Wong is standard 14 mm joints, fits Touch and Essence. The Wong is three inches long including the tapers.
Does yours have a slide battery door or the screw model

Sounds like slide if it had the switch right? @oddjobold you can try just reversing the battery door instead of the switch, but I also don't find I need to use the switch too often, just to be extra safe when not using for a while

Yep its the slide door. Thanks for the tips!

How loose is your battery door? Mine is looser than i would like. Takes very little effort to move it - kinda bugs me. Never had any connection issues though. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make it stiffer? Obliviously i have the sliding door model.

Added a liitle tape on the underside of the lid. Avoided the copper contact. Much better.

This really is a great vape. Smoother and more comfortable than a milaana. You can lean on the fire button more. You can feel the hot vapor telling you to stop pulling. This could be a keeper. It almost feels regulated sometimes. Love it!

Really trying hard to like this vaporizer but it’s too hard to use correctly. I’ve tried reading the threads and watching videos but I can’t seem to find the sweet spot with this device. It just ends up burning my load.

For instance how many hits on average will a bowl give you?

When I exhale the clouds are more smoke than vapor...

I love the custom wood feel and the on demand method has it’s usage but the learning curve it too steep for a vape newbie like me.

Are you inhaling fast? It sounds like you are at least heating while inhaling or preheating too long.

Yep I’m preheating. But so many hits are empty (no vapor) that I then go nuts pushing the button for 5 seconds while inhaling. I think the issue is I don’t how much to breath in. I do a long steady draw but maybe it’s too soft? One thing I noticed is that if I open my mouth as a draw, vapor production is better...

First of all: don't give up! The MVT might be hard to master at first, but when you do you will find it's an excellent vape.

I think I just read your posts in the ArGo thread, so my advice would be to first get the hang of what you should expect with a fully regulated vape like the ArGo, get used to the draw speed and amount of vapor you can get. Then when you'll come back to the MVT you will have more comparison points.

Then read the whole thread here and you will find many users describing their technique with the MVT, and I'm sure you will find one that works for you.

Trigger timing is as important as draw speed, you need to be consistent with both. Also it's normal to get a couple wispy hits when starting from cold, unless you preheat more to compensate. The various glass parts need to accumulate some heat before good vapor production gets going.

Mentally counting helps a lot. The way I do it is: hold trigger while counting to two for preheat, keep trigger pressed while drawing and counting to 4 or 5, release trigger but keep drawing, then while drawing alternate one second of trigger and 1.5 to 2 seconds without, on off on off... until my lungs are full. Ah and draw directly to the lungs, not by creating a depression with your cheeks (lung hit vs mouth hit)

@datayoda sent a pm, you can send it in for a free evaluation. May need a coil adjustment.

I agree with Kero this sounds like a technique issue, its still early @datayoda, and manual pure convection vapes like this take time and are even impossible for some. Lot of great tips here in the thread though, good luck!

Thanks @KeroZen - I'll give it a try again this Friday. I really want to keep both devices (Argo & MistVape) but only if I can become proficient with the mistvape touch. Thanks!

Using two vapes at once, especially vapes as different as these, can make it even harder to learn the ins and outs of one to get the most out of it btw. I'd recommend focusing on just one for a while, then switching to the other. Otherwise it will take longer to develop your own individual technique with all the variables present

I might have had a defective 18650 battery when I used the mistvape. I don't think it was fully charged. I rushed to buy the ArGo and it comes with it's own 18650 and the session was fine. While i waited for the ArGo to arrive I bought new 18650s but never got around to test them in the MVT.

Thanks everyone. I'll focus on the MVT with a fresh battery this weekend and use the techniques I'm reading in this thread and the PM messages!

@datayoda any news on your MVT journey? Hope it is cranking for you.

In other news I am planning on doing some engraving and inlay work this month. With access to the laser engraver I am going to do some picture engraving. I'm thinking an eagle, a dog and one other animal. Anyone have a suggestion?
Been working on a star cross and will do a few of those with various types of inlay wood, purple heart, snake wood and yellow heart for starters. This has been on the list for a year now, finally time to get going on it.

Very Nice! Octopus? Aquatic creatures would match the porthole well

So the session was Sunday night. It was better than before as I got some nice vapor from the Trainwreck strain vs the Key lime pie. Now i’m more familiar with drawing and feeling when to start stop the breathing and push/release the button. Or so I thought because it looks like it’s combusting when I take the bowl out to check. The center is black while the surroundings are brown/green. In short it’s not heating evenly. I’ll just have to practice more ;)

I really wish it had a digital temperature on the side to teach me the right time to impress the button.

Since my health break I've been using the mistvape almost exclusively.
I like the vape that I have with cruise control but for some reason I'm finding the mistvape pretty simple and brainless to use. Which is what I need right now. I am also pretty wary about anything that's going to lead to coughing since I'm still not fully healed from the physical damage caused by coughing when I was sick. I'm using a long whip and a long stem and I can't even tell whether I've inhaled vapor until I exhale and see the clouds of smoke. It is that mild and smooth.

@datayoda glad it is starting to work out for you. The charring is an issue but can be overcome by technique, you have to stop heating a little before you think you have to. Stir every few hits for the best results. Did you get a stir kit? The stir kit became standard in the fall I think.
any other questions please post here or send me a msg

I just wanted to stop in and say hi. I've had my MVT for a couple of weeks now and I absolutely love it. It fits in perfectly with my vapcaps, and bricks. It is so simple, and beautiful. Battery lasts forever. It was fun to learn technique, and still learning new ways to use it. I have the basket screen upside down, and not pushed all the way in, and just rotating I can get a pretty complete roast without stirring. Almost a microdoser, about the same load size as a vapcap. I traded a vape for it. I also got a wong and stir kit with it. Wanted to show some love directly so I ordered a blue stem and some screens from the mistvape site. Thanks Dave, for making such a kick ass vape! I look forward to many years of use.
