i think this one is wrong because it says Tip size: 5.5mm O.D.x2.5mm I.D. in the description. but you need 5.5mmx2.1mm

Hey Heisenberg,

Actually the size is fine. I just screwed it in to check it out and it screwed in fine, was a little tighter than the one given to me, but did the job just fine (Did not glue it in yet.) Only thing that has me hesitating is the fact that this jacks smaller ground is not the same. The original had a hole that I could loop the wire onto, while the radioshack one seems to be a "plug" for the wire.

I am not sure. I am fairly positive it should work, just wanted to see some feedback before I proceeded.

Thanks for trying to help Heisenberg. You are right.

D'Lo, What he is saying is you have the wrong part. We use a DC Type M plug system. That means 2.1mm x 5.5mm You have a size N, 2.5mm x 5.5 mm. Close but not right.

Again if you write (e-mail), we can get you the right part. Feedback from the forum may be right or wrong, and how would you know? This time it was right, you can't use that part.

Thanks for the quick follow up. I assumed he meant size but was not sure. Thanks for all the help both of you, I will shoot you an email now.

Thanks Heisenberg,

Everything appears to be working fine. I had a little issue with the smaller ground that requires you to plug the wire in as appose to wrapping and soldering it. I tried to solder the wire and the ground, but its so small, and I kept getting glue on it which was interfering with the connection.

I shoved it in there good and wrapped and soldered the longer ground as shown in the PDP tutorial. Got the leather drying on the bottom, just waiting to finish that along with the sanding and tubes and I should be good to vape! :brow:

I think I am alright on that jack Tom, but thanks again for the quick help and the awesome product. Can't wait to finish this thing, it looks/feels amazing already. If anything comes up ill be sure to shoot you an email.

That just happened...
I am new to vaporization and have just ordered a myrtle pandora kit. I had first read all about the purple days and then got to the point in the thread that I could no longer buy one and was totaly bummed. Then I saw this thread. Build it myself? Even better. :D I am an avid electric r/c builder and flier so this should be fun.

Welcome aboard Elmomuzz!

Vaporization really is the way to go, and you picked a really awesome vape for your first. The build is very straight forward, and if you already deal with electrics this should be a breeze for you to do.

Just finished everything up on mine (minus some sanding and finishing I have left) and just took the first test run and let me just say it's everything I expected and some. :D Pictures will be posted soon.

Built my second PDP kit, and it was a blast; went even smoother than the first, and now i've got even more friends interested in this genius little device.. 2 people converted off combustion so far too...

they look really good!

Tom
do you think birch-, hazelnut- or appletree wood would be suitable? they would provide a nice enlargement of the choices :)

Hmm... Birch is nice from what I have seen. Without staining it might just be a bit bland.
Hazelnut trees sound interesting but the pictures I see make it look a lot like Walnut. Apple is an interesting idea also. Unfortunately Birch, Hazalnut* and Apple are all small diameter trees. I asked our laser man about his birch wood, a while back, he uses it and collects it each year from Alaska. But when asking about 3" slab stock he said the trees just would not yield it. *From what I see of commercial Hazelnut trees they are kept small and well tended. Again no large slabs, and wild Hazelnut isn't normally a commercialy available wood species. Apple probably falls into the same category as Birch, just not gonna yield a big slab that we need.

Hi Tom.
Thanks for your answer.

Does your address purple.days@yahoo.com not work anymore? I have sent you an email almost two weeks ago but no response yet. I have sent it again on Monday because I thought there might have been a technical problem, but still no answer. Before the answers were quite fast, that is why i wonder. Today I have sent the mail again but to info@purple-days.com. I hope this works :)

Heisenberg, VVV , since, in this context, I only know you as Heisenberg... :) And sometimes mail is just lost... Sorry. ;) I think all normal e-mail channels are open.

BTW for those that don't know... if you send an e-mail through the link, it gives your username.

Got the new hides the other day. Chopped the first into useful pieces, very nice and Buckskin look, but Cowhide tough and just right. Very happy with it's color and texture. Pics soon.

Thanks for the fast reply. The mail was answered now, so everything is fine. Apparently there was a problem with the address purple.days@yahoo.com. in the future i will use the email link under your name, this one worked fine.

Well . . . damn. I quit the herbs for half a year and look what happens~

Tom, you're a great guy, you know that? I look forward to buying one of these suckers once I can get the cash together. Two PDs never hurt anyone, eh? ;) I'm thinking cherry/bison, but I suppose I'd better move fast to get the bison.

I'm a bit curious about whether or not I could simply buy the piece of bison now and get the kit later, with no leather included. Would that be unfair?

Sweet! Thank you, my good man. One of these days, I'm going to swing down there to thank you in person.

Hey Tom, I've never owned a vaporizer or even bought a real piece before. After trying my friend's vaporizer I decided I should get one. After reading many reviews and comparing I just placed my pandora order! I can't wait to start assembling, you seem like a cool guy and you make an awesome product. I'll be writing a post-assembly report and a first trip report here when I can.

Welcome to the forum Deathduck, thanks for choosing us.

Aterphasma, it's beautiful drive in many places on the coast, yours is one of them (nearby anyway). We had breakfast in town then watched a big group of kids preparing for a dinghy event. Wonderful camping.

well looks like im gonna be on board here pretty soon and ordering one of these kits. i just sold my pd to an older hippy friend of mine, he was so impressed with the efficiancy of these devices he had to have one. gave him a really good deal on it, so it felt nice i could convert one more to the vapor side!
