2018 Winter Olympics(Comments, No Politics Please)

BabyFacedFinster

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
No kidding. Did you see the extended clip when Shaun was all in tears hugging his Mom and sister after he won the gold and then when he saw his Dad? He was not holding those sobs back at all. Got me a bit misty.

And when Mikaela Shiffrin just dropped to her knees, crying after she won Gold. You'd think she'd be used this by now. And then the hugs that she got from those she beat.

It's this human, emotional experience that always has me coming back for more. It really makes politics seem so trivial.

Although the Kim Jong-un impersonator popping up in front of the North Korean Cheerleaders was goddamn priceless.

Kim Jong Un impersonator shocks North Korean cheerleaders at Winter Olympics

Some laughed, others looked away nervously as DPRK "minders" forced the doppelganger away at an ice hockey event.

North Korea's vocal team of cheerleaders at the Winter Olympics were stunned into silence - when they were ambushed by a Kim Jong Un impersonator.

The squad of around 100 young women did not know how to react when they came face-to-face with their leader's doppelganger.

Some smiled nervously while others tried not to watch as the portly man in glasses, with slicked black hair and a long coat, strode in front of them.

The impersonator, who identified himself as an Australian musician with Chinese heritage named "Howard", beamed as he waved a "united Korea" flag at the women.

After around ten seconds, they regained composure and started singing.

Two men in black jackets soon intervened to bundle "Howard" away to seats further down in the stadium.

Well a skater from Australia(Men's Freestyle) skated to a medley of PINK FLOYD. Usually the music is classical, opera or pop, so it was nice to hear some Rock for a change. Watched Nathan Chen skate an almost perfect performance and he hit six quads in his routine. I hope he medals, but will have to wait and see.

Six quads is crazy but he just fucked up too much in his earlier routines. Nerves no doubt.

I can't imagine how one controls that in a competition like the Olympics. You work your whole life for something, most of the times from age 6 or younger and it then comes down to just one skate, or one run. That's what did Mikaela in. She was throwing up in the starting gate right before her second run.

I was so amazed with the halfpipe snowboarding.
They got such whopping height 5.9m or 6.1m? and stunts,
I think the reason some of them fell is because they are on a knife edge the stunts are so involving,
and it's easy to forget to consider the wind they experienced as we are sat here vaping ha ha.
Is it just me or is that sport mildly associated with weed? Maybe they just exploded in popularity at the same time along with baggy clothing and hoodies!

It's cool how they like the music a lot while they ride too.
There was a Chinese girl with all black headgear she was like a masked raider scary and cool!

First I thought the judges were a bit harsh but when I looked back it was the ones who landed the most brilliant tricks that were awarded highest so they probably know they're shit!
I would be giving sympathy points to everyone for effort, for just turning up, and their clothes etc!

The other thing that makes it top notch for me now is this HD format and I'm glad I can tap into, and watch this for free! And that my TV supports it.
Not a hiccup in the sweet live HD pictures considering the location and conditions. The sound is very well done too.
Respect also to local volunteers for coming out in freezing cold to assist with running the games.

There was a Canadian couple started skating the other night to Sympathy for the Devil - Rolling Stones, and finished on Oye Como Va - Santana! There may have been a bit of Hotel California in there too.
Nice, and cool as you say.
Even for someone who thinks skate dancing is a bit too girly!

WTG! USA WOMEN'S HOCKEY WINS GOLD!!! They win in a fantastic shootout, and oh what a great feeling to see them win GOLD again, first time since 1998. I definitely got my money's worth. OUT-FUCKING-STANDING!!!

USA has some absolutely amazing women competing in the Olympics. Diggins and her partner (sorry, can't remember her name) in the Nordic team spring was fabulous and the race was actually exciting and suspenseful (I used to view Nordic skiing as being right up there with watching paint dry but not after getting into a bit).

And Meyers in the two woman bobsled pulled off silver and lost the gold by only a very small margin.

USA women in the speed skating team pursuit took bronze, I believe.

Then there is of course Vonn, Shiffrin and the rest of the fearless alpine racers.

And we certainly can't forget about the ladies in the half pipe...snow board or skis.

I've really enjoyed watching these Olympics and its my impression that USA supports women athletes better now than ever before and its showing in some of these wonderful and awe inspiring ladies.

So true. We can't hold a candle to those Russian figure skaters though but that ladies hockey game with Canada was sweet revenge. The USA team was not gonna let this one go. And of course, it was an ending that could only happen in the movies. At the end of the game, when that goalie threw down her stick after that save, I thought she was going to literally jump out of her gear.

Hell fucking yeah, eight ball(End) in the corner pocket, the USA scores five points to take the lead 10 to 5 and pretty much seals the Gold right there and then. First time ever for the USA to win Gold in the Olympics!!! Out of sight, WTG!!!
