 Hey @RastaBuddhaTao he's calling you a hippy, no soup for @AJS !

...Hey hold on, so you're saying you got your Mi for decoration..? :hmm: Maybe it can be sold at home bath & beyond (or home depot)!
It'd make a nice "aromatherapy soup dispenser".
Ok ok fine I got it because it knocks me in the face and sometimes (sometimes) makes me cry from potency.

I had a case of loose battery post syndrome- tightened it up as described earlier in the thread but I noticed just before putting the Battery in that there is a frayed looking wire in the bottom of the Battery compartment!

From memory I don't think it was there before and it looks just a millimetre away from shorting.
Guessing this is not safe to carry on using, any thoughts @KeroZen @RastaBuddhaTao Tia.

I've never taken one apart, so this is just an opinion from life experiences......

That looks like strands of wire coming out from a crimped termination.

Is the spring contact in the same position post adjustment? Maybe you pulled that assembly out just a bit ?

My worry was that the wires are from the other terminal so should not be near the contact at the bottom of the Battery compartment, the contact itself hasn't moved.

Could be from the wire that is crimped in the battery terminal itself. But to be safe, you may try to gently push it away towards the opposite side.

I don't think the two wires going to and from the trigger button can get that far. Have a look in the DIY section, when I made the Milaana 20700 conversion thread I took some pictures of the device internals with the bottom cap removed, should give you a better idea of how it's laid out inside.

Thanks, I have had a look and think I is the wire that should be crimped under the screwhead of the post has come loose so I think this would be trouble if it touched either Battery or contact?

Guess I'll have to wait for RBT as his website states no repairs until further notice (or go DIY)

Oh my! Yes if that's the one that was crimped under the post, if part of it is still in contact with the post and if it touches the battery contact tab while the copper bridge is in place, that would be kaboom! Fire in the hole!

But most likely the wire is no longer touching the post, in which case the circuit is open, until you press the trigger....and if it touches the battery contact at the same time then kaboom. Again unlikely, but not a good idea to try anyway.

If you are DIY savvy it's relatively easy to fix. You can even secure it with solder once for good. Or if you have a slightly longer screw to replace the post, you can insert a nut between the head and the wood, so the wire would be crimped between two metal surfaces rather than metal and wood (and if it unscrews again, it wouldn't affect the crimp)

Thanks for your reply, I'm fairly sure it is that wire, the post will still move and so do the strands of wire, just weighing up my options on DIY not sure how easy it is to remove bottom cap but reluctant to send back across the Atlantic again (my unit is one the earlier pre-ordered units and sent back for glass coming loose early on) I think I could easily fix it if I could open the cap.

If you use a semi soft tool, you can gently hit or at least push the bottom cap from inside through the battery hole. Might not be recommended of course... Otherwise if you twist the bottom while holding the body, you should overcome the glue at some point.

But afterwards don't be overzealous like I was when removing the dried glue from the surfaces, otherwise the mating will not be perfect when you reassemble them. I think I used regular cyanolicrate glue, just a few dashes. Since it's not really exposed to the air path...

Did something bad happen? I was starting to gain interest in this device as well as the Firewood 4, but I HATED using the MLFB so who knows if I would even like it. No plastic is a plus in my book!

All is well and growth is coming. You can still pick up a Milaana at a few retailers I believe

@Shannock this is normal as it is the ends of the wire that is attached to the wood with a screw. Please use the www warranty form for any product issues as to not void the warranty.

Hey EU folks... this Canary wood Mi will be used in a promotional give-away to celebrate the recent stretegic alliance between RBT and VF.... stay tuned to VF feeds for the details

This has me confused, do you mean it's normal and safe to carry on using, or it's normal that the wires will come loose if the Battery post looosens but it still needs to be returned for warranty work?

@RastaBuddhaTao is moving to a new location. Walls need to be built, electrical work done etc so it will be some time before we are operational again. If all goes well we will beat the 4/1 date on the www.

@Shannock if you need to send it in for repair, please keep an eye on the www towards the end of the month and complete a warranty form on 4/1 (or prior?) Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding as we move to the next phase of commercialization.
