Reclaim - Is it worth it?

I read this interesting study a while ago and thought i would share!
Don't think it has been posted on FC before but if it has, please delete.

This guy tested the reclaim in his drop-downs, scraped out and stored reclaim, Another drop-down and the last was the stuff from a totally clogged with reclaim rig!

Mostly from combustion...I am sure ours would be so much purer!

What do you guys think about cannabis scientists that still combust? Are they that aware of the science of cannabis? Makes ya wonder...

That was from dabbing, that's why the numbers came back so high. The combustion test is here, http://mcrlabs.com/resources-post/resin-results/ much lower numbers. In my limited anecdotal experience with uptemp dabs, it seems to create less relcaim than torched dabs since its heating up instead of cooling down.

I personally dont think that letting reclaim accumulate is cool anymore . I used to vape it but ,now i clean my water pipe and bowls 3-4 times a day which also includes an ethanol wash.I've grown more and more sensitive to detail and flavor profiles trough the years and i find dirty stems,screen,water pipes to cause adulteration in taste,PH of water,and looks like the glass had shitted itself.

I don't save any reclaim from combustion al all.

I used to use reclaim from glass I've only used with Vapor, but I stopped doing that, as I found it not worth the effort.

The only reclaim I save Is oil from the dropdown that I use only with concentrates. I find the effects nearly comparable to the original concentrates, though it doesn't taste as good.

would there be anything wrong with dropping a vapcap condenser in some 151 proof ethanol once in a while, to make a tincture of sorts? sort of like "stem milk" but a tincture. Could run a q-tip through and then stir it.

Agreed.

The only reclaim I've found worth keeping is the condensed oil on the downstem of my oil rig. All of that oil has only been heated once, so I feel its alright for repurposing. I feel most reclaim has faced far too much thermal degradation to consume.

I dont dab so i wouldnt know :). But i imagine it is ok to use that, mainly cause it doesnt require solvents to collect... i dont imagine anyone reclaiming doing a vac purge after that,lol. Maybe the solvent collected reclaim is fine to use as topical salves,but i would rather do stuff from ABV. :).

Research often reflects the researchers capabilities, goals and the patrons interests. For example many positive period studies on cigarette smoking were from trusted institutions. With that in mind I take a long view on research even when it supports something I like.

More reclaim:

Was able to "heal" the redness/irritated skin after removing a pimple, normally the redness would last me for 30 minutes up to one hour but with a small layer of reclaim it went away instantly. Also removes the burning sensation the skin has

So far, I have approx 2.5ml of some quite decent looking reclaim which I've been sucking out of my drop down using a syringe.
I was thinking about mixing it with coconut oil and making some canna capsules.
Can anybody give a guesstimate on how much coconut oil to use please?

I have a sublimator that collects reclaim exclusively. The left over product is pure redish gold and doesnt taste bad. Its very high in cbd and has a good amount of thc left too. Ive used it very successfully as a pain management supplement. Reclaim from combustion however would be laden with carcs.

I collect the reclaim from all my low temp devices, then use the oil in a pad in my ArizerAir, this is the only time I use the high setting on the A/A, I don`t reclaim the stuff out of my bongs because they are usually at higher temps than without.

Personnaly I use reclaim to make my own e-juice after to dissolve it in ethanol, filter, winterize it and filter again. When it's clean enough I usually get 0.7-1.2g I add 2-3 drops of terps, 2-3 drops of liquidizer and some VG/PG mix in order to get a 60/40 or 50/50 reclaim/dilutants ratio. Vape this in a Veco tank and the Dabstorm mod at 12.5W, not very tasty but not awful at all and pretty potent enough.

For me, it all comes down to availability. Back in the black market days, I'd jealously collect and guard reclaim from all my devices like Gollum and his ring--precious! Now, when I can walk to a dispensary a few blocks from my house and buy an eighth of decent flower for $10 (this is what I used to pay for a gram, in high school, in the '80s), I'm much less inclined to save my reclaim.

I got a reclaim adapter I was very excited to harvest and I ended up hating it. Tasted terrible and mixed in was small pieces of residue that doesn't vape (or is very, very difficult to). I've never had such gross, phlegmy coughing fits from vaping before. I felt bad about wasting it so I used it all too which was dumb, it was just awful. The second time around I tried cleaning my d-nail base a lot more and the reclaim jar looks a lot like it did last time, I'll have to vape some of it to be sure though.

Before I had the reclaim adapter I used to just scrape it out of my drop down adapter every once in a while, I don't remember it tasting nearly as bad. Should be the same stuff though.

This is from my first time, I posted it in the glass thread while I was still looking forward to it. Someone suggested I was doing too big of dabs, I tend to do several low temp rice grain sized amounts.

It's value is not in it's taste ;) I end up always using multiple screens and fine screens where available to keep the plant material to a minimum. The fine mesh SS ones that Jojo sells are the bomb btw. And to add to that point, the Glass Symphony has produced the finest reclaim I've ever seen. Unlike any other reclaim I've had which is mostly red like in the picture above, the GS produces the cleanest, most sunflower yellow reclaim I've ever seen. Like I said, using 2 screens, but that honey is just incredibly pure, potent and tasty. I did get a mix of flavors as I had run a lot of strains through it, but no popcorn or burnt at all.

I don't think my reclaim oil from my dropdown tastes that bad. It's not great, and doesn't taste good like the first go-around...but it gets me stoned...and that's what we're all really here for, right?

But I'd save it for use even if I thought it tasted disgusting, because that's money down the drain otherwise. And who knows...trade routs could dry up at any time if too many people in the chain get busted and in jail in too short a short period of time. It happens to all of us, and it can take MONTHS to find a new source to do business with (especially if you had to move to a new town) sometimes. It's largely these kinds of unfortunate predicaments which we inevitably find ourselves in, where reclaim can be a "life-saver"!

Instead of vaping it why not make chocolate milk out of it?
Warm the milk on the stove in a pot and place your glass piece in with the milk.
Remove once clean and add the cocoa powder.
Sweeten to taste and have a hippy speed ball!

It would be a hippy-speedball if you added the milk to strong coffee...otherwise, there's no speed in your speedball. lol
