Boundless Tera

You need to calm down man. Again, you’re bashing a company. Boundless has been nothing but good to me and it seems like all of it’s customers. They always stand by their products and will fix the issues. Saying they buy expensive vapes for themselves shows exactly how out of touch with them you actually are. You know nothing. They constantly use BOUNDLESS vapes. At this point you’re just here complaining and not even trying to be productive. Do us all a favor and return your Tera (if you own one) and just go away. Would be better for all of us and for Boundless to be rid of you. You’ll be a constant problem full of misinformation and judgement. Just go, they don’t need your cash to buy expensive vapes.
Boundless is a stand up company that will fix this. Glad you won’t be around to experience it.
Go away. Goodbye. Learn to read forum rules on your way out ✌️
Do you know that they use their products not only at their streams?
I would really like to hear that because "again" i like the guys I looked their streams often. Ask my gf, I showed her all of them because I am really interested to buy from them and that is why i am disappointed to hear about such big fails.

Ok wanted to try some in concentrate mode, the first pull was sharp and hurt my throat.

Kind of spooked right now... :(

Hmm... I think I'm just going to avoid concentrate mode altogether, I mean not even when doing burn offs, as it might be the culprit for the unit to go crazy (I am assuming this because you didn't have problems on herb mode) :huh:

My manual actually fell apart the first time i opened it, about half of the pages just fell out. That was the second odd thing i noticed.

First thing i noticed was the package still saying aluminium chamber.. quite confusing and unprofessional.

Also, the 5 air holes in the bottom of the bowl of my tera are off center, probably not right too. Hows this in you guys teras? It seems odd to me.

Then theres the vibration thats acting up/sounding wierd in mine (i did not drop it) the bad wpa.. and worst of all, of course.. the fuming/smelling

This thing is screaming cheap chinese manufacturing actually. Im sending it back, i guess not buying anything boundless in the future, im sorry.

Had high hopes for this one.. but i lost my faith. Don't these vaporizers get tested at all?

The device itself is not illegal and is used for more than just vaping marijuana. You can vape many different herbs as well. It is marijuana that is federally illegal not vaporizers.

I would really like to see a tear down of one of these off gassing units. Thats just insane.
Still, good luck with your legal endeavors

My manual also fell apart upon flipping through it. No biggie on that though. I thought I read in the manual that use while charging is not recommended... The air holes in my chamber looked to be lined up right.

Anyway, I just mailed my unit back to PIU for a replacement because of the tremendous off-gassing. They had me do another burn off today to see if it was still happening and it was the same as before. A constant stream of burnt plastic smelling fumes during concentrate mode. Hopefully the next one will be a good one.

PIU customer service was very quick and friendly.

Thanks for the guidance on my problem in my previous post.

Without. At 220C. Then tried tobacco and then burn again and no more smell

Great, I will do the same when I get mine (hopefully tomorrow). I will do the burn off at the highest HERB temp (~428F) and will not go into concentrate mode at all as it may just be what causes the device to melt somewhere (most devices don't go that high, so it is possible that 500F is just too hot for it to handle)... I don't mind as I don't use concentrates anyway

The only thing i m already sure is that the water pipe adapter works fine.. i'm still doing burnoffs by the way, i ve done two and is unplesiant but seems it stops to offgasses
For real?
Don't you have to hold the Tera when used with wpa?

Well that was easier than expected.

@Boundless Vape Technology

This silicone seal was not seated correctly tilting the heating element. All the crap on the outside of the ceramic chamber was giving off fumes and since that seal was letting the funk into the air path. Bam, stinky bowl.

If the ceramic is not centered with the screen I’d bet you have the same problem.

Also you can fit a whip tube in the glass mouthpiece

Thank you for the teardown and new mod! you're a superstar and we may now know the reason behind the mysterious fumes :clap:

How isolated in the air intake path down under? On the first picture, the whitish Silastic-like blob on the bottom, is that really isolated from the air path? That's precisely this kind of crap we had in the horror stories I evoked earlier.

Note that I also spotted the same blob in the recent Arizer ArGo teardown pictures... but nobody complained about any off-taste so far.

Also can you see any polyimide tape between the two ceramic heater elements? (assuming there are still two telescoping elements like in the first version)

@Boden :

So is the main body metal, or plastic? Just the battery lid is metal?
During the Tera was dismantled, did you tried to run it on? Could you see from where the fumes comes from?

Thanks for your share :tup::cheers:

Just a quick question here. Has anyone else had trouble with the wpa and the assembly that's connected to it come off all together, emptying their bowl of weed out? Still cant keep my wpa from getting stuck in my piece. I have to pull the magnetic part off with the unit while leaving the wpa on the glass piece then take it off by itself or else I risk losing my entire load.

The white blob is silicone they used to glue the steel case that sets over the ceramic cores to the base. Well outside the air path.

I figured PIU will show the inside if the ceramic so no need for me to go any further once I found the obvious problem.

From what I saw looking down the holes, it’s a different heater design.

All I smell now is hot wire, guessing NiCr and slightly uncured ceramic.

Body is plastic

Battery lid is pot metal

I ran it dismantled at 220*F and 400F for short periods. Looked like the ceramic needed to cure a bit more. Went away pretty fast.

I’ll take it apart again once it gets used a bit.

I don't own one (may wait for a little while now xD ), but it's a common complaint here :(
