Can you tell us how many ‘heat-ups’ you can get with this IH before a battery change? :)
(Meaning, the Portside Mini.)

@fcmember, did not (intentionally) mean to imply that the LiPo is more hardy than the 18650 when I replied, I had been using my IH collection in rotation, so it seemed like it was pretty hardy.

However, straight from the horse’s mouth, or Pipes:

“The Portside MINI is the smaller brother to the Portside and features a more pocketable size than its bigger sibling. The battery capacity is a little under half that of the Portside at around 800 mAH, but still more than enough for an evening out and about.”

Apologies if I may have caused false impressions. Mea culpa.

No, it's not. Or mines not... ;)

I ordered one of each, etched and not and they are both .8g. In fact they are lighter than my previous caps which are all .83g other than an earlier longer one that is .9g. The new ones are unused tho that shouldn't matter.

I have not used the etched cap yet so I can't comment on slower cooling tho I can't imagine why it would be. I probably won't use it, at least for a while as it is quite cool pristine. Like my dress watch it will only come out for occasions... ;)

Youre right, just weighed them on a scale and its not actually heavier than my non-etched one.

Is it a little to large perhaps? If it isn't mass? I had that prob with a plain cap in a previous order. (got a replacement. BTW)

It fits a bit looser than my other cap, could that affect cool down time? Did yours?

@ataxian said “WINE & CANNABIS 4 420.
Avocado's and CITRUS = DECENT @stark1 420 is bigger than most holiday'z?”

May be. U up 4 it? :bigleaf: Gonna be crazi civilized I like avocados, and artichokes from Castro Valley

Haven’t touched my cherry etched Cap either, wonder if it too will take longer to heat, hope it doesn’t
POP! lose it if I use it...

MARCH-ing in, then 4:20, fuck relative time is flying by fassst! Red shifted.

Well think about the air gap between the cap and the tip. If it is loose, then you can't form that thin layer of hot air as well. So you might heat the cap longer than with a firmer fit and the tip gaining heat as well. I was having trouble bringing the synergy together with the oversized cap. And got wise to that.

but the OG doesn't have the fins and air grooves. it's just a tube.. how does its draw resistance and performance compare to the M? maybe I could just put a cap on a piece of bamboo lol. if it won't burn
It'll burn lol , much better to just put the tip in the bamboo and enjoy the faint grassy notes that it adds to the vapour. Make sure you bind the ends of the bamboo about 1 cm from the hot end and around an inch from the mouth piece side. If you're using raw bamboo you need to sweat the resins out with a torch and rub them back over the bamboo.

@Winegums where do you source your bamboo? I have been panda-ing around
for some.

To Okin, or not to Okin. Lol
It's grown in my backyard for a long time and there's a big cluster going now. I harvest poles 2-3 times a year for various uses, mostly for gardening. I have a stack of dried poles most of the time since they're always useful to have handy.

It really helps to have an 8mm bit on hand to fit the tip to the bamboo. Also a word of caution is that the bamboo can split due to uneven moisture content as well as when you're cutting it. It may take several tries to get right so make sure you have a few poles to work with.

If anyone wants a full tutorial I'll write it up in my thread in the morning. I'm too loopy right now to type and it would be getting further off topic for the Vapcap thread.

@Mr.Sifter, did you order a small & large black stash tube? I like them very much.

@ataxian, I hope you're gonna enter the Haiku contest?

@Winegums, what are the 2 materials you bound the bamboo with & why did you bind? Looks like poly twine & pet wrap? Raw meaning unvarnished? I just so happen to have a piece that the tip fits into. It's a butterfly net I got at the dollar store.

@fcmember, the miniPS wasn't out when I got my PS. If I had to do it again, I'd go with the mini because of it's smaller form factor as I like to take it out with me. For my low usage (and your usage is less than mine), it's only gone down from 5 to 3 leds in the last 2+ months on 1 charge, so I think the mini would suit you fine.

Cute pic @stark1.

lets talk about tubes.

I like the green and purple ones.
the black XL tubes are a lot thinner and I think they wont live long.
The closing lid is not as firm as the smaller ones.

are the Snapstashs comparable to the green/purple or more the black ?

Can anyone post a picture of a small snapstash next to a standard green/purple storage tube ?

perfect.
thank you very much.

is the snapstash like the green/purple tube or like the DV xl tubes? Thickness-wise ?

I am looking for a doob tube replacement because they are impossible to get in the EU.
I could order in the US but that is not very economical.

The snapstash is feeling more durable than the XL tube, very much like a old school film case but smaller, dynavap send one free to me as a container when i ordered a ebony spinning mp months ago.
I bought the doobtubes just in local headshop for EU$2 only, I think it is a popular item in all the headshop/smoke shop.

Hiya, you can adjust the looseness/tightness of the cap by gently squeezing it. There are some Dynavap instructions for this somewhere.
For my M I use out and about I prefer a snugger fit so it doesn't fall off so easily.

Has anyone else that uses the squeeze technique noticed a difference in draw resistance between the same cap on the same tip with tight vs. loose fit?
I'm undecided..

I used red embroidery floss and white waxed linen cord for the other. I did it so that that the bamboo doesn't crack in half or split further than that point on the stem.

Raw, exactly like it sounds. Harvested green from the plant and untreated, not even dried. The butterfly net should work just fine.
