Discontinued Lil' Bud by Vapwood

beyond6strings

Just another traveller in the Cannaverse
I was away from my Lil' Bud for a couple of days. I had it with me, but never had an opportune moment to spend some time with it. But yesterday and today I've so enjoyed having the Lil' Bud back in my hands. It's sure made this shit weather we're having more manageable than it otherwise would.

And have a great trip Mike. Colorado is like a second home for me-you're going to love it. If you can, catch some live music in whatever your favorite genre might be-whatever it is they'll have a great live venue supporting it.

Weird, I had a trip scheduled for Denver on Wednesday as well but cancelled it (it's a bit of a rough time for me and the lady friend, figured I should stay in town to patch things up)

Have fun Mike! We look forward to hearing about what you learn from Alan :D

Learning curve day 4 :
I am more confident with my Lil Bud now. I really have pushed the device to its combustion limits ( almost combusted ) so now i know where to stop and how to produce even more vapor without the fear of combustion. Now i can enjoy an evenly roasted load with smooth and dense vapor with amazingly flavorfull first 3-4 hits and then more toasty tasting hits ( not that popcornish, more like a vapcap at 3rd hit like taste.) for the rest of the session. The hint is stirring, something that i forgot to do :). Last night i managed to get almost 10 hits ( maybe more ) out of a stem with screen edge set kinda 2cm from stem opening so i can have space to stir. The first 4-5 draws were without stirring and then for the rest i was stirring after every draw. That way i managed to get almost 10 hits out of a stem with nice quality vapor. Really excited and happy so far. Using my air and solo stems makes a really nice alternative to try out. I ll buy some glass 19/22 stems to try out and i definitely have to try this with my bong.
Happy vacay Mike !

Hey Master Jedhi and the rest of FC. I'm actually on the plane, just took off. Yes, brainstorming will be the order of the day - that and a little R and R. This is a big day, as the vape guru himself will be trying LB out for the first time. It's going to be very interesting to hear what he's got to say.

I know there is all sorts of drama making its way around LB, but it's easy for me to identify the untruths. It's simple for me to know, as I have NEVER pitted LB against another vape, made any comparison, or really ever knocked another vape or manufacturer. People have asked for comparisons and I just talk about Lil' Bud. In all honesty, I don't care if you don't want a LB. Really, no hard feelings. I am not trying to take over the vape world. I built LB for me, and then a bunch of people liked it. End of story.

Lil bud stands tall on its own as a face melting, instant on demand, pure convection, nothing but ss and wood, no glue, ultimate user control, bad ass, easy as hell to use , not to mention beautiful vaporizer. I work for no one but myself and I love this thing....truly amazing piece of functional art... Cheers!!!! D

Thanks @DirtyD, yeah... I have no employees. This is a solo operation, with a big assist from Alan in the design process, as well as his invention of the coil mesh heater.

Let's talk about batch 4. I got 4 built before I left. Then nuance of a change in coil forming pays off ten fold in the final assembly process. When I pop the coil in at the very end, it's already tweaked. Previously, I'd have to fuss over getting it just right. This makes for a very quick final assembly.

Of the four I got done, 2 were overnighted to Denver, could already be there. The finish on these bad boys is off the chart, as I gave them a blast with the heat gun and a quick buff just before packing away. I included my whole kit, batteries, charger, everything but the actual herb (I'm in freaking Colorado!!!). I'm looking forward to sitting down with Alan and sharing. I also can't wait to explore Denver on 4/20 weekend. Going to try and get some cool pics of LB in action.

Okay... so LB isn't *in action* just yet, but he made it to the hotel room after and extensive workout with Alan. I have no face in Colorado.

Safe and sound, LB has made it to his hotel room, resting up for a big day.

@Bravesst Just seen a post on reddit of a deconstructed LB that appears to show green/black mold directly inside the air path and behind the wooden block that houses the button. I’ve been tempted to get myself on the list for a LB but this gives me a bit of pause. What do you think caused this in such short amount of time? These haven’t been out in the wild for long... maybe a downside of having an all wood path?

