As I'm on android & there is no final mass firmware release yet, I, too, experience a lack of vapor. I've been waiting for, what, 3 months now?, so I'm gonna go the distance & see what happens when the firmware is released.

I love the smoothness of the vapor. The ergonomics & weight feel great in the hand. I like the vibration & sound indicators for the regulated draws. I have no problem with the crucible, but I'm a micro-doser. Although I've adjusted to the analog programming sequence, I would love to see a digital version. And I'd love to see swappable batteries, not the way-over-priced battery pack & charger. I haven't had overheating in the last so many crucibles (maybe due to adjustment of draw speed & stem height), but then again I only take 5 or 6 hits. (lol -- now that I've said this, I'll probably go back to overheating!) Previously I was overheating after 3 - 5 draws. My battery level goes from 3 to 2 after 3 crucibles.

Edited to add: the vape is very solid structurely as 1/2 of it's outer shell & parts are metal. And although I don't get the quality/enjoyment of vapor I'm seeking, even when you don't get any or very little vapor it's amazing to me how you readily get micro-dosed. I'm assuming this is a trait of all convection vapes.

i just experienced overheating and it was only when the device was working like it should. im goin to see if using the app makes any kind of difference

I know this will seem harsh, but your ghost appears to be well suited to you. You've been a huge critic and fan, you're both very inconsistent.

Maybe some reflection before declaring elegance?

I think you read into my texts a lil much. sorry if you don't like my opinions and my change of them constantly, just the kind of person I am. i mean come on what purpose does this comment serve? I cant even tell if this is supposed to be an insult or a joke? im having issues with my device... idk why the rude comment

@Zow237, let me take a shot at explaining how us Ghost fans feel to non-Ghost fans.

I know this will seem harsh, but your ghost appears to be well suited to you. You've been a huge critic and fan, you're both very inconsistent.

Well, the ghost's inconsistencies are what is making us appear inconsistent; I assure you, not our personalities. :D

If anything, we appear whiny. Because ... (a lead in to your 2nd statement):

Maybe some reflection before declaring elegance?

The problem is that, for those of us who are having issues, there are those infrequent times she functions beautifully, right up there with the best-of-the-best, so we know the potential of this vape. We're frustrated to not be achieving that level of functioning that we know & have seen is possible (check out @Dazza78's utube vids.). Hence, we whine ... no, we lament. See, it's not frustrating, it's utterly infrustrating to those of us who love regulated convection vaping & who love the architectural design of this particular vape. You can't possibly know this unless you've experienced those rare, but fabulous hits & felt this thing in your hand. See, if you love this vape style & you're satisfied in it's functioning you are among the ones who are, literally, over-the-moon in their adoration of it, but if you are among those of us whose units are functioning sub-par, then you're, literally, lamenting over it's heartbreakingly disappointing performance.

I'm hoping that Ghost will be able to get this working optimally & consistently. For us early adopters who purchased through @VCBud we still have the return option to return through Ghost, itself, if not through Bud(?). So being that I know the potential, I am willing to wait out release of the open firmware fix, & if sufficient enough, will keep the device to enjoy the pending future updates they are planning. I do know that the MV-2 will be marvelous , but that won't be for, what, another 1-1/2 or 2 years? I'd hate to give up this vape for that long -- if only my unit could function at 80% of what I believe it to be capable of I, too, would be over-the-moon. I have much respect for GhostVapes for even bringing this design to the table. (Hence leading to the ArGo, which is a combo of the tiny Fury 2 & the MV-1; smart move on Arizer's part. And it's just the 1st true convection vapes starting to move away from the mod box style). And, yes, it has initially gone the way of the grasshopper, but from my interactions w/ Patrick, ghostvapes official , on VLF, I have no doubt that this is one solid management team who, unlike GH, is gonna be able to right-the-ship (I'm sure some of you would say, dig it out ;)) in a short time. They haven't put their heads-in-the-sand nor folded-up, & have repeatedly shown that they fully embrace the concept of goodwill in business.

If I had to do it over again, I would wait for the MV-2 release & I confidently would be an early adopter. But as I have this one, & there are so many things I love about it, I'd hate to have return it & be without for that long. It's like having a roommate -- hate that they're always around, but if they were never to return, you'd sorely miss them. :p Of course, not true, if you're @LabPong, who, after lamenting over returning his MV-1, mended his broken heart when he recently rec'd. his new FP. I think they're at the beginning of their love affair. ;)

& to VCBud, I say, I'm taking your advice & staying up. :D :leaf: :spliff: Dawn is shortly breaking on (naturally, on & not in, as we're on an island) our little neck of the woods.

