Has anyone used a Bunsen burner to heat their VC?
A bunsen burner uses natural gas or LPG, so just like a propane torch it WILL work fine but watch for overheating. I would keep it a little further from the flame.
Thanks. I confess to being pretty flummoxed by adding pics here
We all are until we figure it out. :)

eventually found some Colibri 50 km away in Banff:)
I purchased my butane from Amazon.ca. I bought a dozen and squirreled them away. They should last a good long time and are good to have around as a prepper stash.

During the 420 sales, I got in on @Winegums sale. I've been coveting his ABV funnel boxes awhile now and finally got one. Not the Vape Station model but rather the smaller simpler Funnel Box. I just love it. It's the perfect size, perfectly functional and is lovely to behold.

Hi cyberguy, how about Lake Louise, where I live? :)
Yes, I have been to both and love them both. Lake Louise and Banff are both a piece of heaven.

Down here admittedly I love Rocky Mountain National Park and my ashes will go somewhere up on Trail Ridge Road, but the Canadian Rockies are even more beautiful.

Uhhh... Back on topic (sorry folks) the good news is next time I get up near Estes I won't have to hide my VapCaps and other Accoutrements and will have no fear of getting tagged. I haven't been back since they went full legal.

I mentioned the Wood Database in my thread a while back and have had a customer with sensitivity issues with Cocobolo.

They liked and bought a long stem I'd made from it but intended on giving it to someone else.
I suggested they didn't use this stem just in case.
Even though the wood had been wiped over with Iso and was coated in hemp oil and beeswax I still didn't want them to take any chances.

Most problems are with the dust and I wear an air fed mask whenever I'm turning.

Any dust is bad for you just because it's not from a known sensitizer doesn't mean it's okay.

@cybrguy you will be fine outside and as you are only sanding there shouldn't be any worry of splinters.

A thorough wipe round to remove any dust and a coat of wax to seal the surface wouldn't go amiss when your done.

Here's a 14mm barrel stem I turned this afternoon. I decided to take a step away from metal and return to simple wood on wood for a change. Salvaged Mahogany, Cocobolo from George, and Maple Crotch wood that I logged myself. It's a lot faster this way since the complication of having a hard material near a soft one is hell when you're trying to sand it, (maybe not that bad but a lot of extra care is needed).

On another note, does anyone have one of these caps with the wider radius on the digger and shorter wider lettering? I've been using this cap as a photo cap for a long time and just noticed now that it's different than what I'm used to seeing.

All you cap experts can you ID the era of my Cap?

Beautiful work!! I was actually just wondering the exact same thing about the cap. I just received a ti Blackwood woody S and the cap that came with it is similar to yours pictured and different from the one I received with my Omni direct from DV.

I was so excited to show my wife the new toy and the spinning mouthpiece, I must have missed the cool down click when reheating it for her and combusted on my very first session with it. Now I’m trying my best to clean it and get rid of that awful smell.

This might be old news to many of you but...

I finally had the parts (extra ccd screens and a Ti tip) and time to test a round with a sandwiched hemp fibre and this is just phenomenal. The vapour is so smoooooth, it's unbelievable! And I really enjoy the process of it all!

For anyone that hasn't already seen the post about it and wants to really cool down the vapour without the use of glass check this out.

I used to pop a hemp filter into the bottom of the ti tip chamber, on top of the screen. It worked great but bits of bud would tangle up with the filter and my ABV would have to be nudged out by the digger outter. Now I make a sandwich so my bud does not come in contact with the fiber.

A hemp filter screen sandwich consists of a CCD screen placed into the lowest groove of the ti tip, a degummed hemp fiber filter is placed over it with another CCD screen placed on top seated in the middle groove of the ti tip.

The hemp filter can be made with degummed hemp fiber available from Dynavap. You get a huge amount for $5.

Here is some info on making a hemp fiber filter.

Edit: It will also be great for the ones that are looking for 100% air restriction of off their Omnis. Well I don't know if it is 100%, but this and the omni set to completely closed will give the mouth-pullers what they're looking for.

I'm no cap expert but it sure looks like the brand new one I just got today.
The most recent caps I have gotten, including the 420 cap, have the D in Dynavap snugged right up to the crimp. What I can't tell you, however, is if the laser gets set up each time a run is implemented or if you just load a finished piece of software where everything is already calibrated.

One of these days I'm gonna get up there and have a look, if the boys and girls don't mind me lookin over their shoulder. They're only about 150 miles away by car. :)

Not too soon, tho, cause George be a travelin man...

So, I wish there was a way to quantify this but it will be interesting anecdotally to see how much better the QC may be on the later shipped product. I would expect after the complaints started that procedures would change at least a little. We KNOW they listen to us, and this would provide a good example of that.
It is all a matter of deciding where compromise should be applied to best effect. My money is on George figuring that out. :)

I am encouraged now that the 420 shipment are working their way into the hands of users that QC reports are not popping up and so perhaps the experience i had with my orders, made prior to 420 was the outlier not the norm. Having the tools I was able to hone and polish the rough edges and tighten up the sloppy caps of the items that came my way.

There were requests for pictures. I found the pinch required to get an interference fit producing an extreme oval was unacceptable. Photos show how I achieved a fit similar to the rest of the caps in my collection.

Complete fail posting pic. will try again later.
