GREAT program coming up on CNN this Sunday..........."Weed versus Pills" headed up by Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Nothing new here but it'll be interesting to see what the general public is going to be exposed to, at least those who have access to CNN. The main takeaway on this is that the doctor feels that cannabis could be the answer to the opioid epidemic and that there are studies that prove that cannabis can actually heal the damage in the brain that actually causes the addiction. He wrote a letter to Sessions in regards to this.

How ironic would it be that it's the opioid epidemic that turns out to be the catalyst for rescheduling cannabis.

It's like the world is now learning this community's secrets. And the benefits are not just getting off opioids, there are tons of other reasons to partake in this medicinal plant.

True but focusing on how it can positively impact opioid addiction, I think, could very well be the best argument for rescheduling which would be HUGE step in the right direction.

Gupta has done a lot for our movement and I will watch this if for no other reason than to hope it helps the show get good ratings so the media continue to give him valuable air-time to help him get the word out.

Pennsylvania's mmj program recently added opioid abuse to their list of qualifying conditions, it would be nice for this become a trend in other states' programs.
I hear people talking every time I go to my barbershop(it's a real small town so everyone knows everything about their neighbors) about who's o'dd/in jail/addicted/etc. Very sad and I hope that cannabis can help where other methods have failed these folks. The current method of getting folks off opioids and addicted to suboxone, imo, just seems to keep big pharma and unscrupulous "rehabilitation" clinics knee deep in $$$ without really solving the real problems.

I'd love to see some research in regards to alcohol addiction therapy as well ... I don't think it's that far off from the way it works for opiate addicts ...
