To DerekT:

That's the one thing I like about it too is the fresh, clean taste you get in the beginning. What I like to do is start at 200 (190 if it's some 100/qtr. stuff :ko:), then go to 210, then 220, then 230. The way I understand, the substances in your herb vaporize at different temps. The stuff that gives you a high vaporize at around 190-200. Then there are some others that vaporize at 210. The pain relieving chems start at around 220 or so. Go to YouTube and look for a video called "Vaporizers 101." That's why the chemo patients have what they refer to as "3 a.m. pot".

To stickstones:

Wow, having my question answered by a mod. I feel honored. I think the only problem with my mortar and pestle trick would be getting small particles through my bowl screen. I usually take a quick, hard inhale after doing this and have never really had a problem. I think I read somewhere TokinGLX does the same thing with his wand.

To pellefantus:

Look a couple pages back. Someone had a trick how to use two elbow screens and some trichrome crystals from a screen grinder to make a little chunk of hash that works very well in the Extreme. Might want to read that, going off of memory I think your temperatures are a little high.

To tito76:

The few times I have used the bags I always started at 220. Read somewhere that you need to start a little higher because the air blowing through and filling up the bag naturally cools the air down. Also, I just put my fan on 1. Also read that putting your Extreme on a open stand will help air get in the bottom better and give better bags. Thought about using a wire candle holder, but never got around to shopping for one yet.

I don't even use it past 200 in the day. I go through quite a bit more this way but it is the best for me. During the day I use 180 - 200 and just get two draws (elbow pack and I do not use the long whip, just the small one that is supposed to be used with the bag). I then put the leavings in a container and I get a real bright mind high. Then at night, I open up the container and set to 220 for the last two or three pulls. This gives me a real body hit.

I also have found that a small black Starbucks coffee grinder will go through a half ounce in about eight seconds and I get some great crystal and keif.

I am the same way. Low temps in the morning, higher in the evening. I do the same thing with my PD. Native in the morning, and with a beer coozie for slightly higher temps in the PM.

I think there are as many ways to use the Extreme as there are posters in this thread. I don't understand why some of us don't get the efficiency that I get. I don't know yet what the multiplier is for me because I intend to make ISO hash from my AVB, but I do know that I can get wrecked 2-3 times more if I vaporize rather than combust.

I use the bowl and put in the same amount I'd roll before I started vaping. When I combusted I'd smoke half by myself or the whole thing if I was sharing. I'll count that as 2 stones. With the Extreme, that amount is good for at least 4 stones, probably more.

I use the whip and start at 190 or 200 the first time. I don't go for the heavy vapour, just a light easy-breathing but clearly visible mist. Every time I use it after that I raise the temp 10. This works for me until I top out at 240. I don't go higher, I dump the bowl and start over. I almost never get the popcorn taste and the AVB is mostly dark brown.

I won't know how many stones are in the AVB until I get around to the hash-making, but I know they're in there. I recently had to travel without warning just as I finished off my supply. There wasn't time to buy more so I decided to grab papers and some AVB. The worst that could happen is a headache, right? I know you won't believe this but the AVB caught fire and I couldn't avoid inhaling it. Guess what? It still had enough kick to get me a decent buzz.

So for me, efficiency is way up. Given the price I pay for herbal goodness, the Extreme has paid for itself with the first ounce. I'm happy.

yea for some reason an elbow pack weighed in at 0.2 can get me almost 10 pulls of clearly visible vapor. i think efficiency has a lot to do with the strain that your smoking. the shit i smoke has visible crystals all over the buds.

I recently thought about a crazy idea. I am going to try it when I have enough bud.

The Tuff bowl has an extra lip of that Tuff stuff at the top, so you can put another bowl on top of it for an airtight seal. So what I am going to try is to fill the Tuff bowl from the screen to the very top of the bowl, then fill the bottom and top part of the other bowl with weed, then put the elbow on top.
Who know's what'll happen.

