There are too many things I wanna own lately, can't I just be happy with what I got?

Also being a self employed dirty hippy vegatable farmer and a freelance landscaper does not help :D

interesting thought @PoopMachine , You would prefer it not to lock back? what does everyone else think?

@VaporScript ye a little cocnut lets everything run smoother.

We have started an affilate program if any of you are interested. You can sign up on our website www.chewygrinder.com

i love my Chewy2! sometimes though the spring gets stuck in the locked open position. haven’t figured out why yet or how to keep that from happening.

To be honest, after a member reported a problem with his trigger earlier in the thread, I have not used the trigger. I just open the door and slide the push block back with my finger to load the chamber. However, I have not heard or read about any other trigger issues, so I assume that was an isolated incident. But up to now, I have not missed using the trigger or locking mechanism.

On another note, I have early onset of arthritis in my fingers, hands and wrists and using a traditional twist grinder is painful at times…which is why I love the Chewy. Pushing the button and watching the Chewy do its thing is like “magic” for me, and I tend to overfill simply because it is so easy to use.

If I could make any kind of suggestion, it would be to eventually evolve the product so it is entirely a one handed, simple operation for those like me or others who have dexterity issues in their hands. The current version is not far off, but it takes two hands to open the lid (one to hold the Chewy and the other to open the door). And I struggle to grasp and hold the cap when opening the door, due to my personal issues. However, I love my Chewy as is…it is by far the simplest and easiest grinder for me to use.

I've learned over the years that designs that are accommodating are accommodating for everyone!

Well, after reading all 13 pages of this thread, I'm convinced.

I have searched for years for a decent grinder. I can't twist so it has to be electric. There is almost nothing available. I currently use a Bed Bath and Beyond spice grinder that I modified to work with a power screwdriver motor.

Also, it has to shave the weed, not beat it to death (like a coffee grinder). You totally loose taste when you beat it to death. The Chewy seems to fit that bill.

So, I am ready to order but.....

I have a couple potential issues with the Chewy.

I usually grind about 4 or 5 grams at a time and then roll 8 or 10 joints. That's about a half day for me. The Chewy looks a little small for my needs. Still, not a major issue but it might be nice if you had a jumbo size model. :)

Do you have an eBay account. I didn't see any for sale on eBay. I did just purchase a Chube so I'm anxious to try that.

I can order direct from your links but, is that overseas? Will I have to wait a zillion years for delivery? And, customs? Sorry for the anal "can't wait" thing but that's how I am. ;)

I am in the USA.

Thanks again and congrats on getting such great reviews from the peeps here at FC.

Hi @Hackerman

Thanks for the props. Chewy holds about 2-3 grams. If you need to grind more all you have to do is open the door and pop another bud in. If the market is there for a bigger version then we certainly would concider it.

Dont worry the Chewys ship from Califonia so it would be with in withing 5days.

Well, you just sold another one. LOL I hope I'm as satisfied as everyone else is. I'm sure I will be.

The size is not that big of a deal. Like you said, just refill it. I jumbo size would be cool for total potheads like myself but...... maybe someday. ;)

Thanks for the reply.

EDIT:

Just ordered it.

Well, you will certainly get an earful from me when it arrives. Like I said, I have searched the world over for years to find the perfect powered grinder and one, simply does not exist. If your grinder fits my bill, the entire world will know. They don't call me Telephone, Telegraph and TellaHackerman for nothing. LOL

Shoot, I should have asked for a discount code...... LMAO Darn it. LOL Oh well, next time.

Thanks again for everything, Splat. Your customer service sure seems top notch.

EDIT AGAIN:

Shit, I just noticed that I bought the Cheech edition which is $10 more WTF was I doing. LMAO.... geeze, this is why we called it dope before you called it meds. LMAO That's 2 strikes already. My guess is, this thing's going to arrive broken. LMAO Why me? I don't care about the discount code but I actually would like to change that. I don't need Cheech's face on it at all. Shit, dissatisfied already. :(

I sent customer service an email LOL

Customer service was nice and replied to my request (as far as I know). It has been shipped but they use about the slowest shipping available so it will take 11 days to arrive???? I get stuff from China faster than that. I guess we'll see.

I did receive my Chube..... don't bother.

I must admit, I really like the idea of the Chube. I grind 4 to 8 grams at a time and this easily fit that.

The first test was some super dank and really sticky White. All it did was roll it up into a big cohiba. LOL Totally useless if your weed has any resin on it.

I like my humidity to be 50 - 60% and this grinder simply will not work on weed that moist.

I dried some out overnight and tried it again. This time it ground some of it to a fine powder and left the rest in chucks.

I suppose there might be someone who fits this mold but it's surely not me. This goes into the drawer with the other 50 or 60 failed grinders I have.

I really like this concept and it would work pretty great if your weed was bone dry and you like it real real fine.

I am going to keep experimenting with this to see if I can find any use for it. I grow many of my own herbs and I bet this would make a great spice grinder.

I hope the Chewy performs better than this did.

