@Ramie121 yes.
Funkyjunky has a batch based building process so that repetitive steps are done in each phase. I guess the tubo demand continues to grow and mine took 5 weeks also (almost a year ago) if I recall correctly.
So not to worry I'd say but ultimately only FJ can address this question.
Tubos take their time but good things come to those who wait :p

My tubo evic has been getting built since 28/03  is this normal?
Mine was ordered March 25 and changed to "building" status on April 1. I know it'll be worth the wait but it sure would be nice to see that status switch to shipped. If things are running slower than expected, I worry for those who ordered this last weekend. It may be quite a while before you see yours.

@NHCheef is your Tubo on the way?

Ordered 03/23. It just finished and will be shipping out soon, yay! I regret choosing economy over priority shipping now. I just hope it gets here complete and unmolested.

For those with a Tubo, do you think the Nomad will blow it out of the water? I'm interested to see what people think about this. I wonder if the Tubo helps with the VAS enough that I won't feel the need to get a Nomad.

Nobody except @Dan Morrison has used a Nomad, so there is no way to compare.

And I don't think they really compare the way they are built at all, everything is from scratch in the Nomad and it is totally unregulated... Tubo isn't the same type of handmade and has many features with its software aside from the regulation. The heaters are different as are the glass stems used, so there really isn't much point of comparison imo (on top of the fact that our orders from the first batch of 25 have not even been finished yet, let alone shipped)

If you are worried about not being satisfied with Tubo, there is no need to fret. There will always be different vapes that have features you like, but the Tubo is such a great all arounder you should not be tempted (unless you want to be!)

@cannabis.pro is right. I'm sure the Nomad will hold its own, I'm second batch, so I really hope so! But to ask any vape to blow another out of the water is asking a lot, especially one like the Tubo. There is only so much to extract, once you're there, it's more about how you want to use your vapes and what fits your style.

From my GH's to Evo, they all offer something different, and that is the spice in my vaping life!

**Edit - @Shit Snacks beat me to saying something similar

I ordered mine 27/3, and have been checking the order status every day since. Especially during the run up to 4/20, haha.

As mentioned by others, it changed to "building" at 1/4, and had its status updated to "building" again but with a comment about my whip on the 10/4.

It just changed to packaging on the 22/4. I'm so hyped!

Already recieved my extra 30Q batteries, charger, and custom vapor cooler mouthpiece from Ddave.

Can't wait!

@Evilevile my Tubo arrived safe and sound on 4/13. Can’t even begin to put into words how much I’ve been loving it! It’s an amazing vape to say the least.

I chose priority (untracked) for my shipping method. My order status was updated to “shipped” on 4/5. So a total of 7 business days to ship from Switzerland to Boston, MA. Not too shabby. Hopefully economy isn’t too much slower. Regardless, the wait will be worth it!!

I suppose it was the wrong term; I should have asked how they compare. What made me say "blow it out of the water" is that the Nomad is 33% more expensive and the wait time is 3-4x as long. The Mighty is only 15% more than the Nomad, so I want to see how it performs.. eventually.

@Aerio Can you please tell me where everyone is getting these DDave mods and accessories? I also want to get a vapor cooler mp!

Does anyone here put water in theirs? I'd be scared to put water above my Tubo. Actually I had a bubbler straw for my Air (that went above it) and that worked really well.

I guess you'd be better off using actual glass for that, but it's not easy to hike that around.

But with this vapor cooler, you might have portable water vaping capabilities?

Yes, I tried that
No I wouldn't really recommend it.

It works and there was no problem with water in the tubo or something like that (only used a little so it stayed lower than most inner tube) BUT it gets really ugly in there and cleaning is not very easy for the cooler.
The additional cooling was also not really worth it, works pretty well dry and taste suffers ofc.

And yeah, instead of the nice brown resin you get nasty spots of... I don't know?
Resin-water-condensate? :hmm:

So try If you like but wouldn't recommend it. :science:

And since I mentioned cleaning, it boils down to shaking some ethanol inside it for a whole while and rinsing for minutes to be sure everything of it gets out. I try to keep it to a minimum.
BTW when making stem milk one should be sure to thoroughly dry the cooler after rinsing to avoid this problem. ;)
:peace:

Don't get hung up on price, cost is vastly different for a one-man operation (also depending on parts used), while something mass-produced can be sold at a much wider profit margin (imo the hybrid session Mighty does does not even compare to handmade on demand pure convection units like these) :2c:

I recommended the tubo in another thread and the person replied that, among other things, the tubo only has a 60 day warranty? Is that accurate? I've never had problems with mine and have had it for quite a while so it's not an issue for me. But that does seem very short.

Its joytechs warranty on the evic. FJ will work with you beyond that I am sure. No need for an official warranty the way he runs this imo

Well I have some sad news guys, knocked my tubo over last night from the kitchen counter to the tile floor. First drop ever for me with this vape, and even worse the bent glass stem I love was loaded. So that is broken and I know it would be fairly easy to buy another one or two, however I am concerned the Tubo itself is now broken...

It is hard to tell, as taste is a bit compromised perhaps due to little bits of AVB inside the heater being knocked loose on to the heater and now burning. However it may also not be heating up properly, and there may even be a crack in the glass heater housing, not sure how it was before but covering the bottom now I can still hear air flowing, so perhaps that is what is affecting performance and the heater is still working... who knows

I will contact you in a message @funkyjunky to see what we should do, this is one of the first ever built and seems like the Evic still works maybe. I think I would need the whole unit looked at, maybe the heater taken apart and inspected, but I don't know how easy it would be to ship this back to Switzerland, especially since it has been heavily used and I am sure there is still plenty of herb in the heater area...

We'll see, wish me luck, I guess I have to rely more on all my other vapes now. It is a shame because I use this one so much for so many things, and I am suffering from some hand issues which make it tricky to use a lot of vapes now. Wishing you all good vibes and times with your own properly working tubos, rip em for me!

@Shit Snacks Hey ! You should give the vacuum cleaner a go.
1. Remove the screen and soak it in alcohol. It is number one suspect for shitty taste. I really hate it when hash gets stuck onto it.
2. Check if anything rattles or if there are glass particles .
3. Put a sock on your vacuum cleaner tube to avoid scarring to the wood.
4. Clean from both holes/sides of the heating chamber.
5. Press fire if there is any smell ,do short bursts and repeat vacuuming till you get satisfying results.
6.If things are really bad like something is stuck into the coils you can try to free the particles with a safety pin and then do burn offs and vacuuming.
As Gray Area said it is not a problem that you get flow from the sides of the tubo.