Ordered my Extreme Thursday at 5:00 P.M. Central from GreatVape.com, Extreme shipped at 6:30 same day, recieved her at 11:00 A.M. Saturday! Customer service can't get much better then that! I recieved my unit in less then 48 hours! Not to mention I sent an email regarding my purchase and recieved a reply within ten minutes! I am so impressed over Greatvape.com for 249.99 free shipping, with that type of CS you can't beat them.

Now to the Extreme :brow: first couple sessions I kept burning myself with the cyclone bowl like a clutz  this is actually the first vape I've owned where I have to be cautious, but its more being :ko: and a Newb. I really like the bags for groups, I brought her to my uncles and everyone fell in love with the bags The :whip: I am not liking to much, its just not as thick as my Silver Surfer was and those are the type of :whip: hits im used to, but maybe with some more practice i can get closer, it seems right now im pulling thicker bag hits then :whip:, so i know im doing something wrong. The elbow technique is awesome, I pull one very thick bag out of an elbow at 419 F. All in all it'll probly bed my number three vape behind the PD and VHW but I still reccomend it and I highly reccomend Greatvape.com ;)

After reading many pages of this thread i decided to go for the Extreme over the Herbal Aire, except i was lucky that my local headshop (Jupiter) carried the E for $300 cdn so i didn't have to order to get a lower price. I spent hours debating the E vs. HA2.1 and then when i got to the store (on Friday), the HA was 100$ more ($400) - so my decision was pretty clear at that point. I've used a volcano many times, 2 close tokin' buddies have them. But when i asked them about its practicality and in my living situation, they mentioned it'd be worth while to check out and research other vapes. They love their 'canos, don't get me wrong, but b/c the ppl i live with i realized i need versatility.

Which is exactly where the Extreme comes in. I tend to think that i build up tolerance to different methods of smoking/vaping (though no more smoking now, hell yeah) so its nice to change b/w bag and whip, etc. Then of course, there's elbow technique or cyclone bowl, which gives you 4 options in total. Thats without factoring in different forms of THC as in hash, kiff, budder, bho, and also the vapor-resin left in the whip. Though tbh i don't suppose bho or budder would work well unless there are oil screens available?

I have to say im very impressed with the Extreme, i forgot how great vaporizing is until i got it. My last box/whip vape taught me how to pull mad hits and i have good technique so it's translated over. But that box vape burnt weed which is a def no-no.

I was having a hard time deciding whether spending 300$ on a vape or whether it'd be better just to get $300 of herb. Then i realized that you cant put a price on your health and i like avoiding pain, so yeah.. decision made

I love sittin down with a fat bag of vapor gettin' ultra-chied

Sorry Oddigy, but you still would have to had go online and order for a better price, 300 is overcharge.
Have fun with your new vape. :p

lol 50$ (lowest ive seen is about 250cdn, or 230usd but thats close) isn't enough to make me wait up to a week or so. That's a week of smoking, and lungs filled of shit i shouldn't be putting in them (anymore). And im impatient as well lol

Though i won't argue that 50$ extra bud definitely would be nice haha. That'll kick me in the ass when i'm runnin low

Sorry, I post a little to blasted sometimes. But it is 1-2 day shipping, not a week. And I think a day's wait is worth the 50 more you can pitch for christening.

lol! Hours after i posted that, i finally made that connection (dim bulb brightened) that the shipping would only be like a day or two within canada. So i came here hoping i could edit before you'd have a chance to reply..

damnit haha! too slow i guess.. That extra money would be nice right about now too lol. Atleast i know for next time, i figure i'll end up with a collection of vapes sooner or later..

Hey guys--I've been loving my Extreme and using it daily for the last 3 weeks--its AWESOME.

The last three times I've tried filling bags, however, the bags haven't been as dense as before, and don't have that much vapor. The bud still looks like its been vaped the same way. Can't figure out why this is happening--I have done everything else the exact same way.

Here are my two potential problems:

1. Because I've been filling bags at a higher temperature, my screen seems for be a little dirty, and may not be letting air pass through it well.

