I once theorized the same: slower airflow = hotter temps because faster airflow overwhelms the heater. However after measuring temps at various air flow rates, I've found that the point at which the FP heater gets "overwhelmed" and can't keep up the temp is much higher than I can recreate with my own lungs. I believe my own typical draw is ~5 liters/minute whereas the pump I ran my tests with was over double that. So in this instance, the slower airflow rate in the FP with the carb cap applied actually causes a drop in temperate at the load.

I do not mean it overhelmes the heater (showerhead) but if you pulling air slower trough the showerhead it passes it slower and therefore heats the air more... when you draw faster the air has less time to heat up passing the showerhead... it would be intressant how the temp of the air which passes the showerhead is when it hits the herbs and how airflow changes this temps...
as I say that is all guessing... I could be wrong....

That's interesting, I find the heater does get overwhelmed to the point I can clear my draw simply by breathing faster at the tail of my inhale. I only get a fraction of the vapor density/output if I rip my rig as hard as possible compared to ripping it as slow as possible (uncapped)

Now this may be completely wrong but the pseudoscientific/theoretical how it fits together in my head is:

With carb cap reduces the amount of air particles getting through the heater.
This in turn reduces the pressure in the bowl (less density of air particles = less pressure)
The harder you draw the lower the pressure in the bowl (not a linear relationship but harder draw does cause somewhat less pressure in bowl)

So to me the harder you draw, the more air particles attempt to get through the hole at the same time and more of them get stuck/stopped like two overweight people trying to fit through a single door.

This means the air particles that do get through steal less heat.

Buuuuut less air particles also get warmed so less hot air particles hit you material meaning less sustained heat and less vapour.

Hence pulling as hard as you can doesn’t produce as much vapour

The way I look at it is that air can change temperature quite rapidly as it's got very little mass. So after it passes through the heat exchanger it's as hot as it's going to get and begins cooling down immediately. A slower draw allows the air to cool down more before reaching the load as apposed to a faster draw. Or I could be completely wrong myself!

That's interesting. I'll have to hook up my pump and temp probes again this weekend and do some more testing on temps at various flow rates. TBH I've only run some initial experiments and haven't really delved into this as much as I'd like to. I'll be sure to report back my findings.:science:

Hmm just realized my package came with 1 what seems to be a really flimsy screen. I think it was supposed to come with 5 beamer TI screens. I can't see myself ordering just screens, regular old screens from the headshop should work?

So far it has almost been 24 hours since my last smoking of tobacco from a bong. Since I got my flowerpot I have successfully stopped so far. I found my cigarette tobacco was a lot to try and disgusting for thick vapor so I used wet pipe tobacco at a high temp like 800 and sprinkle the american spirit tobacco in from a cig and then top with weed and I did it this morning and got a nice buzz!

Far less carcinogenic then smoking as I can tell. My brain feels less foggy body still motivated. No coughing or spitting or harsh smells. It is a cleaner rush but ill have to get use to it for health reasons.

Its actually surprisingly far far no joke x100 tastier then smoking. mainly due to the pipe tobacco and vapor. I can taste the weed nicely to. Ill keep playing with the temps but im surprised this vaporizer can sufficiently possibly replace smoking tobacco bong rips. It completely vapes the whole bowl too which to my pleasant surprise is quite large.

before I smoked tobacco from it I brought it to my brothers. He makes 99% lab tested thc crumble for dispensaries and we vaped some flowers and took a nice dab and he said it was super tasty. He did put a lot on though for a vape so even I got super high after he passed it to me. He said he might even end up getting one.

My girlfriend i showed her next before I tried tobacco. I was curious because she didnt get high at all off a lot of bowls of the arizer v tower i purchased previously, but, awesomely she got super baked! we smoked a few green bowls and I got a bit of rosin i had laying around on the end of the carb cap and let her dab the whole thing and she was really high! visually high like in her eyes movement speech. She said she liked it also and she is quite picky especially with expensive purchases so yeah. This vape is actually one of the best, I can not imagine anything doing much better. Im so glad a conduction vape like this exists. I was about to buy a heat gun to use on my bong to simulate the conduction effect but im thankful the online community guided me here!

