Cruise mode is just TC mode with the trigger always on for a set amount of time. So when you are not drawing and the element is at the set temperature, the power drops to practically nothing (a couple of Watts maybe?) It maintains the heater without drawing much current. But then heat conducts through the glass, wood and SS base etc... which can become problematic over a long period.

When you draw the TC algo kicks in and the power consumption rises. Overall it's quite efficient and actually it's a good idea. It's just that the Splinter was not really designed with this operation mode in mind.

I can't find a price for the Splinter. It says they aren't shipping them right now on the website. I would love to order one. I hope everything gets squared away in April.

I believe it's @pakalolo who sets his auto shutoff for 20 seconds or so. Perfect for cruising just 1 hit.

Also good point earlier on better battery life during cruise compared to heat up cool down on demand hits. Didn't really think of that! Cool the tubo thread tested that!

I cranked the temp up yesterday and got vapor real quick with huge hits. Super enjoyable. Love the different options.

My favorite setting on the splinter TCR170 190c on cruise. Enough time for a few hits and then off. I find cruise allows it to warm up, as the first hit is a little weak. My splinter wood only gets warm, never hot.

If i am looking for true on demand 1 hit vapor i use wattage mode. Seems heat up is quicker from cold.

A cruise in wattage mode does make my splinter warmer aproaching hot. Only tried this once, for a short period and decided not to try again.

I think cruise should be used with caution. Dont cruise for mins at a time and regularly check your wood (oooo eerr). Common sense should be applied here. Although most have common sense, some do not. RBT has to cater for all users.

I think they aren't taking orders while RBT moves. As soon as they are available for sale again i am buying one too. If anyone notices a change on the site and they are available for sale again please let me know. Cheers.

I would imagine the authorized retailers such as @cannabis.pro or @VapeFiend.com in rhe U.K. will remain web-based .

@IAmKrazy2 asked if anyone saw a change to the website then please share.....and so I did. I'm not privy to the intricacies of what this change will entail. ✌✌

Disbelief in media. If you're a media atheist, you would indeed shutdown your website. Also your Instagram feed, your Facebook account, your Twitter account, etc. You wouldn't advertise as that term is generally understood. If you've looked at the instructions included with, for example, the milaana, I'd say that displays a bit of disdain for the medium of user manuals. Is word of mouth a medium? My milaana is a heck of a medium for experiencing flower. My spiritual adviser agrees.

All kidding aside, I suspect @rbt meant media agnosticism. That no medium has a claim to superiority over any other. So they're fungible. In that case, why maintain your own website when there is a plethora of platforms to build on?

IMHO the site's been a fossil a long time. I'd rather he were just building Splinters.

This has been going round in my head a while. This is how i see the differences with the Milaana and Splinter in TC mode.

If you imagine when you press the button on the Milaana the heat grows quick and then levels out forming a curve. The splinter in TC takes that heat curve and chops the off the top bit and the bottom bit. In other words it gets to temperature quicker and does not go beyond a certain point. I know you dont know what real temperature you are hitting in TC mode. However the great part is whatever temperature you are at - its constant.

The splinter in wattage mode is somewhere in between to the two. Wattage does seem to get hotter quicker. So far i much prefer TC mode.

Been finding i do get uneven heating in my load, but only if i start out too hot. I think its better to climb in temps with this vape. Start off low and get hotter.

On another note - been building a DNA mod. So far i honestly dont like it. Too big and the not as good as my Evic cuboid. Gonna see if everything is working correctly, but so far i prefer the cheap mods!

At the moment i am pretty happy with my vape line up.

Vapcap and ps mini is a great combination. Fantasic for microdosing.

RBT splinter for when i want to take the big guns out and get to the next level.

Took the splinter on a night out. My friend was very impressed with the effortless huge clouds. Super smooth but the quanitity of vapor can make u cough.

I will be buying a 2nd splinter when my number comes up. 104.

Dont think i would - but am craving for a Milaana in my life. Had an original and sold it. Missing the harshness u get with a milaana and the wide open airflow. Just trying to decide between a 1 or waiting for a 2.
