The MFLB makers released a silver version for awhile some months back, but currently the site doesn't sell the Nano grinders - just the Finishing Grinder. I have both - I use the Nano first, then get a super fine grind with the Finishing Grinder.

Hi, I've had this device for close to a year and it was put aside for something else. Just recently I had to relook at this piece to see why I bought it in the first place. Part VAS, part intrigue. The design and material used to build it was part why.

I tried some Sage'n'Sour in my LB to break the ice again, then I realized I was higher than what I had been previously used to in a different device with the same strain. So now I'm back at it.

I had been doing research over again to see what I can do to get the most out of my box. I had gotten the hang of it earlier but was abit rusty to start.

This is a major point I am about to make. Make absolutely sure your bud is DRY, and finely ground. I would use my normal grinder to bust up and let that dry for a few minutes and it wouldn't stick to the trench. But, after I grinded normal I went to my finishing grinder to bust up then straight to the trench for a hit. What I thought had been previously dry really wasn't. You have to let it dry even further after using the finishing grinder. So I grind with the finisher and let the fine grind sit in the trench as natural as it has fallen and leave it for awhile. What a HUGE difference! No annoying sticky trench.
Bottom line make sure it's dry. I've heard of Flighters using tictac containers and having to pregrind, so Im gonna have to buy some tictacs soon.

What I love more about the MFLB is the learning curve and technique involved in getting the desired hit. And the idea that we have to rely on our SENSES to interpret the quality of the hit and production of vapor, and having to make subtle adjustments. Having skill with vaping in this piece is pleasurable and fun. And we are not waiting on heat up times and checking to make sure the temperature is "just perfect" or watching the temperature on the display and worrying if the actual piece is matching temperature read. We just stick the battery in and voila. We need to rely on our own senses more, which for myself is a key philosophy in enjoying the Magic-Flight Launch Box. Rely on your own senses and marvel at your own intuition, it's time for lift off!

Yuppers. I couldn't agree more.

It's why I'll always have a MFLB or two in my collection, even though I don't use it very often any more. That's also very similar to why I like My Hydrobrick Maxx so much.

What in the world is in your trench?

LOL right? looks like it came out of a little tin can or something... I pre ground up a little sour diesel and dropped it in my dynavap storage tube before the vapcap, must have gotten a little bit compressed so it all came out at once. I didnt actually try to use it like that, just thought it was funny how it came out in one piece.

RUDE BOY

Space is the Place
Never hurts to keep 'em confused you know.

These days I live is a state of chaos and confusion.

a very off topic example happened about ten minutes ago. Someone came and interrupted what I was doing to ask: "Do you always use salt and pepper on your food in a restaurant?" to which i replied "only if it needs it". which in turn was met with "even in a restaurant?" as the person turned and walked away... I wasn't eating or holding salt or pepper at the time and haven't ever shared a meal with the person asking

Stay happy, Enjoy the vapor.

There's a story like that about Rickover ('Father of the Atomic Navy'), this guy:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyman_G._Rickover

Seems he personally interviewed every Nuke Boat skipper candidate over breakfast. He, a very busy guy, would have staff set it up, often changing details at the last minute. The guys were terrified of course, this even could wash them out (and had others).

He'd engage in random chat, sometimes about the Navy and command, sometimes family, news, sports, whatever. Seldom hard questions expected. With no obvious pattern some would 'pass' others not. It turned out he was only interested in seeing if you salted your eggs before tasting. His stand was 'I want scientists commanding my boats, those who question everything and assume nothing'.

Makes sense to me. In the book I read it in years ago, the author (a successful skipper) held it wasn't a fair test, 'Navy eggs can always use more salt'..........

Best weekend regards to all. I've got my box out, the PA is ready, I just have to pick the strain to tonight. So much to do.

Running low on herb so I turned to the LB to stretch things out....wow. Native hits using year old golden glyphs that were recently refreshed, and the verdict is....why do I have all of these other vaporizers?
VAS is a Chimera? I’m totally ripped and at this rate my supply will make it to the weekend.

I hear ya. When I'm running low, it's either my MFLB of one of my Dynavap vapes to stretch things out as long as possible.

Though, recently I acquired my first log-vape in the form of a Woodscents Aromalog. Log vapes are certainly fantastically efficient vapes. You could vape just a a crumb with one.

I reccomend everyone owning at least one log-style vaporizer. (Woodscents, Enano, Underdog, etc.)

Hi folks have a couple questions. On my walk this afternoon I started thinking how the MFLB is really a "right hand dominant" device isn't it? I mean I am not a lefty but I can't imagine having the same one handed comfort level using my left hand on reversed so to speak MFLB. Has Magic Flight ever made a left handed launch box? Sorry if a repost I tried to search the thread but to no avail. Thanks!

Hmmm...I've never felt any discomfort using it in my left hand.
I'll honestly use either hand, depending on if my other hand is already doing something else or not.
I hold it slightly different in each hand, but I've never found it to be uncomfortable to use with my non-dominant hand. But of course, everyone is different.

Try it. I think it's easier left handed. You can use your fingers to hold the box and (others) to press the battery in. It's also much easier to 'palm' if you're looking for stealth I think.

For sure some things have 'gender'. For instance the classic cowboy gun (like Matt Dillon packs), a Colt Single Action Army. The loading port is on the right side as you hold it so you have to 'switch hands' to unload and reload the gun. Unless you're a Southpaw, like Sam Colt was........

For the initial orders, the Army wanted it left handed since soldiers of the day used sabers as their main close arm (right handed by default) so the pistol went in your left hand (along with the reins for the most part), so John Wayne carried his 'horse pistol' on the right (saber is on the left already) in a cross draw holster for use in his left hand when he wore blue and rode around on a McClellan Saddle (very uncomfortable, but cheap and light) in those Calvary movies.

Anyway, MFLB isn't symmetrical so it's not ambidextrous by design, but I find it more 'natural' left handed. No, I'm not a southpaw. Right handed, left eyed.
