Congratulations, Magic Flight. You haven't hit the big time until someone copies your vape.

Does it come with a lifetime warranty?

"That's right! No one want's to buy my papers anymore since that cursed launch box got so popular, so I set out to steal every launch box and replace it with a crooked, crude imitation that no one would want to use! And I would have gotten away with it too, if it wasnt for that dog you you meddling kids!"

Go figure, I buy a MFLB and the day I get it a walmart version comes to my attention. :/

How long before the recall?

happydays,
I sure would like to see someone come up with an on/off switch mod for it.
Think about it. A full load, one hit at a time without touching the battery.

From what I understand the plug in ac adapter will have what you are asking for and "should" be out soon... and will work in the car or plugged into a wall outlet. :)

Greatest Vaporizer Mystery Ever! Heres a scooby snack!

I am a magic flight launch box user but alas my beta unit is not pulling its weight and at some point when I get another one, it wont be from a knock off want to be, unless they are legit in the marketplace and offer a genuine quality product. I see nothing from that in that pic so I wont even take that offering seriously.

I also have much respect for the MF company. I have also never really seen such a great warranty as they have.

For me, my preferences, my usage situation where the LB is used, the magic flight launch box is my only real choice as it appeals to my needs and fits perfectly like a glove to my needs.

Oh Beez!! The newer units have the little light too! See the vapor swirl in the tube. Also helps gauge battery strength for newer users. I'd bet you'll love the new version even more :D

I read the power adapter would be slide in/slide out just like the battery now. I could be wrong but that is what I remember them saying. Honestly, I thought the battery pulling would be an issue and I'd prefer button action but after a bit of use it's second nature to me to pull battery out a bit, etc.

Oh I am looking forward. I have been somewhat amiss by not reviewing the MF thread in awhile and I was unaware of the changes. I love the light idea.

Thanks for the info, time to get off my butt and go read on the up and coming. I will wait until the charger is ready, mostly because of finances right now but then again I only use the LB maybe 6 - 10 times a year during travel so if something comes up I will get it quicker hehe.

Okay cool... So someone is a DIYer.

I thought for an inkling that this was actually being MARKETED - PHEW! (Glad they are not)

I would be flattered if I was the folks from BV. Thier product is proven rock solid and they are definitely one of a kind. As long as we dont get a 3rd party knockoff shit, then things will stay okie.

that's some funny shit, vtac! I love this guy's quote, especially the bold:

I pieced my device together on my workbench and stuck a meat thermometer inside. It didn't get past 150 degrees F.

I then took a paper clip, wound it up in a spring shape, and strung it in between the two parallel copper bars in the bowl of the box. Testing it out again, the temperature sky-rocketed, hitting 350 degrees in just a couple of seconds.

This method seems to be pretty flawless except for the fact that you may not want to be breathing the zinc of the galvanized steel from the paperclip. I haven't done much research but it seems that this stuff isn't too good for you.

Some people just don't value their own time. I mean, I get it that the parts to the LB can't be any more than a couple of bucks (not counting the batteries and charger), but it must have taken him a long time to produce what is a death machine piece of shit. imo, the LB is one of the best $100 I ever spent!

beez...I bought a production box recently and it is night and day between what they are producing now and the beta unit. Even with the beta unit in hand, I am completely satisfied with shelling out $$ for a production unit.

I'm paying for someone else to research this, design it, prototype test it, refine it, and market/support it. My money is very well spent.

Tom

I'm satisfied enough with the performance of the LB such that if mine were damaged and not covered by warranty, I'd buy another.

Thats just a disgrace to magic flight. I hope nobody ever tries to market a knockoff launchbox but i guess with its success, some asshole will try. Be assured the the "real" LB has undergone years of R&D and uses safe materials for the sole purpose of preserving user health.

Imitation, they say, is the greatest form of flattery.

I, for one, am astounded by the amount of 'search in trying to duplicate the LB in reverse "engineering" it.

Seems he has sourced a supply of copper plated steel rods, from Lowes. And fine screen mesh from tea strainers.....

Now if he can figure how to mini spot weld the mesh on to the rods, he is well on his way with his DIY version (after figuring out how to optimize the rail lengths for THC vaporization temps). Home free.

He may even decide to put the battery parallel to the pleasantly formed, ergnomic body of his work in progress, thus making his adaptation:

Sleek. Svelte. Stealthy. :ninja:

A slight design change from the R-ight angled LB.

And voila, chicken! A done deal.

& if I were him, I would add a blue-violet LED to glow in the vapor path (just because I like blue) of his DIY adaptation. Mabbe he might even make a few with pink or purple LEDs to give to his vakked female admirers.

So, kudos to him/her who experiments. :ko:

Hope he finishes his version before the leadhead Xinese start marketing their cheep kknock-off-take-away Lurch Boxxs.... :o

 (4:30 AM! Hmmm, my kitty thinks she can walk all over me, waking me & the dog up....

Naw. I see uninspired imitation as a way to try and fill a void that is totally lacking in creativity.

If you're going to imitate something, at least try to improve upon it, thereby creating something new.

Agreed 100%. Except maybe the "void" thing. I don't know of a shortage of MFLBs ... yet.

At any rate -
First you duplicate its function. Then you improve the function or the form (or both).

While the MFLB is (IMHO) sheer genius in its innovation, there are several design characteristics of the existing unit that I think could be improved on. Bear in mind, I am not an engineer or woodworker, nor do I play one on TV.

Just a few ideas are:
limited battery life and awkward (non-streamlined) positioning (looking forward to adapter)
wood absorbency = residue that cannot be cleaned and will affect efficiency eventually
volatility - leave the battery in and cook your load in your pocket

I'm sure others have thouoght of alterations/enhancements they would like to see too.

Has anyone suggested any of this to the makers?

MagicFlight, are you watching this thread?

lol. No, I was talking more in a general sense. (although you may have said that sarcastically. I have no idea. Kinda vaked right now. ) :/