2. The rubber part of the elbow which you insert the glass tube of the bag has gotten a little stretched out, so its not a perfect seal anymore. I push it further in, but then it gets stuck and is a huge pain to remove the bag once its full.

Anyone have any thoughts on what else might be going on/if one of the two things I mentioned might be the problem?

Thanks and happy vaping!

Is the unit still getting hot? I wonder if the heater has failed. But the issues you are chasing seem valid as well.

Keeping the elbow screen very very clean is probably the issue. I ordered 3 extra, drop one dirty into some iso then put in a new one.

I have a nice collection of screens that I am constantly swapping out. Clean screens make for a much more pleasurable experience.
One thing I have learned over the past year concerning any vape.... constant and regular cleaning of the vape helps maintain good vapor flow and taste. THC Oil buildups slowly reduce airflow over time if you let them build up too much.

I received my Extreme a few days ago from GotVape, even though UPS made me pick it up. It was a v3, according to the Vaporpedia page, as noted by the display temperature able to be set at 260 degrees C. This was my first vape and I love it. I will never bong again. A pinch, and I do mean a pinch, of Hawaiian Crack and ... well I have sat down to do this three times and ... this is as far as I got. I love it, absolutely. I used straight whip, no fan. I got 4-5 good hits with stirring. Indica has it's uses, but I enjoy Sativas more. Someone posted that they thought the glass was too thin because a fixture broke while removing the hose. Let me expand on this. The hoses come pre-fastened onto the fixtures, and they on so well I do not believe they would be easily removed. The glass fixtures themselves are well constructed in my opinion made of fairly heavy glass. Else how could they have stood up to the hoses being put on them in the first place.

After running from cold for five minutes, with the fan on 1, I recorded the following temperatures:

The dial temperature reading of 496 - 500 degrees F for the heater is accurate.

The inside of the vaping chamber was 437 degrees F, outside glass measured 260.

The hose was heated to 160 degrees F.

All taken with a Extech IR Thermometer, a neat little toy.

I bought pieces to run the vapor through my bong, but as it stands now, I do not think that will necessary. The whip was smooth, cool, and had no ill tastes.

I bought my youngest son, who happens to be 25, a Da Buddha. I'll post the Da Buddha stats in the appropriate forum later this weekend if I get them that soon.

I am happy, happy, happy.

:peace:

What I'm needing to figure out is what type of grinder to get for mine, and also I'm needing to find a site to order something to attach to my whip to help cool the vapor. Tried the "ice cube in your mouth" trick and it worked, the only issue is if you start choking, you have an ice cube in your mouth. Probably NOT a good idea. I'm in the market for a small bong/ ice holder, but have also read about bubblers, percolators, ash catchers (whatever the hell those are) and some other things. Any recommendations out there?

www.vapeworld.com have 14mm and 18mm glass attachments. they also sell space case grinders, the best vape grinder IMO. they offer discounts to FC members at 10% and free shipping.

Well, The elbows do break from time to time, but it isn't a design flaw as much as a stoner moment.

Dude, were are the bong attachments on that website? I can't find any and wanna buy some.

I have broke two elbows. One time actually broke an elbow and stabbed myself deep with the glass all in one quick motion. I was attempting to force on a small gauge medical tubing. You can avoid this when putting on and removing you tubing by heating up the tubes under warm water for a minute or two. Really loosens up that tubing to be stretched. Only reason i broke two, too lazy to put it under water. Fortunately i ordered extra elbows and screens in mass. The elbow doubles as my 18mm tube to bong attachment.

Hey all! My first or second post and also bought my first Extreme today.

The elbow broke and I returned it to the store and they gave me a replacement whip. Also didnt have replacement screens but emailed Arizer and they're sending me some.

(Thanks Mara and Debbie!)

That aside, it teh hellsbells!

Using the elbow a LOT and just running up the temperature looking for a sweet spot.

Any suggestions for a new Extreme$%^?
