any fun, it is vital that you are able to reomve the coil freely and safely. I need to stir, shake, check my loads throughout a bowl to get even and full extraction and consistent hits.

So you wont be doing the experience or setup justice otherwise. And you def need higher temps I would say. Work on a coil standing/hanging solution first. Then up your temps. It seems 670 ish to 700 is where most of the money is, but enormous variation between setups.

My 700 will be different to yours. I will aim to get some more pics up for you of my current bubbler and coil/adapter setup later or by tomorrow. Its really neat and cool. But here are 2 previous posts with images as I was working things out:

Well my original heater finally fell apart after lasting several weeks with a huge crack.
So I went and fished out my free prize Elev8r heater which also has a nub

And guess what? No airhole!?

So I am now using a nubless spare which I bought to include with my prize Elev8r in a planned vape trade.
So the coil now sits on the sick clip, which gets pretty hot now. But I have to say, it did seem like performance was substantially improved without the nub. Surely due to the coil sitting differently now and making better contact.

But then something bizarre happened. I was hitting my late bedtime loads this am when suddenly I could smell the coil smell really strongly, the odor that I can pick up at times when the coil first heats up.
I couldnt tell why it was happening, except on the heat up on the heater last night, it was making a clicking sort of sound every few seconds for a while.

Anyway, this morning I noriced the heater was covered in black stuff from the coil:

I ISO soaked it but only some of it came off. (Photo is after ISO soak) @Abysmal Vapor I thought this might intrest you in light of your concern over coil materials and safety. My coil temp was as high as 745, which it has been already numerous times with no issue.

Woah rough going man. I am sure they will replace your flawed heater, but you as you know you will probably get one without a nub. I wonder what that crap is?! Freaky indeed. Thanks for sharing! Hope you get your V8R sorted out.

Been using my elev8r with a triple torch like a sticky brick. It whistles so loudly, and it's a little slow to start (4 seconds or so of empty pulling), but then milks. I put the flames right down into the heater hole. I don't have to look really to do it, because I know it'll whistle loudly when I get it. Hahahaha Instead of a vapcap click, it's why Elev8r whistle. I haven't gotten out the big torch in weeks. My sessions are faster, I use less butane, but it is a little different than using a fully warmed heater, which like a dab starts high and tapers off, but the direct flame goes the other way. It starts out low and works up to high. Both effect me differently. Used properly, it makes my weed feel more like a dab. It's more intense and not good for doing tasks in my day. But it is good for nighttime use.

Dude...seriously....sucking in butane makes you higher?.....ewwww Do you have a sticky brick?

Man I'm not sucking in butane. It's getting me more high, in fact it's a mellower high than I typically get with the elev8r. No I don't have a sticky brick.

Hi, I got recently a Elev8 heater I paired with a cyclone bowl which is basically a female to female 18mm adapter. I use a medium size torch (single) which was pretty efficient to heat my nails but seems pretty inefficient to heat the Elev8 heater.... I only got some whispy clouds with +1mn initial heat up and 15-20s for subsequents hits. Can I get a recommandation for a good torch, please?

Which is the t° you use when paired with an enail and coil? (I bet at max cause the Elev8 seems to need a lot of heat to work properly...)

I must recommend the Blazer Big Buddy torch dude. 20 second heatup for YouTube size clouds. It's quite popular here but also some use the Blazer Big Shot, though it's quite a bit more expensive here in the UK.

Just got one recently too (heater only like you),i'm using the same Arizer Q cyclone bowl too or other 18mm female/14mm male. I'm using the Blazer Big Buddy Turbo, bought it from amazon for around 25$: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LV9Y2HQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

35-40second for initial heating is enough for me(at minimum torch setting), i turn my heater very slowly when i'm applying the torch, i'm using only small load so i often finish my bowl in 2-3 hit max.

18MM female/14mm male with Vapocane screen (nice for micro-dosing), a bit tricky to fill sometimes^^:

Vapocane screen too here:

So for less than 30€ you have a new vape ;) !!

Most likely the bowl is too tall with the amount of heat your torch is capable of. To give you some reference, here is the bowl I use....it is shorter than the stock one as you can see.....yours looks much taller than the stock one.

And more important to how a bowl will work besides size and height above screen....is the exit! I like to have a free flowing straight airpath over as much of the load as possible. Notice the size of the outlet below your screen.....the stock one has a pinched area and much smaller outlet.

stock bowl is on the left, the one I use is in the center. I use the other only for my flowerpot with concentrates.

I use a Blazer Big Buddy Turbo......I highly suggest this torch as it puts out a good amount of heat and I only need to use it on the lowest possible setting. The Blazer Big Shot is even stronger and I feel it is over kill as it uses more fuel....but you can get quicker times to full heat.....I just dont mind the time it takes with the Buddy Turbo.

I understand, I got exactly the same issue when I switched from the Herborizer 14mm bowl to the 18mm which doesn't restrict at all and lead to a less dark abv using the same settings.

For now I only get the cyclone bowl or another glass bowl which is pretty similar in regard to the distance from the heater but narrower.

Try to find something to get my 20mm coil to fit the Elev8er cause i don't want to torn my only one 16mm coil, but i'm afraid it will need a very high temp to work... I don't find the Elev89 to be economical in regard to the energy used to get a good heat/hit.

Tried it on my stove for heating but didn't got better clouds although my flowers are very moist and impossible to grind, I use scissors (I forgotten to close the jars while it was a rainy day and all is moist now!).

Any links for a third part bowl please?

thanks for all the reply, i will not give up but i can say it will not fit my usage habits...
