@NicholasPetris I'm planning on using the standard condenser with my Cocobolo vong body to block the carb without the x-ring. No need for a mouthpiece with my Vong as I only use it in my J Hook or WP.

I have also done this with a VonG body of mine. The extra small size is cute, though needs a bit more dexterity/precision in handling ! I like to think of it as a "NonaVonG Mini". For some reason, shortening the vapor path from the chamber to my glass piece is enticing (an ever so slightly faster visual feedback).

@howzcat, if you are unsure, you could always just buy a Nonavong stem & put it on your M condenser & see how you like it w/o a mouthpiece. Then, you'll have an idea if you should get a regular condenser or an XL condenser with a mp. I like the vong thru water w/o the mp, but occasionally take add'l. hits off it dry & have found no problem using it this way for a draw here & there. But it I were to predominantly use it dry, I'd want a mp.
using the vong body with the M condenser, you're sure it works? (it's not on dynavap website, but i've heard of people doing it). Have you tried it? :)

I like to think of it as the XS the opposite of the XL. And dexterity shouldn't be much of an issue with my IH. I'm not sure I'd want to mess with it at that size if I was going to twirl and heat with a torch-I've got big hands and that could pose an issue.

And I'm way more excited about this than I should be. What is it about this device that just gets under your skin, in good way?

And I'm already thinking about making some carb-less, condenser-less glass stems and bodies of various lengths when I get the borosilicate tubes in a week or so. How about a true shorty? Cut a piece of glass tubing about 1.5" long, put a tip and cap on it with a fat mouthpiece and voila-glass Vong; kinda sorta.

Ahh the joy these things bring is truly extraordinary. All hail George!

I'm currently rocking a vong stem with a M condenser, really makes no difference. My suggestion is to buy a vong xls to give yourself every possible option if you have the money to spend. It's nice to mix and match.

I too at first was thinking of XS as opposed to XL but since the S is already used for "spinning mouthpiece" I had to go with something else for my personal obsessive semantics. (even though it would be easy to tell the 2 terms aparts)

I was little concerned regarding your gargantuan hands and the device's tiny size, maestro, but had forgotten that you possess an IH, so your usage should indeed be smooth and easy. I'm a pretty small fellow and the NonaVonG Mini is a bit of a challenge to spin, even as a fellow musician (I work with the 88 keys). I'm pretty sure that acoustic instrumentalists in general (as well as many other humans; nature enthusiasts...) would have a natural affinity for Dynavap.

The only other vape I've owned is the MFLB, and while I do still love it (I have a nice little collection of them), the VapCap's modularity, wide versatility, ease of use, sheer undeniable power, and freedom from batteries/electronics make it an easy choice as one's primary tool. Also, the community here (and on reddit), customer service, continuous new developments and refinements (I think George knows that this keeps people hooked :mmmm: and willing to further invest in shiny new toys)... Few parts, ingenious yet simple, very resistant to breakage. The analog appeal is huge. The VapCap joins monumental ranks of technologies like the piano, guitar, wind instruments... all the glorious inventions which, in usage, rely merely on natural laws, elements, and geometries. Hallelujah!!! Sorry for rambling, mate ! Hail to King George ! :peace: V I

unsure of whether i should buy a Nonavong with (or without) the MP.
My usage will be similar - first hit dry, and finish the chamber through the glass. Would you say that it is uncomfortable dry without the mp? What are your thoughts on this?
The Nonavong I have been using is a Cocobolo Stem on a STD condenser. I got it to use with glass and that has been it's primary usage. I didn't want the mouthpiece as it is limiting on some joints due to it's length. It is NOT uncomfortable at all to hit the stem directly, so no problem starting with a flavor hit. And the Vong fits nicely into all my glass.

As I said above when my LE 7fin and Ti mp come I will build a DynaVong XL with one of the stems I got on the BOGO and an XL condenser. I am doing this because I think it will LOOK COOL but I won't get any additional functionality by doing this. I will just get a longer (probably cooler looking) Vong that may not mate well with some glass pieces. But in fact, I don't expect to be using this XL Vong with glass much.

I really don't think there is much if any difference in hit quality or temp between a std condenser and an XL condenser. We are talking only 17mm difference that adds that length and allows for some different configurations, but no real difference in performance. The XL, at least to me, is about the look and the feel in your hand and that is pretty much it. I like both.

I meant to add that with the Vong (with std condenser) I have the airhole blocked by xring placement as it is meant to be used with water and then I always want it blocked.

If you place a VonG body (which is 45mm long) on the M condenser you will also need a mp (which is 17mm long) to make up the 62mm requirement. Or you could put a VonG stem (which is 62mm long) on the M condenser.

How about a true shorty?

Here's mine next to a Ti Woody S with Blackwood body and burl mp and a Ti VonG XLS with a dark wood VonG stem and mp.

Did you 'white wax' the vong stem? Looks gorgeous!

The Vapcap is my preferred instrument. I can play it much better than my guitar and piano. :)

No. I've done nothing to it. No polish no wax. This is how it came out of the package.

The one on the far right?

It's a short stubby blown glass body, no condenser.

@Squiby all gorgeous. I LOVE the shorty-fabulous. For me, playing guitar is way more fun and interesting after I've played my vapcaps. Speaking of which...

Some of my caps vary on time till second click happens and overall heat up time, but they all have the second click.
Have you tried torching an empty tip longer to see if there is indeed a second click?
When using my Aomai single flame, if I'm heating around near the digger outer, my second click can take as much as 6 seconds after my first click. I've often started to doubt if that first click was indeed the second, cause it feels so long that I must be combusting the hell out of this load, then the second click happens.
My average overall heat time is 13-15 seconds till second click. Yes, that long.

Yeah I've already tried and nope, no second click. But I'm trying right now and YES it clicks twice BUT the second click comes 10 seconds + after the first (1-2secs on my normals caps). And the first click "cool-down" comes even a second after the second click "heat-up" (I can't even take a little toke !), sooooo it's very annoying because it's not easy to use :ugh:

Because I cudna wait till late spring (or summer) for
the dollar store to restock their Butterfly nets—and I was bored,
I went to the $0 store in my room and dug up what was a bamboo wind chime

XXXL.
Darn, gotta cut it down a tad, Ned.

@stark1 think I may have to take my PS out for a little time on the porch myself. We New Englanders don't get to do that in February very often. Of course I won't have quite the cool Triple X stem you've got-but it'll work just as good. BTW, how's the draw on something that long with no carb or condenser?

Asked about why my new etched cap is taking longer to cool down and received this reply:

"With the custom caps, we went with a new design that made the cooldown click slightly longer, but it shouldn't cause any problems with functionality."

If I knew about that I would have gone with a standard cap. I would rather choose performance over appearance...

@babaganush I bet someone on the forum would trade you. I think there are some folks here who are entering collector status, and would love to have one of everything DV creates. And maybe one of those folks missed out on the custom caps.

I will say it makes me happy I'm cheap, and regardless of what @ataxian might think, not into bling. I never considered the etched caps, and ordered a standard one today in my order.
