What box mod are you using / recommending for on-demand convection 510 vapes?

Or maybe we should really implement that custom Milaana idea with the DNA board embedded directly into it, as discussed in the DYI RBT thread?

Circuit is damn easy, only 4 wires to connect. There are online services that could allow us to have a control panel plate CNC'ed out of aluminium, and if I recall correctly there might even be some ready-made ones for custom modders out there.

Battery contacts, 4 wires, button caps for +/- and trigger, maybe some thin plexiglass rectangle to protect the screen... that's about it I think?

This sesh use AB. Next sesh AC. Next sesh BC. Continue that if you're concerned. Batteries are cheap. I'm no expert, but my batteries are still all depleting at the same rate and I don't rotate. I'm not concerned. I'll buy a new battery if I kill one, but they're still holding an amazing charge. So good that I haven't used my 3 battery backend in quite some time, and I charge once every 2 days or so because the battery life is so good. But it's still nice to have the option. Truly is.

I'm pretty ignorant about mods. A couple of questions: What is the advantage of 2 batteries vs 1.
I want to get one that uses the same software as the tubo since I'm somewhat familiar with that. Will all the mods listed above that are compatible with that software be somewhat similar to the evic?

Apparently the top is flat so it should accommodate attachments of any diameter. The Splinter might overhang perhaps as it's beefy? But it's only a cosmetic issue... From what I've seen so far the Splinter looks better on dual or triple cells mods or those meant to accept 26650 cells.

But really at this price for a DNA75? I wouldn't hesitate, it's less than what you can get the bare board for. I even wonder how they turn any kind of margin! In fact I even tried to order one but apparently it's complicated to ship to Europe... They have a UK shop but it's sold-out and considerably pricier, even when you factor the VAT and import duties...

The number of cells affects the autonomy before you need to recharge or swap. It's like the difference between the Tubo and Tubo Dual, the later has two cells where your Tubo has just one.

The mod inside your Tubo is a Joyetech evic VTC mini and the one inside the Tubo Dual is a evic VTC dual.

There is a list of models compatible with the tuboevic firmware on the Tubo site or manual. If you get one of those, you'll be able to install tuboevic on it and then the interface on screen will be exactly the same as what you have in your tubo.

The higher end mods we are talking about don't support tuboevic but they have their own quality firmware already so it's not needed. They have a different interface though as well as configuration software. But it's fundamentally the same thing you know: just a mean to set the temperature.

FWIW, I recently purchased a Hcigar box mod with Evolv's VT75 C chipsets after having competed what I thought was sufficient due diligence on this particular unit. However, upon further investigation I discovered that a number of reviewers REALLY DO NOT LIKE the organization, or lack thereof, of the default "Themes" that come with VT75 C, which of course is the same chipset, as I understand it, that "supports" the LavaBox M.

That said, the reviewers have indicated that with the Escribe software, which can be downloaded from the Evolv website, one can "fix" those issues if they are willing to learn that software application. In my own case, I think I'll likely return the unit with the VT75 C platform and purchase instead, the Hcigar VT75 D, which the reviewers have indicated was revised to present the necessary data in a better organized fashion, thereby not requiring one to learn Escribe. Still, for $40 that LavaBox deal is tempting!

Just bought one of these at local vape shop (sinuous 80) for 40 bucks. Pretty awesome, but now I'm thinking I should have gotten one with 2 Batteries for the splinter . I'm 206 so I got time. So far so good on the panel style fire button. Very pocket friendly, charges quick as heck. Using a crown 111 by u well. Cheers, can't wait to get the splinter! D.

I just wrote Wismec about their new Wismec Reuleaux DNA250 TC Box Mod, asking them if they could make the housing in another design as, to me, as a woman, it's as ugly as sin. I also asked them if they could make it a 2/3 version. Love the magnetic backend.

I've read the same from some reviewers. I'm very new at this so that's something to consider.

But when I read things like,
"Performance in all modes is extremely good, as one would expect from an Evolv DNA chip. Temp control doesn’t get any better than this, and wattage mode is dead-on accurate.",

Found this outfit in Texas - http://dripp3d.com - w CNC'd enclosures and DNA kits, have nice wiring diagrams to show just how easy it can be. I've been happily running a evic mini - mostly on power mode, as @KeroZen has noted TC mode is inconsistent - w my Splinter, but it's such an awesome vape and I'm ready for a mod w/ real TC and cruise to get the full experience, and DNA seems to be the shit.

Course, I'm also persnickety about design, I like single-battery mods and was looking seriously at the lavabox, but it's got too much detail for me, you know? Like in this modern CAD-designed age, there's a little too much design work in most things, too many lines, too many compound curves, too much we-can-so-we-did. Silly distinction, I suppose.

I really liked the Hana Modz copper DNA-based mods, but they don't appear to exist as a company any more. The dripp3d kits have similar, tho two-battery, style and I've been packing an extra battery anyway, so I now have a copper DNA75 kit on the way, $104 shipped, I'll report here once it's built. I think it'll be gorgeous paired w/ my walnut Splinter.

I heard back from Volcanoecigs and they told me they are discontinuing the Lavabox range, hence the discount. The UK shop will not restock and all that is left is some red units in the Hawaian shop. Unfortunately for me, international shipping is a bit of a hassle, I would need to mail them my CC info as they don't use Paypal and it's a no-go to me.

I'll most likely end up building my own side-by-side design mod at some point, using a DNA75 kit. If the DNA75Color consumes more energy (makes sense) I don't want that version, I don't look at the screen much so I don't care if it's monochrome. I hope they won't discontinue the old version in favor of the color one though...
