Discontinued Ghost MV1

Modified a crucible to replace the stainless screen. Hoping it will not clog as quickly as the stainless screen.

Holes are bigger, maybe even better draw, and i hope the resin won't stick as much...

Update: so you've got to use the metal screen still to make a seal. The metal screen does stay cleaner, with this addition, but the unit works better without the modified ceramic lid....

As far as dialing in temps, I have other devices that I can dial in flavor.
I use the MV1 as a fast action portable when I only have time for one or two draws.
Medicating, I have been happy with leaving it on 2red (428*) start to finish.

2-3 times it has bit me in the ass and I combusted, but it is kinda hard to do with normal use. First two, full length draws are flavor, then it fades but I get a couple more before the vapes stop.

I do go for full extraction out of my material and this stock temp setting gets it damn precise. I tend to get a dark roast out of all my material except the very top layer which is usually lighter. For me, this fits my daily needs better than my only other portables (VC, Lotus and MV). Butanes don't really work well IMO in public and crowds (gives off a too crack-pipe-ish vibe).... MV really shines in session situations, not for a quick blast. MV1 really is powerful and on demand. It is the on the go, restriction free, one hitter I have been seeking since I fucked combustion.

I used a disc grinder... carefully. The material is brittle, but going slower and gently I had it that way in 5 minutes.

Grind is a space case, I think pretty fluffy and medium-to-courser.

What's (or was) working for you?

The mv1 is gaining traction with me.

Lid is still annoying though....

Had my first overheating today. I had to wait about 10 mins to use it again... it happened on the first cart of the day, 2 red dots, 4th or 5th draw.

Well, I skyped with Dave & my unit is being replaced. Should have it the end of next week or the beginning of the following week. Since this will have the latest android update, very much interested in seeing just how much difference this firmware update makes.

@Brewervapesalot, if you're asking about grind, I have a generic Amazon grinder that got great reviews. It's a fluffly medium-coarse grind. Sometime in the future I'd like to try a medium & a coarse grind.

So the crucible holder is definitely worth it. Smaller than you'd think from website photos. Seems well designed and is easy to use...

Packing a few crucibles is better than cleaning one over and over....

I cannot not get the door open. Yes I have tried the slide lock. It will not budge
Try holding it in one hand and press on it with your thumb but not the tip, at the first joint down from the tip... and kinda slide it over a little to the right too, of course.... get a lot of surface area on the button

Nothing personal to you B, but for $300 the dang door wont even open. And, think of the many fragile brethren who cannot apply that kind of pressure. $300 and I cannot even open the door, really?

Do I I try to pry it open with a small flat head screw driver? Or, send it back? Here it is brand new, and it is truly a ghost!

I know you said “nothing personal” but still used it as a springboard anyway...? All I did was offer a suggestion... things break all the time. We live in a very imperfect world. It sounds like to me you could use some customer support, no? Might I suggest going over to the vape life forum and open an account and PM @“ghostvapesofficial” directly with your issue(s)... lucky for you, Ghost gives fantastic CS if you use the proper channels. Take control of your destiny and actually do something about it...

Nothing personal to you......but they are like that at first.....super hard to open but loosen up really quick. You will be surprised after the first 1-3 weeks how that door latch loosens up.

That said, think of it as a sideways latch...not a downward push button.

It wasn't anything personal directed at you. Understandably, @wrangler's frustrated & upset that he bought a $300 vape & he can't open the crucible latch. Seems valid to me. @wrangler, while still pm'ing @ghostvapesofficial on VLF, you can also send an email to Whitney@ghostvapes.com

@wrangler, did you try the fingernail tip I suggested? With the vape facing you, put you fingernail into the left seam of the latch button & push sideways to the right firmly.

Vape Critic just put up a new video.

Summer, Thank you for your understanding. Yes I am frustrated and disappointed. B, spring board to where or what? I don’t understand? I will play with it more today. I will watch the vid and contact CS, If need be.
Labpong. Thank you for your feedback✌️

No worries wrangler. I will 100% guarantee that the latch will loosen up quick and you will not have this problem very long. If you play with it.....it will loosen up faster, once you figure out a good way to start it to open.... with a finger nail or something like a plastic guitar pic or the like. Careful not to use a knife or metal object.

I dunno... I guess maybe used more as a segue into your frustrations..? But whatever, I guess that’s on me, so, sorry...

Listen, I empathize, I do... I want nothing more than for you to be happy. Honestly. And I really just only wanted to help... I hope the guitar pick works great for you until everything loosens up nicely... :peace:
