I love this. Looking forward to placing an order with you in about two weeks or less.

Wow... time warps in Vito land... and there is no excuse.
My brain injury is no excuse for letting things slip.
(actually it is... TBI has caused me numerous areas of forgetfulness that do help me forgive and forget, but do not always help me remember established routine, once attention is divided.)
I was always a log vape fan... no... fanatic!
For about 3 months now, I did not give my wooden collection the love it deserves.
I would like to share how this unfortunate lapse happened to me.
For purposes of education, one new vape after another gets my attention.
It has been a busy year so far. Too many vaporizers coming out so close to each other.
I did forget the simple things, like efficiency while medicating.
I began using vaporizers with giant capacities, and loading a gram...
...yeah, I got plenty medicated.

Today, I came close to the end of one of my jars... a favorite of mine that was grown (and properly cured) about five years ago. I thought about efficiency, and fondly remembered the days when a pinch would go a quarter mile.
HEY- Wait a minute!
These ARE the older days. I still have the same units here!
I looked at the lineup on my log vape dresser (yes an entire dresser...for logs).
My WoodScents caught my eye, as it was conveniently plugged in, and required on ly a turn of the power switch/temp control.
I turned it up to "7", and walked away for a minute or two.
I came back, and felt the unit whose warmth told me it was a go.
As in the past, so many times before, I filled stem, and took a hit....
a cool tasting, but obviously flavorful hit.
Shocked at the amount of thick blue, velvety vapor that poured forth, I remembered.
Woodscents ... I am so sorry that I let you slip into a less frequent position in the rotation.
I am not apologizing to my vaporizer when I say that....
I am saying that I am sorry for my loss, and the days I missed out on using my WoodScents.
Also sorry that I began using more meds than necessary when I had this EXCELLENT unit right here.
Needless to say I have packed a couple of weed guzzlers back onto their ritual spots in the Vape Room, and re-evaluated how smart it used to feel to be well medicated by the awe inspiring punch of a hit from @Ed's TnT 's WoodScents vape (Not to mention my UDs, HI, Zaps, PD, TT, Nano, and CRZ).

I just wanted to come back to say thank you. I finally got around to trying this and it snuged it right up.

In fact, the fit between this Ti tip and @Ed's TnT Wong is the best/snugest of all my dynavap tips/stems! I plan to use this method on ALL my dynavap tips in the future to customize the fit to their stems, except my M, as it's already perfectly snug.

And you can barely tell it's there:

Good morning, not really happy about whats going on with the move and getting the biz up. Have been running into delay after delay on the shop setup. This is really causing me a lot of distress and must frustration. Week before this one I rented a trencher to run the 70’ of electrical.




I am kinda in a low spot where my place is and it has this thick freaking clay below the surface. No way was I going to be able to dig it by hand. A day later a big rain came through and dumper a butt load of rain on us. After a week the trench is still dang near full of water.



Yes I am running the wire in electrical PVC but I cant submerge it in this trench. I have already been through hoops getting the permits to have the buildings in place and gotta have the county approve the electrical work I have done before they will let the power company turn it on. I got the shop mover guys out yesterday to look at my existing building so they would know what I have in order to move it. I told them I would pay extra to have the one they already set moved closer to my service pole and up on higher ground near the existing and you know if you're willing to pay they will do the work so I gotta come off some more cash and loose more time. I cant stress enough how much this is killing me. I am almost at the point of putting my lathes on a couple saw horses on the back deck to turn. We have hella bad weather coming in today, possible tornadoes and hail moving quick maybe 1-2" rain but after that the whole week looks nice and dry so hoping I haven't jinxed it and the shop movers can get my other in place end of next week then I can get power going very very soon after and get my butt to turning. (as I am typing the sirens are blaring down the road)

I will say its not all bad, my wife's last day of work was a week ago yesterday. She was a Jr. High special needs teachers assistant for a couple of years. I cant even imagine how she did it day in day out with 11 boys with all sorts of conditions and boys none the less at jr high age, gosh. You can only imagine what would come out of their mouths and what they would get themselves into but she handled them well with a compassionate heart and caring voice. She would tell me how there were another assistant or two for other classes that couldn't get it through their heads that getting loud and frustrated with the kids didn't help them in any way. She told me her way was to get eye level with them and in a calm voice capture their attention and focus on counting coins or drawing circles when she could. Yes she did have to raise her voice from time to time but for the most part the kids loved her and were going to miss her except for the one boy she told that it was her last day and he said "Yeah well I am a getting a hair cut today" lol. All good boys I got a chance to go bowling with them on one of their Thursday trips. We are getting close to Lane's arrival, doing long days on her feet wasn't good. She is really happy to be home nesting and getting everything in order for him and I am happy to see her smile and be a new mom again.

Had a big multi-county shoot last Saturday, was tough conditions for the boys. 50 degrees, winds at 15-20mph gusting and misting rain most of the time. They boys all nutted up and advanced to their district shoot. Oldest placed 2nd in .22 pistol one arm iron sights/3rd place .22 rifle iron sights(even though they gave scope/optics back to them all this year and more than half of the kids were shooting scopes at 6th power)/13 out of 15 at skeet. My 14 year old got 12 out of 15 at skeet. Youngest got 1st place in 10m Air pistol. He would have done better at rifle had he not been shivering cold. Really proud of all our kids in our club and look forward to our district shoot on the 28th. Had one today get canceled due to the weather.

Still working on gathering parts though and coordinating all that. When I do get to turning I should have everything in place. Still working on getting wood as well. My wood dealer a slab on Buckeye 5'x3'x3"




Its by far one of the most expensive pieces of wood I have ever bought, there has only been one time I have spent this much money for a slab or chunk. Thing is its wet and is going to need some drying ughh. I know there are other people out there selling this in slabs but I dont have relationships with most and the few others I do I cant trust the pieces they have and have been burned in the past. Its awful hard to drop this kinda dough on a piece and it not be what its supposed to be. I trust my guy and will just have to wait it out for it to dry. Going to get it in, slab it up a bit over size and hope it dries quicker. Also got my other guy the gem hunter searching for jewels, cant wait to see what he comes up with.

Yeah not turning is killing me, the longest I have gone without doing so was when I did the road trip with the boys. Yes getting behind on the work load sucks a whole lot but sitting on these stunner blanks knowing that they will turn out amazing pieces and the joy in doing that is what bothers me the most. My heart is at the lathe and my mind is always turning wood.

@Ramahs It can sure be a PITA if you dont have the air path out of the unit and can manipulate it that way. If it works then work it bro. You cant go wrong with Aezhenns work, the stands are just a glimpse at what he can do, he is so talented, the stands dont show at all what he is capable of. Glad to hear your tip is snug and tight also.

Well, I promised pictures of my Cocobolo and unfortunately I've been busy, but the unit is getting a thorough workout.

It was nice out for a day so I fixed the office chaos problem by ignoring it and shooting elsewhere:

No words needed, I'll just let that speak for itself.


Now, things.

I mentioned that I had purchased some 10mm dia 8mm ID glass tubing for testing as a stem with the TI tip. I liked this configuration both with and without the condenser pushed inside (as in the above pictures) for stem use but there is one rather significant issue with the 8mm ID glass tubing: consistency.

I purchased 15 tubes of this diameter and varying lengths (they came in packs of 5). Of these 15, only 4 actually fit the tip in either end. This is partly my fault as I instructed the seller to flame the ends to smooth things out, which mostly just blew the already tight tolerances I was working with, but the variation can be more than you might think that issue aside. The 10mm dia 8mm ID tubes are also quite brittle around the tip area, I broke 2 in the process of testing. I haven't tried getting some 12mm dia 8mm ID tubing which would inevitably be more rugged for these purposes but I haven't gotten around to that yet.

I can't say I recommend 10mm dia 8mm ID though, a bit brittle especially if you're bad with glass (I'm exceptionally careful and I still broke 2 so extrapolate that as you will ). I can say I do like the 6 inch length for the stems though I suspect I would like the 8 inch better, the problem was all 5 of the 8 inch tubes I ordered didn't fit the tip so no idea at present. Anything longer than 8 starts to get silly though, 8 seemed like it would be the absolute length limit while maintaining comfortable use.

Note that I was also able to use the original glass stem that came with the WS with the TI tip, I just stuck it in and the buffer O-ring was seated enough to create a seal and keep the tip mostly secure with careful use.


Now, you may ask, "why didn't Ralph order some of the 12mm 8mm ID tubes?" Well that's because I started hitting the woodscents through water and that avenue of inquiry fell to the backburner.

Early on I ruled out straight stem or GonG adapter + basket screen after I first tried the TI tip, the extraction didn't compare at the same heat levels so I religiously stuck with TI tip for all my experimentation. I encountered a problem quickly though, my collector OCD kicking in. I love the way those wood stems look and I didn't want to get them all sticky on the inside, so I pondered my options.

Coincidentally I received a care package from George roughly concurrent with this experimentation so I decided to figure out what all I could put together. My initial attempt was to take the 14/18 WonG and put a condenser in it, the only issue being that I only had an XL condenser, so I ended up popping that in with a spinning DV mouthpiece attached and put the tip on the other end. This worked extremely well (it was about here when I noticed the Woodscents had supplanted the Flowerpot for regular use), but looked really odd and getting the tip out for cleaning was a bit of a pain as that built up reclaim between the condenser and the tip was significant after a couple weeks and as the condenser stuck waaaaaay up into the tip due to its size, that was a lot of sticky contact to deal with. The first time that the condenser was stuck to the tip significantly enough to completely detach the mouthpiece I knew this was a temporary solution so I had to get my MacGyver on and think outside the box a little bit (condenser came out with the tip...the mouthpiece ended up staying behind ).