I cannot comment on a photo. I deal in facts. That poor LB should be returned to me for a thorough examination, detailing why he was dissected in the first place (possible spill). I can tell you that unless you're continuously drooling into the air path, I'm not sure how any moisture would find it's way inside a LB, never mind have time to develop into mold no less.

I'm a calm guy, and the mods will probably delete this, but I am very tired of this bullshit. Lil' Bud is one quality product that I stand behind 100 percent. If you think ill of LB, don't buy it.

If God is the answer, then the question is wrong
Do not let a strange picture bother you. i never seen a mold growing in a dry place, that LB had too much sugar soda IMO

And please stay glass free Mike. Glass not only is fragile but glass on glass ground connection creates glass dust everytime it is used. On a water tool most of that nasty powder get filtered by water, when you use it dry you are sucking some glass dust straight into your lungs each time you vape :2c:

Have a nice 420 week end with Alan

like any other "wood" , you got to pull it out , let it dry once in a while :myday:

The person who posted that on Reddit later posted that it was purchased on entexchange, Reddits classifieds I presume. Therefor no real way of knowing what happened to that Lil'Bud unless OP comes forward and tells us who it was purchased from.

I don't see how that situation could have happened under normal use or conditions. Don't need to know vapes to know wood! It does look like it was soaked , left in fluctuating temperatures, high humidity settings.

I use my LB outdoors in Canada and im not one bit concerned that anything is wrong inside . I always let it come back to room temperature when I come in, case opened , stem pulled out . If it comes to it I'll open it to bust the myth .

Good morning all, still a bit jet lagged (or buzzed from yesterday afternoon with Alan). Up at 4 am (6 my time), sipping away (legally). I'm in a great mood, in a very cool city, taking a break from building all day every day. Meeting Alan has already been an incredible learning experience. We sat there and sampled a couple of Lil' Buds, HI's, iH's, as well as many other incredibly unique vapes that pretty much all knock your face off. Just having LB in that mix made me very proud.

Today, I get a peek at his shop, very cool. It's a new day, and today we stay *above it all*.

@Bravesst - This is my first participation on this thread, I was not out to attack you nor did I speak ill of your product. I only meant to raise awareness of this issue to you, and to the community. The way you responded was very unprofessional, and a bit concerning. The health of your customers shouldn't ever be described as "bullshit".

Have that Lil' Bud sent to me and I'll tell you what it is, and possibly how it got there. It's pretty simple, send me the unit and let's get past all the bullshit.

Wow. Mold growing in one of your products is far from bullshit, no matter how it happened. Great response to an (ex) potential customer.:wave:

If my response seems a tad out of place, Bravesst edited and shortened his above response to be less aggressive and rude after I replied.

Please do not assume what is to be proven. We don't know that it is mould and we don't know how it might have gotten there. Likewise @Bravesst, I understand your frustration but please don't call another member's post "bullshit", especially when we don't know what's happening here.

Notice how the screen on the table is all darkened ? I use my LB at least 3 times a day and my screen is nowhere close to being that color . Something out of the ordinary obviously happened to this LB.

People saying "it's because it's all wood " Offer no reason to back up that theory.

Don't you agree that unless the person contacts Bravesst and sends the unit back , there isn't much he can do ?

@pakalolo , correct me if
I'm wrong but @Bravesst didn't call another members post bullshit , he is (from What I read and understand ) referring to the Reddit post .
Scion seems to be quick at calling out Bravesst for something that is out of his control . Builders have no control over what people do with their products or over what condition a second hand vape purchase might be in.

I've edited out the provocative part that just prolongs the feud between the two camps.

I can't assume that @Bravesst was referring to the reddit post. I have to deal with appearances and many readers will make the assumption that he was referring to posts here. Also, please remember:

Looool. Reposting a pic rom someone else is not a fact. I could leave my lil bud outside the house in high humidity conditions just to grow mold and then post pics here accusing the product just to harm. Reposting pics without facts is unethical and u have no rights to do so. Especially since you are not the owner of this unit and there is no one to tell us wtf happened there.
Chill n Lil guys !
