never wanted to beat that one ;)
Today was a good day. :)
Birthday at home (not mine)
And both my Tubo and Vapcap 420 packages drop in. :whoa::haw::luv::love:

So I got my presents also. ;)
@funkyjunky even upgraded my Base from plain to tubo style which rocks!
And also unexpected was an additional tip (much read about Vapcaps lately) mouthpiece: a rimmed one! (which looks badass with tubo by the way)

So then bubbler, tubo, new base, long whip and cork adapter treated us well and smooth.
Together with the ice in the bubbler trick I just learned from the vaporisation temp thread :D

Oh and I had to cut stuff of the Cork adapter to fit because the bubbler has such an irregular opening hole.
Will work something out but it works for now.

Hope you a great weekend and thanks funky!
Made an awesome day even greater!

Hi everyone,

i received my tubo evic a little over a week ago now.
I'm a quite happy user and will offer a full review later but i had to stop by because i got some
security concerns while reading through the thread pages.

I use my tubo on highest settings 210°-230°C and i use it the whole day.
My device gets pretty hot. The evic part is always ok to touch. The heater part is possible to touch but i prefer not to.
My concern is about the battery which can get pretty much as hot as the heater part.

Other users here state their batteries never get hot or even warm.
It's my first mod box and 18650 device. I have one Q30 from FJ and bought 4 more at another shop. All get hot after one .1-.2 session. The last 20-30% i get regularly "Hot Device" messages but it's usable with slow pulls. But then the battery gets so hot i don't want to touch.

I lowered my coil resistance from .294 (written in the battery door) to .290 (no more glowing coils at 260°C).
I read in the thread the standard resistance was lowered from .270 to .200 some time ago. So even if my model would be an old one its still high resistance.

I have good results. Like i said review to come. No charring or burning, even abv and tasty clouds. But i don't want my batteries to explode or some funny things like that.

Would be highly interested in some advice from more experienced users :sherlock:

The too hot message indicates overheating of the chip. Batteries can get pretty hot while used, it is normal ,also there is heat reflected from the heating chamber. If you have concerns you can get a cheap multimeter with Thermo probe and measure the temperature of the battery while in use :).TuboX solves that problem having the chamber separated from the body, and also having the ability to use multiple battery mods where the drain is distributed among few cells and therefore they dont get hot.
Another solution is to get a power adapter but it is almost the price of the TUBOx and you loose the cordless aspect of the experience.

Just curious, how's the 4/20 orders coming along? I'm so eager to try this vape I've been checking my order status every day.

Sup everyone, new here! I was planning to buy a Tubo Evic but had a hard figuring out which one I really wanted. Since it was out of stock (and still is), I decided to make a small customizer for fun. Additional info is on my GitHub page (link on the website). Hope you like it!

Nice ! I like it , maybe FJ should put it up on his site or something similar :).

@f0Nz I use my Tubo(s) in the same temp range as you mentioned and yes, my batteries get hot after a couple of sessions... although I rarely get the device too hot message.

Unsure why you'd want to change the resistance from that on the battery door though (I never understand why people do this :hmm: ), if getting the good results you say, and those you'd expect of the temp range you're using...

I have no idea at all if my coils glow at 260C and have no real urge to find out if I'm honest.

Great job man, thats useful asf.
I also noticed on the tubo site that Rosegold is not an option on the custom evic colors, I was hoping to order one in that color when I do if they're still available in that color. @funkyjunky

Both my devices required a tiny bit of adjustment to the resistance to get time tuned to their sweet spots. @funkyjunky adviced small increments and that was key.

I watched the site since 6 pm cet and there was still "out of stock". Although I had guests I refreshed the site from time to time. At 7:21 pm there were 2 devices available. At 7:22 there was 1 device ;)
And that was also gone after some minutes.

How do you keep the herb from falling through the chamber screen where the heating tubes are?

I just got my Tubo and I'm worried about ruining it already. how do you use the regular screens that come with it? I'm worried I'm doing something wrong.

If you load inside the joint where the big screen is, you can then use the basket screen as a cap. However you don't have to because that screen is there to protect the heater. You will be fine if little bits fall they can be shook or poked out, while after the first hit the load tends to stay pretty stable in the stem regardless. I like to take my first hit upside down... So yeah load the stem not the screen above the heater if that wasn't clear... Good luck and enjoy

I just realized that I did in fact get 1 basket screen. It was hiding, haha.

