It's here!!! Got an unboxing and first use video waiting to be uploaded. The quality is amazing, vapor is thick, taste is great. What else to say. Basically a Milaana 1 shrunk down with reduced airflow for easier hits. Also it doesn't wobble anymore and feels way sturdier on a table. The Milaana 1 would wobble a tiny bit if you tapped the top, the Mi 2 doesn't budge. Really cool addition. The rounded edge is now squared off which adds to the much smaller size. Not quite as ergonomic without the curve, but I think that's because I'm so used to it. I think the smaller size is totally worth squaring it off and making it more balanced. Gets to temp super fast and is tuned a bit hotter than my Mi 1. The lower airflow makes it easier to adjust with the button tho in my opinion, but I think that also makes it so your breath has less of an impact. Basically, the new draw makes it easier to pick up on, but technically reduces the importance of a variable which means very experienced Milaana users may find theres less room to play so to speak. I'll need more testing but it seems button is more important than breath with this vape, which I think is how it was originally intended.

Sorry for the awful pics. The first one really shows it off nice tho. Lighting bad in the others. Huge thanks to RBT for this, such a wonderful piece and I'm blessed to be able to bring the good news to you guys.

Thanks for the description. As your experimenting with it please see what helps with cooling the vapor.

In terms of like ... long stem, bubblers, etc? Or do you mean in terms of technique, slower draw, button pulsing, etc ..?

Technique- I have found whips help with cooling if I don't use water.

@little maggie Sesh #2 is going much smoother than my first sesh video. This Mi2 seems to get to temp almost instantly once it's heated up. I preheat for 2 seconds or so and when I start drawing I quickly start feeling vapor and pulsing the trigger. Keeping the temp lower than what I would the Mi1 because the reduced airflow really helps bring out the heat. I'm managing to get hits that a warmish in the mouth but smooth on the throat and large on the exhale.

Edit: got the video up for you guys. Just a quick run through as I open and try the Mi2 for the first time. Hope whoever watches enjoys! :) Also, got about 6 stems give or take and the battery was at 3.68. Didn't seem like it was slowing down at all, still easily got to temp without hesitation. Brown LgHg2.

Milaana. Lana. LANA. LANAAAA! (TM2/TP80/BAK/FW9)
I never thought about it but I assume so! It's vaping more even so far than the regular Milaana I think. Doesn't matter if I pull slow or hard I just always get vapor!

Ah I do recall you did not yet have a Milaana with turbulator, but you have it in your Zion and Splinter. Another little variable for you I suppose, but it is only an improvement in even heating anyhow. Keep up the good work brother! Very pleased to see you with one of the first Mi2, could not go to a better tester!

I feel like the Splinter was great preparation for this. It is basically a combination of the Mi1 and the Splinter thrown into an unregulated vape. The reduced airflow is making it so easy to get clouds. I can pull as hard as I do with the grasshopper, and with the M1 it would create a dilution in vapor, but the Mi 2 only gets thicker. I realize a lot of us were drawn to the Mi1 because of the open airpath, but from the point of view of simply results, Mi2 functions better in my opinion. Good thing is, if you have a Mi 1 and love it, keep it and no sweat off your back. If you want a new experience but that signature RBT feel with some improvements to fit and finish, balance, size, and subjectively performance, the Mi 2 is coming!

I want to say objectively the Mi2 provides thicker vapor, but I'll wait for other experienced Mi1 users to compare as well. It's only been a day but this really kicks ass, and while the airflow was such a huge conversation piece of the Mi1, I truly believe others will think the reduced airflow does more harm than good. And in the end it's no a huge difference, definitely noticeable but not uncomfortable imo.

Quick hit with the Mi2 through water. Was pretty easy! Good flavor, restricted airflow made it much easier to milk quickly. Still loving it!

Edit: just did another rip and goddam. No more monitoring your breath, it just milks. Basically press trigger 2-3 seconds, inhale at moderate pace, vapor starts forming quick, let off trigger half a second, hold for a few, let off, hold. Less air going through I believe means the temp of the heater changes slower, so there's more room for error. If you let off the trigger half a second too long on the Mi1 you'd notice more of a decline I think compared to this Mi2. It's just all around easier to get bigger hits. I haven't used Mi1 in quite some time though ... maybe I'm just rediscovering my love for the Milaana haha! It might lead my lineup instead of the Splinter because of how small and appealing it is..until I crave that regulated vape again. Also Splinter is great for going through water without a light, no need to worry. Having a lot of fun with this Mi2 tho. Splinter much easier and more consistent but the Milaana 2 looks incredible and hits like a truck. There's something very appealing about changing temp literally by holding a button longer. Instant response in whichever direction you want. Basically a battery powered butane vape. Also, today I did, let's see ... 7 bowls, maybe 6, and battery is at 3.73.

