I'm a veteran vaper when it comes to portable vapes and I've tried a variety of them but I'd like to get an at home vape. Here is some of the criteria that I'd prefer in a home unit:

The option to keep it running so when I come home it's on standby or ready for me to use without a lot of prep. So more on demand and less fuss so a butane vape may be an option

The flavor NEEDS to be better than my Arizer Air and my Davinci IS

Needs to have water conectivity options.

Needs to be able to be shared with a small group of maybe 2-4 people

Aroma therapydish would be nice but not a must.

Big hits, if I wanted thinner hits I'd use a portable.

Also as a Canadian I can't have it break my bank with USD conversion and shipping. So keep that in mind, I like extras and add ons so depending on the extras I may be more inclined to pay more. Being able to use concentrates would be a plus to.

I'm looking to spend about 350 CAN after tax and may be willing to pay more depending on the features of the vape.

I appreciate any and all help as to where the best place for myself to get said vape.

Underdog, Enano, Woodscents, all meet your need - any log. If you can wait a member @Alan makes logs that are in your price range. Rumour has it Herb Cafe will carry Woodscents, so reach out to them. Did me a solid on my Crafty!

I have a Woodscents, @Ed's TnT has been great, even factoring in the conversions, and would suggest one without hesitation.

@Slagzord thank you very much for your input, I've seen some log vapes and the ones that really stood out for me is the Enano and the Ed's TNT as it comes with a lot of extras and a matching vapcap. another one that seemd to match my needs was the StickyBrick Hrydrobrick Maxx. Though it seems like it would be kinda hard to teach guests how to use it. but I like the versatility of the unit, also would you know if I would be able to use the Zeus Iceborne ice filtration unit with either of these units?


Also exotic wood is never a priority but it'd be nice to have something with a "Canadian" feel to it. Like maple syrup or something lol

I would suggest a vape made in Canada, an Arizer Extreme Q.

Planetvape.ca should be able to hook you up.

For arguments sake check on the price with puffitup.com. It may be worth the extra hassle.

My biggest gripe with Arizer ( Even though I have an Air in the house ) Is that even though they're a Canadian company for the longest time all their prices were in USD and even now as a Canadian Customer it's cheaper to go to a local headshop or EVERY other website sells it cheaper than their own site. It's kinda hard to back a company like that. Puts a bit of a sour taste in my mouth; not much incentive for me. though the flavor is all there but it's the whole jack of all trades but master at none. With a price of $204 CAN from every site except theirs it's something to consider though.

I heard the HerbalAire is also a Canadian made product and I can get it for $209 on Vaporizers.ca, I like the idea of having the pump separate from the unit incase it breaks and the fact that the unit is rugged and wont break so easily is very appealing and not having to grind your herb is actually encouraged. It's just that I cant find much info on it as it isn't as popular. What information do people have about the H3?

As someone mentioned, give @Alan an email . I have a bamboo HI log of his , it was under a hundred dollars , works great and being bamboo doesn't need to be turned and using natural cork as heater base, he sometimes has some readily available or less long a wait then his more eccentric wooden vapes. Worth a try to email him anyways.. well under your budget and works goooodd. You would have plenty $ left to buy different stems of his , adapters, a VVPS (voltage booster) :)

Have had mine for a year plus it's still like new . Seen lots of use , plugged in 24/7 , etc.. hard to beat in regards to a desktop "bang for buck" in my opinion

@204Markie I can't speak to the latest Herbalaire models, but the HA that my buddies and I had in uni was a solid performer. We were always wowed by the fact that you toss a full nug into that crucible and you get the tastiest, purest vapor. The nozzle system back then made it really easy to toss a turkey bag or ziploc bag onto the nozzle and get started. I really like that it is way easier on your herb than a Volcano and it is more readily converted to whip based vaping, which it is really really good for. I'd never hesitate to send someone down the HA path. Looking at their new Elite and other models, it all looks good and could fit your needs quite well.

The thing about the Zeus Iceborn adapter is that as long as you can get the right length of silicon tubing and a way to affix your piece to it, it can be made to work with anything. I know that most of them have adapters that ought to work with that lil' thing (how do you like it, btw? I've always been put off by T-Vape's insistence on dropping their own product into every review or discussion of a vaporizer). If it takes standard 14/18mm M adapters, it should work with a log.

The underdog comes with several different stems. Still I'd check with Alan to see if he has any logs that don't require a 2 year wait. And Ed's work is outstanding if you want to go the log/vapcap route.
On the other hand, although I don't own one, the herbalaire has many fans and that's made in Canada. Maybe read the herbalaire thread to see what owners say.