Yeah I ordered the starter kit the sic one. I tripple checked everything. I got one super flimsy blackish on color screen.

If you can find the same diameter then they would work! I would recommend stainless or ti. If you email newvape they will send 5xti screens. It should have came with the order. I emailed them to double check if I should receive them and they confirmed 5 ti screens are included with the starter kits.

This needs further investigation, i stacked all catchers i got and look where it took me,
i was instant high af and not able to find the post anymore..and why tf do i wait to exhale before i hit the spot loool :D :D :D

Hot damn demolly, ahab!

Maybe I am, I'm not doing it in a mirror or anything but I'll have to, pretty decent stuff and I'm trying out around 550. For the record it's not like I'm not getting completely high off my ass (low tolerance) the FP for me is more like hey I'm here to party kind of situation opposed to I'm just going to get a buzz @Justpassedu

Up that temp a little, not much, and the bigger clouds will come. Even just going up 5 - 10 degrees at a time, I can feel the difference with each bowl. Or slap on the carb, IIRC 580 + carb cap is a good point to be at.

thats interesting about the 5 screens with kits, i received my showerhead kit shortly after 4-20 and it only came with 1 screen as well.

it wasnt that big of a deal, i ended up putting a milaana screen into the post instead, see: https://imgur.com/a/8QKRuUR

Since i needed an 18mm post i placed another order for that, a scoop handle, and 4 double weave screens, hopefully they sit in the groove of the shovelhead bowl a bit better than the beamer screens.

the debowler spike can annihilate those beamer screens..

Yeah I've emailed them, I'm sure I'll hear back from them shortly. If they offer to send them out maybe we can work out a deal I do want the scoop and I could use a few extra screens anyways.

Unfortunately people in canada do em, they are called poppers, totally gross.
I've lived all my life in Canada...the only "Poppers" we have are the "girls" drinks and Alkyl Nitrates and the like...
Never heard of anyone who would do a bong hit with Tobacco and Cannabis. Like someone else said it must of been a European or it was somewhere where Cannabis wasn't abundant, which is pretty much everywhere except mines and petrol platforms and places like that in Canada. Anyways it surely didn't happen in Québec or British Columbia...
But I'd be curious to know where they do that (so I don't end up there hehe) and under which circumstances were they doing that and why LOL

Sapphire Powered Dabstronaut.
Back in the day I had been without grass for quite some time.
I'm at the disc-golf course and a friend of mine whips out a joint of mj/tobacco.
Well I was pretty desperate to get high so I hit that thing hard and held it in, a few times.

About 15 minutes later I was green and puking.

I have lived in canada my whole life. Poppers are not something foreign. Most of my friends in high school do them. My sisters boyfriend does them, my roomate, my coworkers. Its a certain type of person that is into it. Not for me or my close friends but it is very popular in canada east and west.

Lots of Aussies do it too, more in joints(USA call them spliffs I believe) and that is how I used to roll 25-30 spliffs per day= 1 oz pot to about 2 0z of tobacco per week.

I wonder when NewVape will get around to trying to get better international shipping, I am already regretting not pulling the trigger on 4/20 (I could have got a Healthy Rips Fury for the shipping cost)

@exony and anyone else trying tobacco in the FP, in case you guys didn’t know, there’s a thread specifically about vaporizing tobacco. I’m sure the people who follow it would like to hear about your experiences and/or help you dial in the best way to do it.

Here’s a link:

They do fit tighter. The beamer screens are .75”, the double weave are .78” and a lot more rigid.

@jfrsn the screen you got is a standard “beamer” titanium screen, so the 5 pack would be the same. If you don’t like it very much and you get anything else sent to you, you might want to buy a double weave screen or two to try.

The double weave screens do clog easier, but they keep just about everything out of your glass and they can take a bit of banging on the debowler without breaking or even falling out.

I clean them in the bowl though. I think taking them out and putting them back in a lot would wear them out quickly, but they should last a long time left in the bowl.
