safe makeshift storage for glass wands, etc. - any ideas?

I saw that 7th Floor sells padded wand cases but I'm wondering if any of you have devised your own make shift protection system for your wands?

For my small glass , i store it in m+m minis plastic tubes , for my bigger pieces I make a cardboard sheath tube like container . Just take an empty paper towel roll , cut the tube up the middle , wrap it to snuggly to fit your piece , then tape up the outside to maintain the new diameter , I also make caps to fit the ends sometimes too depending on the shape of the piece , why buy something you can make for free.

I bought a cheap padded camera case on Amazon for $17 that holds my EHLE, MZ, and various accessories. It has a gridded foam insert that can be configured to fit whatever you want. The quality is great for the price and it's nice and small. It would probably suit your purposes.

that's very interesting - i was searching for something like a champagne flute storage case sort of like this

but your solution is much cooler.

question - did you cut the foam to fit your stuff or did you remove little squares of foam to fit? i definitely like this setup.

They are just little squares that are attached to each other lightly, but rip apart easily. It is a part of the design.

Thanks for the link+pics mnmlh, I might have to rip-off your idea there, especially once i get my little ehle bong too since it looks like it fits in there perfectly.

that case is so cool. now that i'm the ONLY one :| in my circle with a vape (the DBV), it's my job to turn on all my friends to vaping. unfortunately that means driving around with it usually :( but how can i turn down, "dude, bring it over and we'll use my stuff" :)

i assume that the dbv is not too wide for it the case's height, when laying flat, is tall enough for the dbv to fit right?

I'm not sure, but it probably won't fit. You wouldn't want the object going in there to be close to the outer dimensions of the case since there is no more foam to cushion it. If you measure the base, I can let you know.

cool, i saw that it gives the "outer" and "inner" dimensions but like you said, i could not determine whether that means REAL dimensions, or the dimensions that would exclude the padding, which you'd obviously want. I'll measure it and my water pipe and post. THANKS MNMLH!

You are referring to fitting a DBV in the case as well as the wand?
I know there's a company called Everest that makes really decent inexpensive padded canvas bags, backpacks, messenger bags, of all different sorts.
I bet for $10 you can find a near perfect match for the vape with possibly an internal compartment for the wand.
I ordered the $17 case on Amazon - just for the glass and loose ends such as screens, picks, extra tubes, PD tubes, etc.

something like this - I can't tell dimensionally, but would this be perfect for a DBV?

yeah, that would probably be good for just DBV alone. but i also have a smallish (have to measure it) delta 9 glass pipe with beaker bottom and an ash catcher bowl that i realized i'd want to probably transport along with the dbv, at least sometimes, so i'm leaning towards a bigger case-like container.
