Daily smokers, why are you still buying China glass?

I am still buying cheap China glass because it is a step up from an orange juice bottle with a garden hose with an aluminium foil cone. :) Just kidding, I like that DHGate post to other than US, and of course the price, variety and being able to buy from one place.
One other reason to get of DHGate is that the do not release your money to the seller until you say all is OK. I just got a D020d that had an almost straight mouth piece, not unusable but not great, so I settled on paying US$13 for it, quartz and titanium nail and all.

I use my affordable (not "cheap") china glass guilt-free....sorry...

I've bought plenty of overpriced American glass and broken it like most here. If I was rolling in it, I'd maybe buy more but I'm on limited income these days...

China quality is much better than what most give credit for if you buy smart with FC guidance. I love my DH Gate glass from Sunshine Store.

Well that's a rude thing to say, even tho i use china glass i do not go out and say fuck american glass.

The way i see it this boat is big enough for all of us, and no one should have to "Try and be more careful" if that's not their thing.

Anyways,

I use glass like a worktool, being careful, what a buzzkill

Well the forum is called fuck combustion so I wouldn't say its that rude

Next, paper plates are unacceptable for eating your food, you must by borosilicate glass made from your local science supply store and sapphire forks and knifes. I mean we're eating every day guys, 3 times a day at least if you're not down and out!

I use China plates, Sheffield steel knives, handmade Damascus steel chef knives???

Whats funny is half the people on here buying the China glass spend thousands on vaporizers and weed worrying about what material is in the airpath and if the weed is pgr free. Then go a vape through a China rig with lead paint on the mouthpiece

If you're so worried about breaking rigs why not use those silicone ones

I didn't and still don't dab much.

When I started making rosin I was broke but needed to sample what I was making.

A cheap Chinese rig was 100 CAD. A cheap locally made rig was 200-300.

Pretty simple choice. I have traded with local glass blowers since.

People buy what they can afford. The guy driving a beater car down the street didn't pick it because he liked the colour of rust.

As for the disreputable labour, it seems people have a variable moral compass. Anyone here sporting an American or Canadian made phone? Computer? Clothes?

@VapourHaze Hey mate, not wanting to take this off topic but you grab my attention when I read that you're getting local UK glass under 100! Honestly, please share some of your connections. I've not had much joy finding UK blowers and would like to grab something under 150 or so...

I get the OP's point about amortisation and enjoying a bit of finery made by a local artisan, wherever on this planet earth you reside, no matter how far from the North American continent you may be... I really do. But just as he did not consider the world beyond his borders, no thought was given to those with medical conditions and the fiscal realities & priorities those individuals typically have to face.

People need to get what is practical for themselves, for whatever reason(s). We all come to this fabulous forum for individual reasons, and to nurture all of our individual acquisition syndromes in this crazy little obsession called Fucking Combustion. We shouldn't start shaming each other for our respective crazy!

Surely there's got to be room for everything that everyone is crazy about, yeah?!

Choices in vape gear usually comes down to personal preferences and situations so everybody gets to have what pieces they want for whatever reasons they have and they are all right.

EXACTLY!

Would I like to get all my clothes made by a local taylor, rather than buying shitty clothes from the discount rack at Big Lots? Of course I would! Can I afford it? Hell no.

Would I like to support local artists and get my glass nice, thick, local, and hand-made? Of course I would! Can I afford it? Hell no!

Sorry if I'm too poor for your standards, OP. I guess I'll go try to be less poor, else I feel like a lesser person because I can't afford fancy glass........

@pxl_jockey best bet is to get on Instagram. For upto 150 check out Glass Charlie, glass haze, jam solo glass works. Also there is a UK glass blowers Facebook page. Where people auction of stuff. This is my point, if you're savvy you can get great art for little money.

Im not about price shaming people and if you cant afford it then that's fine. What i don't get is people who have lots of money invested in vapes and weed, gadgets etc but wont spend on glass.

