@just_the_flu Just a heads up disorderly has a sale going on today “love“ get you 20% off only today though I think but if you message them on Instagram they are great at responding and most likely will accommodate you for shipping good luck you’ll enjoy it

Thinking about pulling the trigger on this deal. Comes out to $75 shipped save $15. Then I would need a 25mm banger too. Hmmmm. HE gavel is the one, I think.

trust me you won’t be disappointed it’s my daily driver and it also one of @mutten840 favorites too out of the multitude he has ;)
I run my gavel between 525° and 545° with a nail temp running between high 370°s and low 390°s (I have tweaked it from the eternal settings a bit and I’m getting plus or minus 5° throughout the whole hit of coil fluctuation temp)
The eternal settings were giving me some fluctuating temperatures, but others seem to like it fine on standard heavy
and the flavor is on par with the Sapphire

they say im crazy but i have a good time
.....thanks @mutten840 & @YabbaDABBAdo ... have reached out to disorderly on shipping (prolly should have from the start)....

...i have to say after my initial (personal) frustrations, this is a solid device! and i'm wanting a backup already :p just cuz vas says so.... you get it i know you do!

...also i predict the future is in these devices with all the new concentrate focus and heads like the newvape FP/SH... run concentrates or herb off same nail (or device depending, just swap out heads)... glass symphony and SV4 also run of a pid controllers...

...just want to say keep up the good work @HexNailAva & @HexNailLiz

Not to forget jcat's sv3 electric coil plate mod.

Hopping on the banger train tomorrow. Will give updates in comparison to my newvape WA SiC dish. Definitely huge shoutouts due to @mutten840 - not only does he give great advice and have lots of knowledge/experience, but he's also a great, compassionate dude!

That said, I like the idea of the banger better for more surface area... and the temps mutten is running at in comparison to my SiC dish is just ridiculous (I have to run coil at close to 680... he's a few hundred lower lol) so I feel like this will be really nice. Having the ability to drop inserts in will be very very welcome as well, as I've never played with uptemp.

Found a seller on dhgate who has 25mm bangers, inserts and carbcaps bundled for like $12 each if you don't mind the wait... though I suppose I should hold off on saying anything til mine actually arrive.

I've actually not taken a dab (or turned my HN on for that matter) in a few days, due to busy-ness and etc, so tomorrow will be nice indeed!

Thanks again to @mutten840 and @HexNailAva @HexNailLiz

@muunch honestly wouldn’t go with a set up from dhgate, they are going to be cheap Chinese bangers and you will not get the good proper thermal conductivity, taste and quality of manufacturing, go with a quality American quartz banger I would look into fatdab co! They are very reasonably priced bangers $60 and when you can catch their sale they have 50% off their whole site (which is currently going on) I currently do not own one but I know @mutten840 has many of them and likes them just as much they also have inserts and carb caps on their site for reasonably priced too although you can get the carb Cheaper somewhere else but for inserts and a quality banger for a good price you can’t beat them

Yeah, the ones from china are just cheapo replacements just in case of a pinch really. I wouldn't daily them lol.

I will say I'm liking the banger so far but need more testing. Can see it replacing the wraparound setup at least til there is tunings for it. Will report back later this week though.

It's an obsession but it's pleasin'
Well, after all this quartz talk I had to try it too. For just $120 I picked up a Disorderly Conduction coil and a 25mm banger and insert from FatDabCo. The price is sure right...especially when you're used to buying SiC and sapphire inserts for the Liger at $125/$325 a pop.

Make sure to use a bit of wire or something similar to hold the coil arm to the neck of the banger. This will keep the coil from moving around when the banger and coil are hot. It will also help keep the bangers from breaking when the nail cools down. When it is hot, it can get slightly angled and when cooling down. This will cause the banger bottom to break. I used a small piece of wire loosely wrapped or something similar to the Errlectic retainer (Just an O ring and some S clips). The fit over the banger should feel snug but smooth. (Similar to the feel of a syringe plunger being depressed)

Lastly, FatDabco is a great alternative to losing high priced bangers, while perfecting the coil fit to the banger. They currently have all their bangers priced half off. So for 45 bucks, you can scoop a really nice banger. They are comparable to the Toro Grails in my opinion

Which one of their models do you mean? You talked about a 25mm. Can't see one for $60?

@Hogni what ya looking for info on? I am not sure if you are looking for 25mm coils or 25mm bangers. Or something else =P

25 mm bangers These are still priced at 34.99 (Great price for a nice banger)
25 mm coils The super short sale he ran is over and they are back to 75.00 a pop

Let me know if thats what you were looking for or something else =)
Picked up the 25mm coil for $75 shipped and the facto 25mm banger for $31.49 shipped.

@mutten840 , thanks for your reply. My inquiry regarded to the 25mm banger which you've recommanded.

So it's not the Center Core Banger or the XL Quartz Banger but the 25mm flat top thick bottom skillet by FatDabco. That was all I wanted to know for clarification.

No, I don't need no banger!
....No, I don't need no banger....No, I don't need no banger.....No, I don't need no banger.....

What's overkill about it compared to their coil for the Liger? Not trying to pick a fight; genuinely curious as I'm considering picking one up myself.

@JigMelon Sorry I was thinking of it in context to a quartz banger and not the liger. For a quartz banger, I find the coil is a constant point of heat and so there is no real issue with lack of saturation of heat from the coil. Especially when you run a banger with a chunk of quartz on the bottom. =)

The liger on the other hand takes much more heat to get to dab temps and in turn also make the majority of the liger hot to the touch and the male joint will typically get heat welded into the piece or drop down. The quartz bangers have no heat beyond the top half of the banger neck and are completely cold to the touch. So they do not need the massive coils and heat shields to try and hold the hear where its needed. I have converted several over to the bangers and one of the main points is its easier. Its what you always wanted your low temp torch dabs to be and less coil also means less weight. I got rid of several pieces during my Liger phase as they did not work with it. Now that I am using the banger setup, I could of used all those pieces and never had an issue from heat or weight.

I do not expect this to be a fit for everyone as you run the chance of breaking bangers that can run up to 200 a pop (Ouch) The only comparison is the sapphire insert for the Liger and how it seemed to want to dive onto hard surfaces whenever it could =P

But on the up side, Once I got the coil adjusting down and started using something to support the coil arm. Things aligned and I have found harmony between the bangers and the coils =)

I return you to your normal programming

Got it, so you're saying that due to the thermal qualities of Quartz, along with the design of a well-made banger, the thermal properties between their surrounding coil and other coils are insignificant (for normal sized dabs)? What about for extra-low temps? Doesn't that extra surface area help prevent pooling?

Can you post a picture of your coil/nail set up? Thanks

@JigMelon I have found that I can do back to back dabs at any temps. I was never able to do this with the Liger as it needed a few minutes between dabs to get back up to temp. I show I am dabbing at 377 to 388 on the banger and I still blow clouds and get tons of flavor. The combo that was always difficult to achieve with the Liger =)

Once I found this tech and perfected it. I sold off all of my liger and halo gear and stocked up on bangers and coils

@Been Vapin Here are some pics of my gavel paired with my coil =)

Got it, so the difference is the insert. I'm still thinking about buying one of those AH bangers w/ the surrounding coil. Your point of the thermal conductivity loss from the insert definitely made me realize I need a quartz banger, too.