I went to the hardware store to pick up some other things and do what I do whenever I need to MacGyver something: contemplate the problem in the "random hardware" aisle with all the drawers full of fiddly little stuff, usually with a pair of calipers. I started looking for random washers, thinking in terms of shimming the tip for a glass adapter of some sort. Almost everything was too big so I took a flyer and picked up a dollar's worth of smallish rubber gaskety things, only to get home and realize Ed had already sent the perfect shims: the orange high temp O-rings intended for the heater post. He'd also already sent the perfect adapter: the GonG intended for basket screen use.

Now, your mileage may vary as I suspect glass tolerances may interfere in some cases, but after about 20 minutes of fiddling with O-rings and the GonG looking for the right configuration, I found a way to fit the tip into the GonG, and it was a snug fit, not wobbly at all. Specifically, remove the middle O-ring on the tip, and the buffer O-ring nearest the business end of the tip, then slide two orange O-rings into the positions formerly occupied by those grey DV O-rings, and carefully push the result into the business end of the GonG adapter utilizing a slight angle during the insertion to make it under the "lip" of the GonG's business end, you can adjust it straight once it seats, like so:

This has been by far my favorite method to enjoy the Woodscents. I usually rock that on 8.5 - 9 and that's completely replaced the Flowerpot unless I'm speed-bowling, milks up the glass really nicely. The result is just smoother for me. The Flowerpot has this tendency to irritate part of my throat on the temps that I like and the Woodscents simply does not. I suspect this has more to do with heater strength in combination with draw resistance over time than anything, but bears mentioning.

The only other mod I've done is to take a silver paint marker and pretty much coat the dial on the VVPS with silver, which makes the numbers on the dial pop a lot more visibly.

@RalphsBlend So, beauty woodscents you got there. But was all that because you didn’t want to use the wooden bong connection because of fear the reclaim would ruin it? Or does the ti on glass somehow change it for you?

Glad you got a work around for it but man lol. The wooden tip works really well and is super easy to keep clean. I haven’t tried any of the glass items yet. Wonder if they work any different now. I mainly use my omnivong.

Also I would love to hear more about this vs the flowerpot if you don’t mind. Even over PMs to keep Ed’s thread clear. I hear a lot about it and have a hard time believing I’d like anything over my woody

I strongly suspect it is for the same reasons most others have also previouslt stated that that they gave up on the glass stem/wpa because they all felt they just got better extraction with the Ti tip. Mayeb also easier to load/unload. Possibly works well with a slightly lower temp, and of course it makes a better automatic seal too. I know Ed sent out red orings to seal the glass stem and wpa but I dony think thay was enough to make it a hit and the go-to.

That said...please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
@Ed's TnT hiya bro. Hang in there man you are tough stuff for real! Your life is sure hard as anybodies in terms of pure slog, effort, will power, sacrifice and determination required every single day I imagine. You definitely have to keep focus don't you, and know it is all worth it to get through each day. I am sure you dont even have to ask that question, but I bet you do wish it could all be a little essier, and let up occasionally.

We can have such vastly different lives, yet still have strangely similar experiences. Like the intensity and forever ceaseless and strenuos demands of managing my condition/allergies/infections etc 24/7/365, I feel can be likened to the neverending intensity of your frantically busy work and family life. Crazy to say I know but I feel it. Im sure you wouldn't want to swap, but I can tell you now that neither do I!!

No way, you're just too damn busy for my preferences. You keep hold of those reigns the deal's off.

Always remember Ed- you get out of life what you put into it. And you Sir have put more than could possibly even fit- and I mean that literally too. Could you possibly fit, or put anything more into life? The answer is "No" I believe, by your own admission.
And how many people can say that? Less than 1 in 1000 surely!

And to me this is what it all boils down to. You are one of life's great workhorses and life naturally wants to put you through your paces to keep you tip top on your toes to achieve everything you are capable of and destined to.

All of this I really believe. I am a philosopher at heart, a thinker, a visionary. Vision is my gift to help others. So I only hope that this little philoshical perspective can help you find a tiny bit of extra motivation and calm on some level to keep going. I mean, it all makes such decent and undeniable logic, right?

It was about preserving the wooden parts as strong solvents don't play particularly nice with wood. I really like the design of the WonG adapter but it's too pretty and I'd like to keep it that way.

With the glass mod, I pull the tip out, remove the O-rings, and throw everything sticky in a bag of ISO to let it soak, whereas with the wood I know how the cleaning process would go if I'm doing it with preservation in mind and it's not a quick process. That's just me though, I obsess about original condition for nice things.