Almost there...
I am with @Zow237 here with regards to consistency of the vape, which leads to ease of use of the vape and it's performance.
In my opinion a vape should work out of the box as advertised.
Charge up the battery, grind and load according to recommendations, turn unit on and go through the motions of a session.
This is EXACTLY how all my other vapes work, butane vapes take some skill to master, but an electrical device that is SET to operate at certain temps should pump out vapor every time it is used.
My experiences mimic @Zow237 with fantastic sessions and then nothing using the same bud.

I will keep on trying but wasting bud is not high on my priority list...

Please do not comment on another members posting style or personality unless you are being complimentary. If you feel that you must, please use a PM. This is the sort of comment that ignites flame wars.

If someone offends you and you think a rule was broken, report it and do not respond. If you feel a response is necessary, please use a PM.

Thanks for your cooperation.

My MV1(s) are very consistent. When the battery drops from 3 green to 2, there’s consistently a large drop in output performance... Leave that same crucible installed that failed to deliver at the same temp level and pop in a fully charged battery pack and BAM! Way more power. So, either you raise the temp level to compensate, which does work great btw, or you replace the battery packs.

1 green battery does seem to last a lot longer than 2 or 3.

Hopefully Ghost will fix this somewhat minor (cuz I have 5 battery packs...! ;):clap::rockon:) problem in a future firmware update.

Well, I don't have the android app yet @Bologna & I'm using red 1, level 5 & I think it still needs to be warmer.

And, yes, @lazylathe, it should work out of the box, but in this case it didn't.

I pretty much only use the app to install firmware and usually run the device at the factory preset temp levels. I manage to get good vapor from a 1 green battery pack on level 5 (2 red)... but that’s me and I do usually only use fully charged packs... I do agree that you probably should be able to raise it even more to compensate tho...

I’ve used 3 brand new devices out of the box and honestly all 3 have worked the same... consistent, reliable and predictable. Great.

I need all 3 of the ones you've used ;) so when I set my temps for level 4 and 5, those will be present even when the app isn't running? Or just goes to its presets?

Yes. It will use whichever temp was set (or not) without needing to use or be paired with the app while operating the device... until you change it again with the app...

That said.....Im only missing a mobile unit.....so only the future will help me here as I see nothing I want to fill that void with yet.....MV2....hopefully.

I gotta say, I've liked then disliked this device. Sometimes when it works for a few hits I like it. Then is sucks and I stop liking it. Right now, the company sucks as i have asked for a replacement in September or October, told in November an app was coming, and now all emails since Christmas have been ignored. All I asked for was a replacement. And radio silence....

@Brewervapesalot, did you send an pm to ghostvapesofficial (Patrick) on the Vape Life forum?

I have not. The rep, Whitney, sent me this on December 12, and it's the last i heard from her:

"Hi [Me],

Whitney with GHOST Vapes here. We are working diligently to get the Android app out as soon as possible, and I thank you for your patience.

Best,

Whitney

GHOST Vapes Customer Support"

THANK you for help.... will try that forum....

We'll you can try contacting Patrick, but if you are on android, you very likely might still experience the same issues until a functioning app is released. Now is you were on iphone you'd be set. Sounds like your experience mimicks mine I detailed above.

I hear you and appreciate it. It's not a huge deal, I just really don't like the lack of customer service. I should have not have to PM them on a forum; I had their ear via email. There's a lot of good vapes out there, and i own a few, so I prefer to buy from companies that treat customers well. This company has likely lost me.

Ghost post on VLF last night:

“Very happy to advise that 5 of our new videos have just gone live on our YouTube channel:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTPgcQRrreRDw44MOM58oRQlueTI1zUXJ

There are 2 more coming out soon - troubleshooting and how to use the App.

We will be linking our FAQ answers on the Ghost Vapeswebsite, to the relevant section of the videos and the new Product Manual will also be interactive.

Please ignore the slight quality issues - these are first cut versions. The final ones are being reshot and should be available within a couple of weeks.

Hope these videos help you to get the best performance out of your MV1.

Best

Patrick”