It's been a while since I've been on FC, but it seems like there is a ton of china glass being used by people who know the superiority of vaporizing, but continue to opt for cheapo glass that is being marked up 10 times what it should.

You smoke every day but don't have nice glass.

American glass is all price ranges. Anywhere from less than $50 to $50,000.

Why not find you something made locally that is pretty dope for a decent price. That up and coming glass artist will remember you if you treat them right.

If you look hard enough you could probably find a nice American made piece for less than that China rig you bought from the local smoke shop.

Is it the concern of breaking your expensive glass? If so, what has caused your glass to get broken in the past?

DH Gate was the entry point to my addiction. I was getting Steven and Sunshine store pieces. and then I found a Chinese "Artist" making quality, US Colored rigs like Kleins and straight fabs! I saw his craftsmanship was a lot better and I really loved the colored glass! I was hooked. Unfortunately, the market for $300 colored pieces made in China is not a big one due to the stigma we are discussing here. But that did get me addicted to heady glass!!!!

I used to buy tons of Sweatshop glass. It functioned really well actually! Well, some of it did? I did feel bad that I was perpetuating slave labor and stolen designs for the most part, but not enough to stop! lol. What made me switch was the appreciation for the actual artwork! I don't think of my pieces as just water filtration, the beauty of each and every piece make my whole vaping or dabbing experience that much better! I get SO EXCITED when I am about to switch out my "rig of the week" to use with my enail and Liger, my main way to medicate.
I follow a couple of thousand glass blowers and buy at least a piece a month, I have gotten a cool little colored piece as low as $30 at auction! Some did cost over $1000 but you don't have to spend that to get an awesome piece!

In fact I just got a piece today! A new Coojo Glass swiss donut from a fellow FC member.
That brings up another point, most US glass is highly resellable.
Point is vaping or dabbling out of a beautiful piece of art really can improve your experience, and yes, when you have a beautiful $1000 rig in your hands even the most clumsy people are usually VERY careful. But if a $1k piece isn't for you, try a $200 US piece instead of your next 4x $50 China pieces and you won't be disappointed. And if your budget is only $50, look hard enough and you will find that too. Or buy a Chinese piece and you will probably enjoy that also.Because glass is kinda awesome! and addictive.
No judgment if you use Chinese glass, I have bought plenty. My FC-UFO and FC-710 are still going strong!

@Ramahs Dude, you had the whole FC forums at hello. I'm too poor too, I guess that is what I'm saying whether it's $30, $300, $3000.... Everyone has their range they're comfortable with. Lots of members have some pricier rigs and DHGlass. Heck, even our very own @mrbonsai420 who has put together an amazing AMAZING collection, loves the flavour he gets from his FC-710 the best IIRC.

HA, Just talking about the man and he weighs in! LOL, ima shut up and listen.

EDIT: thanks for the names @VapourHaze ! I'm not IG-savvy at all, just learning believe or not. Such an old geezer...:disgust:

If you're on fb check out the UK glassblower's page. But tbh i would recommend getting on IG as the UK scene is more present there and its easy to just DM people and start conversations.

I guess the OP should go tell some of the popular vape-reviewers, like @ohmygodimsohigh, that he and those like him should be ashamed of themselves for using that DHGate CCG Fab Egg rig garbage, or the other china-glass rigs that I see him and many reviewers like him using in their reviews. It's not up to @sevenhundredten's standards, and he better make it right before we all notice he's using such TERRIBLE glass!!!!

Don't forget people, @sevenhundredten is not happy with your glass that you already love, and you should be ashamed of yourselves for not having the glass @sevenhundredten thinks you should have!

Sorry for being so abrasive, but it really gets under my skin when people put others down just because they can't afford the high-end level of products.

I get it. We're poor and you're not. Enough already. Lets just all get stoned and stop putting each other down for incredibly stupid reasons.

How about this...lets all take a moment to enjoy our favorite glass pieces, and even aprecuate others pieces...no matter how much they cost. Because it's about how much each individual loves their own glass. It's not about some people's glass not being good enough for others to approve of.