In the instructions it says just to drop the load into the bowl. I was putting it in the stem, just no basket cap before.
Anyhow, there are a few bits under the screen, in the middle/on top of the tubes.

What do I do? If I poke it down, it might fall in the tubes. Where does it go? That worries me.

I also keep getting Device too hot even when I take breaks. And after that it stops my session, so I don't know how much longer I have left.

I want to talk about how awesome this thing is once I figure out how to not damage it. I need to reread this thread. :hmm:

I have a small question for you guys. For those who have tried it, is the long hookah hose worth it? Initially, I wanted the short whip, but 40cm seems pretty short for a group session. On the other hand, 140cm seems really long when you only want to pass the whip around a small kitchen table. Also, it's probably harder to clean and the draw might not be as instant as the short one (or not?). Any advice on this?

I managed to snag one yesterday and I'm pumped!

I have a couple questions:
How long did it take for your order to go from "building" to being shipped?
Anyone from North East USA use the economy shipping? What kind of time frame was it from shipped to delivered?

@Evilevile I would recommend shaking upside down so nothing falls directly in the tubes.
Also someone here vacuums their tubo regularly so that should also work.
If you are afraid of more stuff in the tubes/tube area you should try a courser grind.
Alternatively just use the basket screen to cap or get another basket screen and use the microdosing package method.

@Golitan11 I just got it and used once but it was pretty cool to have the long whip.
You are ofc right about the initial delay being longer but that didn't really bother us. I never cleaned my short whip and don't know why I would want to but the length should be pretty irrelevant since I would run hot water through it (which I did now before first use).

I actually expected the whip to be longer than it really is (visually) and I don't know your kitchen table's radius but it certainly works.
I got the plain one for budget reasons but the wrapped ones also look really good! ;)

@Wicked0ne funkyjunky just said around 6 weeks building time IIRC because of high demands.

Oh and @Alexis , I still owe you a comparison to the Vapcap.

The Vapcap M is definitely harsher than the tubo when used without hemp filter.
Just to give you a bit more food for thought ;)

Afternoon guys! Long time lurker first time(ish) poster.
Got my Tubo just less than a week ago and love the living poop out of it!! Makes a Q go a long way!!
I have one little niggle that you guys and @funkyjunky may be able to help with.
The glass heater is loose. It's not impacted on the performance as it rips hard! And it's not pulling up put of the housing at all. Just rocks inside it. But I'm worried I may damage it with it rocking in the heater enclosure. I always remove the stem straight out, no twisting, but love the little beast and want to keep it happy and working for as long as possible.
Any advice or should I just suck it up and deal with it?
Many thanks in advance everyone

Hey man good day to you and thanks for thinking of me, appreciated.

However I wish to take this opportunity for some important FC usage education:

Far too many members here, new and old, do not realize that if you edit a post to mention/tag another member- they will not receive an alert.

If you mention them after the edit the alert will not be sent.
I only saw your post by chance, I didnt get an alert. So Im just doing my bit to raise awareness of this issue. Just think how many times members will be reaching out to each other and no alert is sent.

So please everyone join me in being mindful of this and raiising awareness as widely as possible. Together this is one way that we can make FC better.

EDIT (joke!)- @leveltree thanks a lot for the extra food for thought. I have momentarily paused my portable hunt. Health has been bad just of late, not well enough to need an out and about vape atm, nor well or clear headed enough to make decisions.

So any direction is still on. If the Tubo was there now with a button click who knows what my impulsive nature would have me doing. The wait time for purchase, build etc is an impulsive VAS safety catch lol! :)

I kinda think that's something best answered by FJ, himself. I'd PM him here and/or send him an email.

Welcome to the ever growing team!
Sweet. No worries. I'll email him shortly and see what he ses. I'm not concerned but I don't want the wiring to wear if it's moving lol.
Thanks for the warm welcome too :D

I managed to get a tubo evic on the last drop. From what I've been reading and seeing, I guess I'm in for a treat. Pretty excited!
Are there any tips on how to use on demand mode efficiently? Ive read something about using warmup mode before taking an on demand hit.
What temperature do people recommend for on demand?
Sorry if this has been answered before.

I could tell you how I use it, but I'd be spoiling all the fun. Read some, wait for it to show up and play!

It's only complicated if you make it that way. Run into any problems and everyone here will help.

And save some good stuff for when it shows up, it'll be even more fun :ko:
