@Mr.Sifter, did you see my post here. The 2 links that were removed for the F187 & 188 you can easily find going to steven's website. You can see the bubblers listed in action on at popularglass.com & search on youtube. The d2020 has a different perc. I personally love a fab egg.

I do not have that piece... yet. I have 2 of that pipe on the way, probably a few weeks before I'll see them. I love "swiss" fab splash guards, HF (HFY) Glass currently has a turbine disc bent neck with swiss splash guard that is awesome!

I do have that piece, and highly recommend it as a medium diffusion driver piece.

Yes, I've done business with "headshopyx", they are a manufacturer and they have good stuff... I love their clear tall tubes with perc trees, great glass!

I believe they are currently on the "exceptional sellers" list in my DHGate sellers thread, so I'm not the only one who is happy with them. :)

I do like the looks and size of that piece and I'm with you on liking low diffusion. No fritted percs in the Baron residence. :-)

A "Swiss" splashguard is a fabricated "hole-ey" section (like on fab eggs) that is designed to stop splash of water up into the neck when using the pipe. Most "Swiss" fabbed sections are in percolator sections of pipes, but I think they work GREAT as splash guards, and should be used more often for that function. :)


BTW, I have one fritted perc piece... but I almost never use it. I prefer multiple stacked perf discs or stacked matrix diffusers when I want high diffusion. I personally find fritted discs to be too hard to clean, and too draw restrictive... at least the ones I've tried. ;)

I added the link to the HF Glass turbine piece in the post above.

That pipe you posted the link for is super common, unremarkable, and has a delicate bubble base instead of a thick seperate base. I would personally take a pass on that one... there are better "tornado pipes" out there. ;)

I have it.. Funny, but not for a daily driver/everyday use.
To use rather with one hitter style vapes, because the water takes a certain time to go down in the lower part. Draw restrictive. Nice & fun for the vapcap but unsuitable for the TI.
(you can have it for less than on your link.. around $20/25)

I dab rosin at 490-560F in a dnail sic dish. It does leave a small amount (reclaim for lack of a better name) that's easily cleaned with a q-tip. If I were to bump the temps up I'd get less reclaim. The difference probably isn't much, but it is what it is.

Over time, and were talking weeks/months, I get a reclaim build up in my drop down and carb accessory that I scrape out every month or two. I'd probably get less here as well if I hit my nail at higher temps.

For me I dab at temps I enjoy, and don't worry about a small amount of reclaim.

Those are called "button" percs, sometimes called "cross button".
They are a good, simple, fairly low diffusion percolator... I have 2 or 3 pipes with that design and I like them all. It's about the same diffusion you get from a tree perc. Decent flavor.

Jellyfish percs and tree percs are similar, and I've seen some companies use the terms interchangeably. I personally think of "Jellyfish Perc" as being half domed on top, with a thin middle, then a thicker bottom with arms that come down, then bend outward. Kind of like the center perc on this pipe:

Others might have other ideas, and I'm sure there's a super technical description somewhere that tells you exactly what one is... a document the Chinese are blissfully unaware of as they write descriptions for these pipes! :D

So I'm going to visit some friends down in SD soon and they only have spoon pipes so I wanted to get them some cheap glass that they can smoke and dab out of, I really like the look of the jet perc rig, the dual function one is ugly as fuck but it's 2 pieces in one... I want something nice n thick so it won't get broken so easy, looking to spend no more than $40 (not including shipping). My other option is to snag a cheap gooroo or special k piece at my LHS as they regularly have them for 60 and under. What do y'all think?

@Kanna_Kult First off mate, I think you're a really good friend and it's a really nice, thoughtful gift. Especially as they've only been using spoons, a proper piece of glass is gonna blow them away! :tup:

Second thing, you've posted the same link for the rig, lol! So I think subliminally you've already made your decision man. It's good-looking, good perc imo, and a nice thick base. What's not to like? Of course I can't judge the other option, but a reliable source says it is ugly as fuck so my vote is no.

My reasoning? It's their first (& only) water piece, so they'll be using it all the time, every day right? Then functionality aside, it needs to look good yeah? They're going to love using it, looking at it, and getting compliments from other friends. Do they already have all the other bits they'll need to dab? Anyway, good luck with whatever way you eventually go.

I have that piece, without the logo. I bought it from another seller other than "Clean Clear Glass", as they only had the logo version in stock, and I'm just not a brand or logo guy... other than TaG maybe, they did a cool one! :)

Anyway, It's my favorite "short can" lately... it's just a really attractive, functional, thick and strong pipe. 62mm (2.5") diameter, it's about like holding a can of coke. It's the perfect weight and height to be something you want to handle and grab on the go, unlike many 12" and larger pipes where it sometimes seems like a chore to deal with.

You really can't go wrong with that one! :)

Yeah to me it looks like a slightly bigger version of the black Toro one in Vapecritic's original video. That is the one my mum is currently using with her Showerhead (which she DIGS more and more everyday.:rockon:)

So, similarly easy as a comfortable handheld pipe still, bit smoother/cooler perhaps.

It's the stars that really bug me... why would they put stars on it? I like the flower of life pattern but they had to make a damn star border.

It's not their first piece also, I've given them bongs in the past they just move all the time so they don't currently have one. I'm getting them something smaller this time because last time I gave them a 4 footer and it was to big to move with lol

Are you're friends Dallas Cowboys fans? LOL, I have to agree mate, those stars really fugly up the whole piece. But it's available in clear glass, no sandblasting (no stars!) and all 3colors of perc for 4 bucks less. But the other rig has infinitely more class, imo. I still vote for the first one. PEACE!

That is NOT a real D020 and appears to be trying to trade of the very popular style name. Bummer. The real D020 is a great small piece. This one is kinda odd. Here is the real one. (When I say real, I mean the original copy. I don't think SS actually designed this.)

I noticed that someone (Summer maybe) was trying to post the FC-187 but the mods pulled it because it had a fake logo. Looks like Baron23 slipped one past the mods.

Just FYI, when you want to post a counterfeit labeled piece, look further down in the listing to see if there is an unlabeled pic, like this one in the same listing. It is available both ways. I won't buy a labeled counterfeit and they can't be posted here.

I happen to love this piece. I have one with a bad perc that I have had for a while and I recently ordered a replacement for it. Thick glass and great effect. And reasonably priced. The one with a bad perc had been sidelined until I started using wide open vapes (RBT), and it works OK with them, but I want a better one.

OK, so my new FC-187 arrived today from Steven, 14 days from order. It is ALMOST perfect, and with the coupon it cost me only $13 delivered. It's only flaw is the female joint is dropped about 4mm into the can. The good news is that put the perc VERY low in the can which is great. So far I don't see any way that should be a problem. The perc works well and the draw is comfortable. It is a much better perc than my other 187, which will now go on a shelf.
I didn't get my request for a M2M instead of the flower bowl in fast enough, so I have another flower bowl that is useless to me, and a promise from Jane that she will add one to "your next order". I'll live. And given how much I like Steven's stuff there WILL likely be another order some time. Probably the FC Mod. Not soon, tho... ;)

Steven, if you are watching you are still doing great work. Thanks.

So, here they are next to each other. The new one is on the right. It has a thicker base, a shorter can (by about 1/2") and a better perc very near the bottom. The perc being so high in the older one was one of the things I really didn't like but was livable. The two pieces are very close in total height because the MP stem on the new one has a little bigger angle, which is also an improvement to avoid any water in it.

I should be much happier with this one.

One last thing. Looking at the pic on my earlier post (above) of this piece from Steven's page, that sample also has the dropped joint so it wouldn't have been a surprise if I had looked close enough. That also suggests it is NOT a flaw, but intended, probably to get the perc lower. So from that perspective, this piece is about perfect.

I have a fc-187 from Steven that's a couple years old. It looks like your newer one, on the right. Except I don't think my base is that thick. It's fairly thick tho. And I use mine almost daily with a dynavap and a 14/18 adaptor. Works great.

On shipping time with Steven, I ordered 5 fc-186 pieces from Steven on black Friday (x-mas presents) and they arrived January 2 :(. But they all are solid pieces, and work very well.