The actual vapor quality between using the TI tip on the WonG adapter and the GonG adapter mod didn't strike me as noticeably different, and both were great, which makes a certain amount of sense, both use the same tip.

@Alexis is absolutely correct about the reasons for me using the TI tip, at the same heat settings, much better extraction compared to just a basket screen, and as a result, a smoother experience for the same level of extraction (as less heat is required).

I'll PM you if you want to hear a more detailed explanation of my comments about the Flowerpot v Woodscents.

I would never use solvents on my wood vapes anyway. I've never found it needed it. With things like my Hydrobrick Maxx, with it's all-wood pathways, I just run a pipe-cleaner through it once in a while. All my other smaller wood bits, I just use pipe cleaners to brush their insides off once in a while. That keeps them clean enough.

Point being, you don't need solvents with wood.

First thing I did when I got my WoodScents was spend $20 for a standard and xl condenser/o ring from Dynavap. [edit: standard condenser fits in the water pipe adapter, xl condenser fits in the direct draw wood stem]

Keeps the wood spanking new as all reclaim etc goes into condensers which you then just chuck in ISO

Dynavap is actually doing their 420 sale now so you could get those two parts for $16 with free shipping at the moment. Very worth it in my opinion

Yeah that was the first thing I did, I used it that way for quite a while and it was great. That said, it had a tendency to be difficult to remove with the amount of reclaim that built up between the condenser and the tip, so with the GonG + tip producing the same results while less fiddly to thoroughly clean I settled on that.

I'll check out that 4/20 sale though, I was looking to pick up a couple things anyway and condensers are cheap.

Good morning everyone, am making a little progress after Mother Nature held off on the rain for the week. I dug another trench closer to the service pole, was sure not excited about it after the first dig of the shovel into the ground. Water began to fill it and was like hey this is it, gotta make it happen. As I said I have done residential electrical before but never in water. Had a lurker here email me, he is a master electrician and gave me some encouraging info and advise so I gave it hell. My trench is about 26' x 2' deep. Was up to my knees in water shoveling clay mud and water from it only to have it full of water for a couple days but as the wind kept blowing and the sun stayed out it dropped to about 3-6" of water so by end of the week I had my oldest helping to bend the 4 awg wire while I slipped on the PVC pipe and fittings. I put a few heavy concrete blocks on top of the pipe just to hold it in place since I have a big storm coming last night and covered it up.



Ill tie it in the meter base this week and hopefully the shop movers will get my other building moved this coming week where they said they were slammed all last week.

I have been snagging more eye popping burl blocks last week, if you wanna have a look check out my IG for the posts and if there is anything you may wanna do hit me up and lets go from there.

My guy in France is working to find out cost and process for the 3rd party CE testing right now, we are about to nail it down and get that ball rolling ASAP. Its the biggest part of this process for the CE and once its done it should be down hill then. Going to be a big investment but one that I am sure will pay off in no time at all.

Have the big district shoot with the boys this coming saturday, so anxious and excited for the boys as my oldest 2 if they do well with advance to state. We have never been there so will be fun to make it and if not there is always next year and the ones after that. Did some honey do's yesterday afternoon for the wife. We were sitting yesterday talking about Lane and his arrival. Its been a while for both of us having a tiny little baby in our hands, we are so looking forward to this again. I love the smell of the baby lotion and feeling his soft skin on my nose and looking at his teeny toes lol, what a blessing he will be. I look forward to him wanting to be held and sitting next to me and reaching for me and his mom. My other boys are way to big for that and youngest says he is too big for that lol. Its coming up on concert and festival season woot woot, going to grab a couple ticket to a local festival first of June to see Leftover Salmon, Hard Working Americans, Moon Taxi and others. Then end of June its Tedeschi Trucks and word is Marcus King maybe there with em, ohh so hope so!

This is it, still going at it, slowly making it happen.

@Aezhenn Thanks my man for the encouragement and kind words. We missed the bad weather by a few miles, just south of us they got a little damage and alot of people went without power but all is good and no one got hurt. Slowly but surely the shops will be in place and I will cover the floor with dust and shavings. Thats a beautiful Olivewood piece and I love the name for it, well done as always my man!

@Alexis My man I have some new orings, they are the heavier dark grey to black like used on the VC tips I will be sending out on the 18's and so forth for this. My man you know very well how I roll and know I am all about making it happen come hell or high water I will make do. Your thoughtfulness and encouragement are much appreciated. @Ramahs Bro I too am a pipe cleaner kinda guy, is simple and easy, run it through a few times and back in business I go. I dont have time for sit downs and breaks for deep cleans, gotta keep rolling with it for as long as I can. Beautiful stand you got coming, c9ongrats on the score.

I'd say that the colors (Woodscents & stand) actually do go very well together. I'm quite happy
