Does the Tera's power/temperature management firmwear measure and regulate peak temperature of the outer ceramic core and the internal hearing rod to keep it forever and always less than 572 F / 300 C in all cases? Is it affected by the user's choice of 18650?

Just curious.

This is nonsense. Please go back and read my post carefully. Also, I remind you of this rule:

You might clarify in your rules that not only are public discussions about decisions of staff banned, but also discussions of the rules themselves.

The refrain so far has been staff isn't making a decision here, just doing what the rules require. Which seems accurate, taken formally and literally.

But I think people are a little surprised they can't discuss the rules, which seems a bit more strict a standard than what you quote above.

Btw, isn't it time to move the Tera thread out of the "unreleased vaporizers" subsection?

Again you are incorrect. Many forums have a zero-tolerance policy of "no discussion of boards on the boards", but FC allows discussing the rules in the Community forum.

This looks like a deliberate attempt at martyrdom for responding to my post quoting the rule. I'm not falling for that, but I am telling you right now that one more public comment along this line will earn you a warning point.

Has anyone tried the new verzion? I'm wondering how it tastes and vape s compared to the first....What else is diffetent, the screen can be flipped and the wpa, anything else? Is there still a concentrate mode?

Eric indicated that they also placed PTFE around the "insulator on the outer ceramic core", which is pictured @ extreme left.

Obviously, the use of this material is for insulation. But any theories on, for the ceramic heating rod, why insulation is required, and why insulation seemingly on just a portion of the rod?

I preordered a Tera the other day since there were some pretty crazy deals, and while I am definitely concerned about the PTFE thing Boundless already did a recall when their first Teras were found to have problems, so if there is any cause for concern with this one I think they'll be inclined to make things right, especially with how much attention the issue seems to be getting from people. Very eager to see what they have to say about it.

I doubt, that the temperature of 500F is meant to be the air temperature. I think, they mesured the temp on the ceramic or the metal coil. So it should be ok for the ptfe. And for people like me, who just vape herbs, no problem at all.

I received an email from Puffitup:

We just got the specifics from Boundless and the teflon being used is type AF which is heat safe up to 680F, much higher than the maximum 500F of the Tera. We're expecting an official statement from Boundless on their subreddit within an hour or two with more info.

Though I would pass this along. Based on this I would presume they used Teflon AF 2400.

That sounds encouraging, temperatures that high mean even concentrate mode would be safe. I'm feeling better already, hope their official statement makes the situation clear, the Tera sounds pretty awesome and I wanna be able to enjoy mine when it comes Saturday. :nod:

Safety is a big concern for me so I appreciate the discussion about air path isolation and what is being heated in the hot air path in a particular vapes design decisions. I like my CF but was really let down by the CFC for safety and quality reasons. Not considering the Tera.

I got my Tera this morning through Vaposhop. The people there do great service I have to say. They gave me isopropyl wipes and swabs along with the Tera.

After charging the batteries and two or so burnoffs I have to say it seems fine! Theres a bit of that new product smell. I had trouble finding any offgassing, just a tiny bit of burnoff vapor at the start.
I'm not going to touch concentrate mode so I think I'm fine anyway.

The S&B capsules fit great! They do get the Tera hot though. The heat of the capsule conducts to the mouthpiece.

This is insane. Just ordered my tera from PuffItUp and supposed to arrive tomorrow. Just got an email from PuffItUp asking if I'd like to return my Tera, my 2nd Tera, because of the concern of the teflon....! I'm just amazed that this can happen Twice and you would think that BNDLS would be extra careful this to around to get it w but but this new material can't even handle the heat of their device! Do they manufacture these things, send them out and then research the materials? I would love to know how this happened!? I really don't want to send my 2nd Tera in and if I have to, I'm done with BNDLS. I don't plan to use concentrates or use it above 450f, so maybe it's ok!!!?? One thing is the temp of the actual heater core is probably much hotter than the set temp, so I'd like to know exactly what temp the core is when I've got my tera set to 375f or whatever, so I know the Teflon isn't reaching that maximum temp it can handle. What's the deal? Is this crazy or is it just me?
