Discontinued The Grasshopper

Still on my same hopper from October of 2016. Runs great....I think. Haven't used it in like 3-4 months. Maybe I should see if it still works lol.
My thoughts on your super hopper

Eventhough I am no fan of the Hopper, because I consider it too hot for being used native by me, which totally ruins the on-the-go premise ... my Hopper still worked last time I used it.

Bought my TI Hopper through Vaposhop in June 2016 and it still works (I guess it does, used it about 1 or 2 month ago).

I normally try to not comment negatively when most things have already been said, but when I watch this thread every now and then, I wonder that the Hopper has such a loyal fanbase.

I consider the Vape flawed in many ways. The Hopper gets kinda hot on the mouthpiece that I either have to be careful when drawing or use the silicon sleeve not to burn my lips, the silicone sleeve gets dirty and does not invite to use it after a while also does it take from the stealth effect that the Hopper has, Vapor is much too hot for me to use the Hopper native, the batteries only hold up for 2 to 3 bowls, using the Hopper in public draws more attention then for example a Flowermate, because it is very long and drawing while clicking off the device is not possible for me in a stealthy way ... and Hopper Labs is so intransparent with their information policy ... since always they are communicating "good news" regarding reliability, delivery and so on but never keep their timetables or their promises. I understand the difficulties in having a business and make it work but with all the unreliable units, the Hopper does not give the imppression of being a product ready for the market but a beta unit which still has to be worked on, eventhough it is in the market for about 2 years now.

To be honest, I think the initial idea behind the Hopper was the proprietary Battery. Like shavers and printers, sell the device for a low price and make the money with the Battery (shaving blades, printer cartridges). The Battery of the Hopper will never be able to vape 5 bowls, so one needs more Batteries and because of the fast degradation of the Batteries you have to order new Batteries every now and then. Even the lifetime warranty makes sense with that in mind. If the Hopper is really working reliable at some point, Hopper Labs will become a Batterie Company. :freak:

With all that being said, I was really hyped up about the Hopper back then and I also liked it using it through a small bubbler but the reason for buying it was the stealthy on-the-go aspect which did not work out for me personally. But at least my Hopper still works (though it rarely sees any use since the end of 2016).

Just wanted to let you guys know that there are still devices that did not have to be RMAed and that there might be hope for the fans (just had to rant while letting you know as well). :D

:peace:

I must have tough lips. I use the hopper natively on 5 all the time and have never been burned. And when out and about you don't have to click it off then continue drawing. That's basically just a precaution some people came up with to possibly extend the hoppers life. I don't think it actually says in the manual to do that.

Same here I use mine natively 99% of the time and never found it uncomfortable and I suspect because I was primarily a smoker before the grasshopper I have always enjoyed the vapor quality

Just talked to a buddy I haven't talked to in a few months and that lucky bastard still has a perfectly functioning purple Ti from when you could first pre order after the indie gogo campaign. Never had to send it in once. The Ti I bought around the same time had to be sent in ~10 times lol.

I was an early pre order customer who canceled to “wait out production issues” only to order my hopper last nov. and have it work less then 3 weeks before dying.

Now as to the question of why the customer loyalty, I will say in my 2ish weeks of use the hopper blew away expectations native or thru water and even though I only used it on the go a few times I was hooked enough to order 3 more batteries and to pre order the elusive SS case and desktop charger.

So yes it is in its own league of greatness but also it’s own league of issues that once worked out will yield a great vaporizer someday soon TM*.

Hopefully it will be on its way back soon and I will update on the improved parts

I'm absolutely loving the new hopper still. No hiccups yet, been working perfectly every bowl since I got it and there's been a LOT of bowls. Still no back end heat or flickering lights. I've been taking much slower draws than I used to with the hopper and I'm loving it. I think with the more open air flow (it's slight but definitely noticeable) the draw sensor detects your draw a lot more easily so you don't have to rip it like a bong every hit. Helps with harshness and heat buildup too. I'm able to EASILY take a long slow draw on 5 that gives me a massive satisfying cloud with very very little throat irritation. Flavor is much better with a slower draw it seems like too.

Any one from U.K. Had to do this I'm just wondering how to package it as it's been well used and it's a long way to travel to Colorado

Cheap because not the last time you are going to send it :D

I use those prepaid padded envelope and clean chamber with ISO

Also I only use the PFE and then keep the pen shaped one for shipping the hopper with so everything is clean

Cost me £8 to send back a hopper body (tracked), I just used a normal jiffy bag. I put the RMA # on a post it note inside the jiffy too.

Still waiting on any movement with my 18 month old, OG Ti Bronze that recently failed for the first time.

One month in their hands and still counting.

Glad I have other vapes.

Please tell me this isn't a surprise to you @Baron23. It's their SOP. It's why I got myself a present from the state of WI instead of one from California this December. And so happy I did.

My buddy ordered a new hopper in late October and is still waiting. He's upset with their CS as now they aren't even replying to him (I've been updating him when people have been posting about shipping notices). He already owns what has been identified as a "new style" Grasshopper with the white sensor, which he acquired August/September. He's thinking about canceling the order for the new hopper.

Maybe their new in-house processes are more reliable - but if they only produce 1 vape every x days... :\

Nobody told they were running at 100% capacity. And they have RMAd devices in stock since around 09/17 which seem to be changed first. If all the malfunctional hoppers here on FC are representative they might have hoppers to change/repair in k #. But very, very annoying for sure.

This is indeed frustrating
Although my original pre-order Hopper from WAY back still works perfectly, my batt's are borked, and I can't use the damn thing:rant:
I ordered some new ones on 1st March and they still haven't shipped!
HL havent responded to a request for clarification either (made a week ago) except for an automated response claiming they'd get back to me in 2-5 working days.

This was a pretty simple order without an actual GH, so I naively assumed that I wouldn't have to wait, as all the things I paid for (3 batt's, Ti PFE, glass 18-14 adapter) showed as 'in stock'.

I confess that I don't really follow this thread that closely, and assumed that HL must have resolved most of the gripes by now.