I would say enano for every category you list except maybe sharing between 2-3 people. I mean you could pack a large bowl and pass it around but the nano works best with smaller loads imo. You could pack a fresh bowl for each friend and they would like you more. I have an Air also and there is no comparison, but in fairness to the Air, it does a great job as a portable.

For what you're looking for I would highly recommend a Vapor Brothers desktop vapebox. The old standard classic still delivers today with a hands free wand. Now that vape you can tune it into whatever temp you want and a nice big bowl for sharing with friends. Big heat will give you big rips. Add a gong adapter for the silicone tubing and you're off to the races. Oh, and also comes with the aroma therapy glass piece you wanted too.

The only on demand vapes I have is my hand carved Vapor genie and my glass bat vaporgenie and my vape I hold close to my dear heart is my vapman yew basic. Though my vapman has a small personal sized bowl and it's not for sharing or beginners. I'm not exactly looking for another portable but a portable desktop I wouldn't mind.


I'm very interested in Alan's work and I already DM him and into TNT log and I had a pm about the hydrobrick max and since I have someone on here vouch for the herbalaire at an early model makes me look in that direction too lol.

I appreciate all the quick feedback and I started emailing and messaging these companies and seeing what's the best deal or bang for my buck is for my needs.

I have the HerbalAire H2.2 and the Elite version, both good vapes.
Both have not totally satisfied me with having to heat soak loads for big hits or specialized loading techniques.
The Arizer EQ does the same for cheaper and is in the same range, imo.

If you want to do this once, look into the New Vape Showerhead.
It has basically replaced all my vapes and is my daily driver!
Small loads with massive hits and amazing flavor!
Effects are outstanding!
Ability to do oils and herb at once as well.
Needs a water tool or a j-hook for the brave! I use a WT all the time.

It's built like a tank and will last a lifetime!

The Herbie H3 is like the elite but has a dial rather than the digital screen and is only 5$ more for a more rugged vape that doesn't really have parts that will break on me.

Also the flower pot is out of my price range as I don't already own a e nail so that's going to be $600+ Canadian for me sadly, though it does look cool! I wish I had the throwaway cash for that but sadly I don't.

I love the VB1: It's small, virtually unbreakable, lasts for decades and gives powerful hits. Just didn't think of it because it's made in California. People seem to think it's the same as the hotbox but it's a totally different quality.

I'd give my vote to the FP, if you want to do this once, as @lazylathe said. Seems to tick all your boxes.
Especially the concentrates bit which is trickier for many others to do cleanly, and the fragility issue regarding glass parts, considering you gonna have to hand it to your guests, IMO.
The downside is that you may need a fixed place to hit it safely, and a bong...

Maybe a Vapolution 3 will do as well?
Some glass parts, but less exposed. You can use a cheap hydrotube to pass around, hook it to a bong or use it whip style. Very powerful from what all users report and does concentrates too. Still needs it own place like all desktops but it seems an easier setup to move around, or to be placed somewhere temporarily such as within a circle?

VB1 seems like a good idea too.

IME it all depends on how comfortable you imagine yourself using each vape in the particular setting(s) you want to use it for. It helps to watch a few videos/reviews though to make up your mind after narrowing it down to 3-4.

Sadly the FP is not in my price range but as for the VB1 I found an alternative that's more readily available and I hear I can go with either and be just as happy. The dabudda and is below my price range as well and hits all my markers so far :) so I guess it's between a log vape, DBV, SB HydroMaxx

Doesn't the Herbie need some DUI mods as people don't like the whip that it comes with? Though I already have a MFLB glass stem and a Solo bent whip. So I shouldn't count it out. Not many videos on it though. How is it with concentrates? I guess I need to get a ceramic screen for the unit as well. It just seems like a lot of modding to get it working top notch.

I won't count it out but with all the hassle I might have to make it the bottom pick out of the 4 vapes.

It seems like the DBV and SSV are the same except that the SSV looks sleaker for $100 more?

Oh shit, Vapcap M. No one said it yet, it is obligatory. Highly recommended no matter what way you swing on the desktop unit (unless you go with Ed, and even then...). Pick one of those up for roughly 60 Canux bux and go grab a reliable torch lighter for under 15 easy and you're good to roll. But I warn you, you will become addicted to their product line.

If you are looking at DBV and SSV, you might want to consider the LSV. It has the same heating element as the other two but I personally prefer the glass wand to the whip. They are very inexpensive too, especially if you pick one up second hand.