The inspiration for the air Inlet was found in a VapCap M that was gifted to me by @Other Side . The air Inlet is positioned so that you can use it as a carb. This allows you to choke down the Inlet flow to slow the airflow giving the user a simple adjustable air flow. Given that the value is in real time airflow adjustments during the draw, an adjustable orifice was not considered. This also reduces the complexity and cost... designs are completed not when no more can be added, but rather when no more can be taken away.... its the only way an American company can compete against the $15 Chinese vapes. #JahBlessAlibaba

I agree, but I'm sure some people will say they preferred the v1 more open airflow. Also see how some people argued that using the intake as a carb hole added one extra variable and thus more hassle / complexity...

My remark was just that it's impossible to make everyone happy at once (excepted with a variable size inlet) but I was not necessarily suggesting it should be done. I think that if it makes the Milaana easier to use, then way to go!

They all say they want the super open air-flow but then they complain it's too open and they have to regulate their draw and can't huff like an elephant.

In the CFV/SwiftPro they built the restriction right in the vape (like Arizer did in the Solo at first) For sure it doesn't please everyone, but the net result is that it's braindead easy to use: just draw! Really idiot-proof and perfect for noobs. But yeah, restriction is not the most pleasant feeling...

The Inlet is sized to provide optimum flow resistance for the heater system under normal use. If desired, added flow resistance can be added To boost heat / stall flow in the load. Everyone will be happy other than those who don't underand the physics involved with making great convection vapor ;) #continuousimprovement

The Mi2 wood run is complete but I don't believe that a variable orifice will be considered in Mi3? I do have a design in mind for Splinter... just don't see the value of it after using the current 2 Inlet system. It's like TC... just another limited value feature that the customer ultimately pays for... careful what you wish for lol.

Well at least TC even if not precise can provide a nice safety net: once setup properly you can't combust how hard you may try. Allows to be completely distracted and still get great results...

That being said, if the Splinter is comparable to the Zion, then I could understand that the added value would be not so big. With just voltage regulation and the right amount of inertia thanks to the large mass of glass and steel, the Zion tastes even better than all my mod-operated vapes in TC mode. You really did wonders in that one!

@AJS Firstly, Thank you so much for all of your insights. You have taught me numerous things about using my Milaana and I appreciate all of your observations on this new model.
Secondly, on the new airflow - does it make noise? I am always amazed by the silence of the Milaana. I was wondering if this is different in Milaana II. Thanks!

Wow thank you so much you're much too kind! Glad I could help!

It is silent! If you pull hard enough you'll get a whisper from the air inlet though, but she only whispers nice compliments.

On a side note, I've discovered a technique I don't think has ever been previously discussed in RBT threads.

As a way to get super smooth low temp hits consistently with still good vapor production...you won't believe this...i preheat for 7 seconds and hit without holding the button down. It's genius. Just ride the risidual heat. Literally never draw when the button is pressed, only once you let go. You'll get vapor for a solid 6-8 seconds or so without the trigger and get a super smooth, tasty, visible vapor hit. Will you waste more battery? Yes. Will your vape get hotter than needed? Yes. Is it worth it? Fucking totally. Brings the meaning of smooth vapor to a whole new level. Man that's fun. Works incredibly well if you don't wait long between hits. 30 seconds to a minute between hits would be perfect with this method. Note the Milaana is not designed to be used this way, but I'm not designed to use things how they're designed :)

Also :) (the first pic is one of the few that almost shows off how well this thing shines)

So was ripping the Mi2 yesterday and was wondering why I wasn't getting much vapor. Figured the battery had to have been dead. Tossed it on the charger: 3.11. Oops haha. Lowest I've ever dropped a battery. Still got hits tho! Not used to this single battery unregulated anymore haha. Used to 2-3 batteries in a mod lasting me days with a battery meter. I'll get used to it again haha.

Taught the ol girl how to hit the Mi2. Shed never used an RBT product and picked it up within a few tries. Her first hit was always nothing, but the second one she would always let get a little hotter and would get a nice little cloud she enjoys. She's not a bigger hitter in the slightest so full convection isn't really her style but she absolutely loves the look and wood of the Mi2. Solo 2 suits her vaping style tho :). If she can get vapor then I think anyone can haha.

Is the wood on the bottom supposed to look different than the top? Not a huge fan of that look personally.

On this specific unit. Idk about all of them. I think some are matching. Personally I was never a fan of the mis match either but I truly do like it on this one. I think because I see it as two separate entities, the body and the base. I wrote a whole artistic perspective bullshit piece on IG about it, sorta jokingly, but holds some truth to how one perceives it. I enjoy it now.

Edit: just realized in another post I said "reduced airflow does more harm than good". I meant the opposite, hope that was properly read contextually at least. I definitely prefer the airflow how it is now :). Had to fix that, sorry!
