BVAS - Anyone suffering with me?

Dear group,

my name is Dynavaper. And I suffer from Backup Vaporizer Acquisition Syndrome (BVAS).
Whenever I really like a vape, then I have the urge to buy the same device at least once again. For backup purposes. One never knows what might happen. That lead to me having at least 2 units of each vape that I love. Sometimes even more. It's a tad crazy.

This very moment, I am enjoying my OG Sticky Brick. I consider buying another one. Maybe it breaks. That would be such a pity. Who knows if there are still OG Sticky Bricks around when mine breaks? Hey, I know: It will probably never break. What should happen to that tank? But still, you know...

The funny thing is: I am not obsessive at all with everything else in life. It just happens to me with vapes...

Am I the only weirdo here? Please tell me that I am not!

I'm guilty of owning multiple vapcaps but that's completely understandable since they're all different. Having said that I do have 2 IQ's, in the same color even, but that wasn't intentional, not really at least.

I actually bought 3 different vapes so far. But I can see your reasoning. If I found the correct vape that does wonders and works for my asthma. I might just buy another one If I felt that there may not be another one like it in the future. But with the arizer air, you do not have to worry as the battery is always replaceable. the combustion chamber will last forever which they back up for 5 years.

I suffer from VAS but not BVAS. I like variety. If I was attached to a sticky brick I'd probably buy a dreamwood because of that. I do get tempted by upgrades though and have several milaana.

I’ve felt the urge but have not acted. I own a Volcano and whenever I see one up for sale in classifieds or on reddit I get tempted to buy another as a backup but haven’t pulled the trigger yet haha.

I have two Epic eNano's and three Arizer Solo's.

The eNano is my daily driver and I would hate to be without it were it to fail. And the Solo's I keep around primarily for use outdoors or to pass among friends.

Me, too. 2 e-nanos, 2 solos, 2 glass sherlock Vapor Genies, etc. It's an affliction. VAS: Demon of Disposable Income.

I love my Vapcaps and have lots of Vapcaps as backups. I'm not what you'd call a prepper but I do like having sustainable essentials in case everything ever goes to shit.

One essential is the Vapcap cause it will still be working when the lights go out. Along with a stash of herb, seeds and a variety of lighters and a dozen or so cans of butane, I figure I'll be in good shape for a good long while.

Why extra Vapcaps? Imagine losing your only one with no way to get another. We all need a stash of Vapcaps, just in case.

The backups to the backup Vapcaps are a couple Lotus, regular and high temp plates and a couple Vapman.

3 vapcaps, 3 milaanas, 3 Hi's, 5 UD's. Yeah, it's an issue.

I didn't count these.: vapcaps, Hi's, UDs, milaanas. I don't see them as backups. They all look so different so they feed my need for variety. But yes I have several of each of these.

Yeah I think the vapcap made this a much more common 'problem'

I did have two SB Jrs for awhile just in case someone combusted in one but I decided the SB Jr would just not be for sharing and got rid of the second one.

Edit: oh, wait, I totally have multiple Underdogs too. No justification there. I just 'needed' them.

Noah's ark requires 2 of every kind - u need even more if u have several vape stashes at different locations, so if u need to justify having even more eg get a cabin in the woods...
Actually i'd love to see my older plenty (10years now, serial nr under 200) die, so i could try to use it Supreme-style , but not much hope - till now optical there is 0 difference to a new one...

I stock up on those things that would derail me vaping experience if they were gone.

Late at night I sometimes like to gather them around me and tell them softly that they are all my children.

This is true for me, but so far only in relation to Vapcaps. Cuz well...isn't that the point? But other than that I look to complement my collection and add in places I don't have. Next for me is the Vaponic cuz I want to experience what some of the OG Vapcap users did with glass. And then I should (should is an interesting word to use as it relates to VAS) look at a log vape of some kind. And then I'd like to replace my Alternate with a Fury 2 or whatever is as good or better later in the year.

I own a home outside the country where I spend time each year and where until recently you couldn't buy a vape. So I have several vapes that I brought there as new and wouldn't smell in case I got searched. So I have dupes of three vapes.

One of the problems though with the OP's thinking is that the vapes keep getting better and better, sometimes with regular small improvements such as have been made to the Crafty and the Arizer Extreme Q and sometimes with new models like the Arizer Air and Solo IIs. As well, new vapes keep coming out that have improved convection heating and capsule loading, like the MV1. I save up to buy the newest and bestest, depending on the innovative aspect of capitalism to improve my little stoned life.

As a MET (master electronics tech) I collect consumable parts for things I like.

Example: for an e-Nano I’d have spare heaters and power supplies and stems. Or a way ro repair each piece.

In other words I have a fuckton of spare parts.

I committed to vaporizing about 7 months ago, and have experimented with it for over a decade. Until I found this forum I wasted every dollar I spent on vaporizers. Every fucking penny. And what I discovered is what you speak to @Polarbearboy. There is constant movement in the vaporization device market. We are at the very beginning of something that will continue to evolve at breakneck speed for, IMO, several years. There is tremendous movement at the big factory level, mid-size level, and a growing small/craft level of vape manufacturers.

For me I look at the various situations I find myself wanting to vaporize and what vaporizers best meet those particular needs. I tend to vaporize solo throughout the day most often and occasionally in very small groups in social settings.

My Alternate with a full, tightly packed load is perfect for a 4 minute pass the bong around session. My Milaana is perfect for a relaxed nighttime or end of day solo session while I watch something, and my Vapcaps are perfect for pretty much anything and everything.

I wouldn't use my Milaana to pass around in a group but will in a duo setting with someone I trust; too steep a learning curve otherwise. And once I learned how my Alternate worked I rarely use it solo anymore. Not unless I want to get really shit faced; I'm just not built for a 3-4 minute solo session; I like to sip so on-demand is better for me and both the Milaana and VC let me do that. And if I'm out and about I tend to fall back on 510 thread pens with high quality CO2 extracted THC oil-those are still the most discrete, IMO.

VAS is okay to me. First, because if you can afford it, you're actually investing in a pretty cool new technology. Secondly, as my tiny collection shows-they're so different, and there are everyday vapes and specialty vapes. I think how good a vape is depends a lot on how it's being used. It's not always the vaporizers fault when things don't work out.

I expect to get more Vapcaps, and similar devices, as I know I'd like the Nonavong and I'd like to get an Omni XL with carbon stem because it'd be fucking beautiful, and if not another Milaana another on-demand wood device like @Bravesst Lil Bud, and upgrade my handheld digital. I like having backups-I'm a professional guitarist; I believe in both variety and redundancy. One provides inspiration and the other security.

I'm ordering a Vaponic at the end of the month and getting a Cocobolo Nonavong body for my Omnivap because I prefer to use that dry through a bong, and then I'm going to sit tight for a while. As I evaluate my collection I see the holes. I need a desktop, and given my Vapcap love, EdsTnT makes the most sense. I need to upgrade my digital handheld, and right now the Fury 2 is in the lead but that could change.

Ah...it's a good time for VAS

I prefer to have a different vape as my backup. That way it's not just a backup, but a switch-up for when I get used to a vape signature. For example, I'd rather have an Evo and a LSV than 2 Evo's. And I like my backup/switch-up vape to be more durable than the first stringer. I'm not guilty of owning two identical vapes for backup purposes, but I'm pretty sure I'm as guilty as anyone at having lots of backup options all the time.

I'm super guilty of back up VAS. I like to have a few of my favorite vape (or two) on hand. I don't feel right if I only have just one...
