What's with this SWIM stuff?

Can someone please enlighten me on this. Are people actually concerned that the feds are monitoring this site and that the federal pot police are gonna go through the trouble to trace your IP on this site back to your home address and come knocking down your door at 2 in the morning?

Sorry if that sounded a bit sarcastic, but to me, this verges in the realm of paranoia, no? I mean, does anyone know if this has actually happened to anyone?

I know, huh. It is annoying but I'm not quite sure why. :/

But I get the same feelings when one is talking about themselves in the third person. It's like you want to slap them in the head and yell, "Stop it !!"

Ellipsis are annoying? I use them a lot to indicate a long pause, longer than a comma would indicate. Comes from many decades spent in the advertising/marketing arena. Never thought that they may be annoying though.

I was attempting a little sarcasm. I use them all the time, mostly when typing short thoughts.. incomplete sentences.. stuff that I type just the way it comes out of my head. :peace:

SWIM wanted me to pop in and say that SWIM is very happy when SWIM vapes marijuana. SWIM likes the hits from SWIM's launch box and whip hits from SWIMS dbv, but SWIM REALLY loves vape-bonging through SWIM's big ol' 2ft bong. SWIM gets really fucked up off a good vape-bong rip and likes how it feels like I'm swimming through the air...

Ive seen that style used mostly in boards where they discuss hard drugs and things like that. I always found it irritating but if your into that kind of thing, I suppose the extra layer of protection is necessary, even if its just in the feeling you are doing more.

Could be necessary a necessary evil. Not that many of us have to worry but, everything you do on the net can be traced back to you. I think the worry comes in if a 3rd party were to go back into your internet history and smear you, or take stuff out of context...

It seems pretty funny now but wait 5,10,15 years....people from this internet age will be held accountable for things they have said/done in the past. Internet postings etc...

or someone guessed your password and posted things under your account. I don't really think that posting on the internet will be that admissible in court. Even if you posted your full name, you could still claim it was someone else. if they can trace it back to an IP you can say someone got on your PC while you were out, or your wifi was unsecured.

i think internet paranoia is usually well beyond what it should be
