On mine I tap the power button 3 times to get the mode flashing so I can change it.
I really dk wtf I'm doing but maybe it's different for different mods?

:ninja:
I could have changed to my preference without remembering.

Great video. I changed all my settings to match the ones in the video. But when I'm ready to use it and press the fire button it goes into cruise mode even though it's in power mode. And I can't figure out how to stop cruise mode. I deleted it from my clicks so it doesn't turn on when I'm firing. And with the tubo you can get out of cruise mode by just pressing the + button. That doesn't work with this.
I'm going to remove and reinstall the battery. But if that doesn't work it seems like it's not safe to use unless I get out of power mode.

Exiting cruise is the fire button now (since you can adjust temps during cruise too using the +-) and yes you do not need warm up (you can leave some clicks blank) but if you switch to temp mode with the .245 resistance you should be able to cruise and use it just like you would the Tubo I think... As I understand things at least

When I tap the fire button once it automatically looks like it's in cruise mode for like 2 seconds but it's really not. Try pressing once and waiting a little bit and see if the cruise bar goes away. If it stays for like 5+ seconds then yeah, there's probably something funk.

When I tap the fire button it says cruise and that doesn't go away. But it's not real cruise mode because if I stop pushing the button it goes off. And when I do hold the button it doesn't monitor time.
I still couldn't get power mode to work. I tried holding the fire button longer when it said cruise but even though it got warm there was no vapor.
I've gone back to TC mode and I'm taking cooling breaks.

What wattage were you at in power mode? You try stepping it up a bit?

I haven't tried increasing the power but way too hot in TC mode. I didn't wait to cool down before removing the splinter from the mod box and burned myself on the connector. I like the evic because I'm familiar with it but I'm going to change mods and give up on the evic. I bought but have not tried the reuleaux 2/3 yet so hope it's not too difficult.

It works very differently from the one AJS is showing - will that change if I upgrade to fj software. If not can someone send me their settings. (It looks very much like the one AJS is using so it seems like it should be similar.)

I am wondering if the evic is defective because as I've been playing around with the 2/3 there is no significant heat and the evic would be hot.

This sounds to me like you have the resistance set too high. Go to the menu and select Coils, then Manage. What is the value for TCR there? For the Splinter, it should be around .230-.235. The default for mine was .245 and it behaved exactly as you describe until I lowered the resistance.

Last night my friend came over and I wanted to show him how intense the Splinter can be. And well .. it was too intense for me.

While pretending to hold the Splinter like an alien gun from planet Hexon 6, and while shooting their natives called the Hexonites, I somehow managed to launch Splinter 5 feet on a hardwood table. The batteries from my mod box launched out and I tried to unscrew the Splinter and there was a grinding sound. The wood was spinning but the thread wasn't. Eventually something caught and I got the threads to unscrew. The plate at the bottom was coming apart from
The wood. So I pushed it back in and we're back in business. We'll see how long it holds but so far so good.

Also had an accidental combustion from my friend and the Splinter screen is stained. Everything works and was good science :). Damn hexonites.

Hmmmm...maybe the Splinter should carry a disclaimer regarding its ineffectiveness against alien force fields!? :freak::freak::freak::freak::freak::freak::freak::freak::freak::freak::freak::freak::freak::freak::freak::freak::freak:

I intentionally push every vapourizer I test to combustion, so I'm here to tell you that a combustion-stained screen is just a coming-of-age badge. More important is how easily the device loses the nasty taste. My Splinter didn't acquire any combustion flavour at all, but I had to clean the stem and screen.

I assume you've been in touch about the loose plate. This was an issue with one of the prototypes that I had. It was screwed on tightly and when I tried to remove it, I overpowered the adhesive. I got it to unscrew by applying pressure down while I turned it. It still worked fine, but of course I had to be careful screwing it on and off. Due to time pressure I had to forward it to @IAmKrazy2 in that condition, but @RastaBuddhaTao sent him instructions for fixing it and it made the rest of the rounds of prototype testers like that.

tl;dr: You can probably fix it yourself.

Has anyone found heat sinks useful as far as reducing heat radiating from mod?
If so have there been any notable resistance changes?

Noticed splinter gets pretty toasty down there too with high temp roasting.

Been thought about scooping one up, will post the first hand results for you if remember to buy one.

Had pretty high expectations of the splinter. However it really does not dissapoint. Easily the best vape i have ever tried. May still be in the honeymoon period, but got a feeling this will be my daily driver for a long while.

2 things i find impressive so far.

1) The vapor is pretty much instant. Not need to preheat like a Milaana.

2) The volume, density and coolness of the vapor. It really is a cloud machine, more so than the Milaana in my opinion. However the regulation seems to level out the temperature. This means the vapor is always managable and fairly cool.

Still experimenting with settings. I have tried a few things TC SS, TCR 185, power mode. They all work very well, but liking TCR 185. Might reduce the TCR to 150. 185 is a little hot.

Things i dont like. The height of the vape on the mod box. I am working on this. Looking at 3D priting a SBS DNA enclosure. Need to tweak some designs i found online. Not used CAD before but ill give it a go.

I dont like the new top hat screens. They dont stay in the stems very well. Lost one on the first use. Much prefer extreme q screens.