IMO, the Chewy has the perfect cutting design. Slicing is so much better than beating all the trichs off it with a grinder that spins real fast like a coffee grinder. I have tried several experiments with rotary cheese graters and a Salad Shooter but the tolerances and the stickiness of the resin make it a failed project. If I could close the tolerances of a salad shooter, I would have a Chewy my size. :)

Hackerman,
I don't know how much money per year that you are saving using DHL but.... it's not worth it.

You guys shipped it on Monday (3 days after I paid. Just FYI, the carriers and their offices do work on Saturdays. IMO, it should have shipped Saturday, not Monday).

Since then DHL tracking just says...... Shipped. Approx Arrival April 3.

If you had shipped it USPS on Saturday, I would have had it on Tuesday. 3 days ago. And, I wold have had notices of every stop in between. Some customers might like that. I do.

My way, payment to door..... 4 days. Your way.... 11 days. Wow, almost 3 times longer. Wish I could have paid 1/3 the price. How much can you really be saving. Again, whatever it is, it ain't worth it. IMO

I am the customer from Hell. I expect all 3 (I assume you know what all 3 are). If a company gets a 10 from me, you can bet that they are 110% in Quality, Service and Price.

So far, the customer service is top notch. A 10. Shipping is a zero.

Price and quality are yet to be seen. Believe me, I want a 10 more than you do.

I hope my input is accepted with the intent that it is offered.

@Hackerman I do appologies for the shipping time. We had to change your order from the Cheech and Chong version to standard version which took an extra 2 days. We are 8 hours ahead of you over here in Ireland .

The warehousing and shipping company we use don't work on the weekend. They set the price, the carrier and the shipping times. In your case it was DHL who then passed it on to USPS. There is the option of chooseing faster shipping on our site if desired.

You forgot to ask for a discount code so I would like to extent a 10% discount. I like to look after our FC customers as they have been good to me.

Have a good weekend and dont eat to many easter eggs.

Splat,

I thought I remembered someone saying Ireland. That's why I originally asked about where they ship from.

Thanks for the discount offer. I'll take advantage of it next time. I'll probably also take advantage of the better shipping option. I'm really stupid so I didn't see any of that stuff until after I ordered.

Everything is harder when you're stupid.

We're all good, bud. I'll post after I get it and try it out. Thanks again for everything.

1959 mail order. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery.

Worst shipping I have received on any item I have purchased online in years. I get items from China faster. IMO, you need to fire your warehouse/shipper people immediately and have your orders fulfilled through Amazon. I would have had mine in 2 days.

The package has been 7 miles from my house for almost 4 days.

Regardless of how good the grinder is, I would have trouble recommending your company to anyone else.

Sorry

I got mine in Maine, USA 6 days after I ordered it. Love my chewy. It sucks that your shipping took longer than expected, but these things happen. I am super happy with the grinders performance, customer service, and shipping.

Good thing it's not a kidney or I would be dead by now.

Yet, another day passes with no grinder.

One more day, then it's time for a full refund.

I guess @Hackerman received his Chewy. I got my Chewy this morning already and i ordered on Tuesday. I cant complain with two day shipping and the Chewys actually got here faster than Amazon as they drop off after 5PM for me and the Chewy was here by 1PM.

I have to say that I do like this thing. I knew that i would like it but I was worried about durability after reading this thread but he seems to take care of everyone who has any issues.

The grind from the chewy 2 is tasty. I like the soft fluffy grinds compared to the mashed grind of normal grinders. I think this has become my go to grinder for flowers. Thanks!

Yeah, I got mine. I just got it back together today.

First, I cut the wire and connector to the battery. OMG, every one in the thread has complained about that and I can see why. I did read Splat saying about placing the battery half way in (and, that might work for a young man with strong fingers) but even by doing that I can't hold the battery tight enough with a finger and thumb to press the connector on tight. So, I soldered two small coil springs to the wire and a dab of epoxy to hold it to the battery door. Now, you just drop a battery in the compartment and close the door. Contact is made automatically. 9v batteries are so hard to connect to. So much better this way. The reason I want an electric grinder is because of my arthritis in my hands. I can't use a hand grinder. I sure as hell couldn't hold that battery while I pressed the connector on.

The next thing I did was take the cone to my pal and have him make a replacement with the blades at a slight angle instead of straight so they SHEAR the pot (like scissors) instead of CHOPPING it. The finished results are about the same but it provides for less torque on the motor so I can use a larger cone. Also, I needed the blades slightly deeper the grind is not so fine. The factory grind is probably fine for vaping but for rolling joints it was way too fine.

I really like the reversible feature. Awesome idea.

Overall a very nice design and very well made. I filled it and it took almost 4 minutes to grind enough for 1 joint. Totally out of the question for me but probably awesome for light smokers/vapers who don't consume the 6 pounds a year of cannabis that I do. It fills a small bowl real sweet. A great toy.

I must admit, I'm a little disappointed that Splat didn't even post or PM me to see if I was satisfied. No big deal. He was probably afraid of what I would say. LOL

Overall, I'm satisfied. It's another toy for the drawer but, it's everything I expected it to be and more.

My only complaint is it gets me more high than when I don't use it. I just enjoy using it.

It can be slow to grind if your bud has some moisture to it and also doesn't like stalk much (can't blame it)
The better you load it the better it works.
Also works better the longer the bud has sat in it (drys out some)
