I have the same sunshinestore j-hooks that @Winegums purchased. They are great and don't feel restrictive to me. I've used them with OmniVongs (restrictive vape), a friend's Ti Grasshopper with PFE (more open), and the Solo 2 (also restrictive (but not as bad as the OG Solo, or so I keep reading)). I don't find the mouthpiece too be small either. I wash in the sink with dish soap and then ISO rinse. Eventually I'll give them an occasional PBW soaking.
I use the j-hooks dry or through a couple of the different ashcatchers that sunshinestore sells.
I got the 3 tree perc and the matrix perc (it's the item that is either a dumbbell perc or matrix perc) - both at 90º not 45º. I find the Dynavap works better with the matrix perc as the tree perc ashcatcher I purchase doesn't allow the DV body to completely rest tightly in the joint. It works ok, but I feel I get a better seal if I hold the DV in the joint as the MP is resting at where the tree "base" starts (under the joint).
The j-hooks are so inexpensive that I ordered a couple and gave a few to my friend who owns the Grasshopper (also got him a matrix perc AC). When I made my first order one of the matrix ashcatchers had a crack in the joint. Sunshinestore agreed to replace it on a future order, so I ordered a few more j-hooks. I only bring this up because the interesting thing is the newer j-hooks I received are longer by about an inch than the first order j-hooks (with about a month's difference between orders).

Not sure if this is the place to ask, but which pipe do you recommend on DHG that works well with nails and vaporizing? $40> great $50> good

Hi guys, Im looking for aftermarket downstems for my FC-Mod and noticed that all the larged sized downstems are labeled as 29.2mm to 18.8mm joints, whereas the FC-Mod downstem is labeled as 28.8mm to 18.8mm. Would anyone know if something like this would fit in the FC-Mod or would it be .4mm too big?

Id assume it should fit since most vendors refer to 29mm and 18mm as the same, just like 19mm and 18mm as well. But that is just my assumption. Really commenting to make sure the length is correct. Make sure its not too long or shot.
Then off topic, but ive seen lots of reviews saying the China shipping time length has greatly improved and shortened. But, i placed my order over 1 week ago and my tracking still says invalid. Am I assuming too much of improved shipping speeds, or should I message my seller?

I purchased this downstem from stevenlmz79 as a spare when I ordered my FC-MOD base. It's not aftermarket but it fits perfectly. I did purchase this aftermarket downstem from Bang Bros for my S. Black style bubbler from Sunshinestore and it also fits perfectly. Measuring my spare FC-MOD downsteam I think the one you're considering from Grasscity is too long. Based on how Bang Bros measures their downstems I think that this one would fit your FC-MOD. About the size of the joint, in my limited experience 28mm, 28.8mm 29mm, and 29.2mm all refer to the same size.

Thanks guys, my biggest concern was that it was using its own unique joint size, but I guess it could be some formality. @ray_b Im actually trying to find one that's a bit different from the ones that came with the FCMod, as Im curious if the tree percs in particular might cool down the vapor better. After I buy an aftermarket downstem Ill report back here my findings.

Please do let us know what you find. I searched and searched and only found the shower head type in the 5" length I needed.

I know those drop downs are said to be junk but it holds this heavy flowerpot setup just fine. Usually I can take the drop down out and tip it upside down and drain the built up reclaimed oil after a session and it's heated up thoroughly. The drop down also does well to let you know how well you're driving yer carb cap =) as the vapor density is clearly seen.

Does anyone know the difference between Z and N adapters (drop downs)?
I'm specifically looking for one that will fit a dewaar style joint. The only success i've had is from my local HS that charges double what it's even worth. It appears as if the male joint can be found in "tall" somewhere?
