Brother, could you please let us know why you changed your opinion? I'm bout to make a purchase of a "high power" vape soon. Currently my thoughts are jumping between the EVO, Tubo Evi, MV1 and some other contented, but these are the main ones.

I also see that you've owned have the Tubo before, mind comparing?

Best regards
k

Well I absolutely couldn't stand my tubo. So I can't really compare because the ghost blows the tubo away imo. Something just clicked while using it and was very satisfied. Later after I decided to keep it I had a horrible session with some trees that I thought were dry but I guess weren't dry enough. I didn't like my evo. It just never got me where I wanted to be and was a bitch to clean the heater after trates. I've never had a mighty just because its plastic no matter what anyone tells me about how safe it is, idc and I don't recommend plastic anything with heat. Otherwise I would have just bought a mighty and called it a day cuz it just works.

I am cuz this device is very promising. But there are like 500 variables into getting a good session.

Edit: I took the bud I had and stuck inbetween some paper over night and boom! If you have the slightest bit of moisture it effects vapor production for sure. Sooo interesting. Really does suck that people have had so many issues with theirs. The only reason I was having issues was user error though. Took me mayb 50 crucibles to get it right haha. Good thing I had bought an oz of shake for 37 bux haha.
Is there a way to make a water adapter for this and has anyone modded any screens for the crucible yet? Thanks

The EVO is amazing and super versatile for a desktop vape, but I also potentially want an MV1 to have something cordless. I have been finding myself out more where I need something cordless and my EVO is unable to handle that. I also own a Grasshopper but even with a performance front end it gets to hot for the way I smoke and does not make my session comfortable. Additional I love the idea of the bowls outside of the vape for preloads.

In my opinion between an EVO and a MV1 I would really think about what you want out of a vape as far as desktop vs cordless. If you do not need a cordless vape I can personally say the EVO is amazing and you will not be disappointed. I have not yet pulled the plug on he MV1 since I have heard complaints about mechanical sound when heating and no android app. Waiting for confirmation of initial bugs gone before purchase :)

Note: I also do not smoke concentrates in my flower vapes. (My EVO is Flower Only and so will my MV1 if I decide to pull the plug)

Best portable hands down! I got over the crucible thing real quick. I was testing all sorts of temps and the manual calibration. Combusted one time which is cool cuz it just shows the power this offers. I like that I can just load up 3 -4 crucibles and be more than good with that. I was vaping a strain for a month in the GS, solo, and fp, I can't say any of those made me feel my strain with less weed more than the mv1. Once all these lil things pass this vape will be the top of most people's checklists. I am a heavy user who usually needs a good amount f material but that's not the case with mv1 :). This is exactly what I wanted the milaana to be

Well 4 months in and the honeymoon stage is over.

The MV1 for me has been an exceptional vape. Taste, smoothness and potency is all there and delivered exceptionally well.

I think in the 4 months of using this vape and reading through the forum I'm able to identify a few things that get in the way of consistent performance.

1. Heat Sink - Either the top piece lifted up, its assembled incorrectly or it needs to be cleaned.

2. Crucible - The lid needs to be cleaned or it shifted as the door closed which happens every 50 crucibles as my best guess of how often it may happen.

3. Material - I saved this for last as I finally figured it out when I received a crucible dispenser. Your material needs to be DRY. My material goes from sealed jar to sealed tube until I received a dispenser which is not sealed and allows for further drying. I even thought battery life was compromised but it turns out to be moisture content. This explains great effects every time but inconsistent vapor production that some are seeing. This is my most fussy vape when it comes to moisture content as a variable for vapor production NOT effects.

Ive enjoyed learning the MV1 and my experience continues to be very positive with this vape.

Almost there...
Battery on the fast charger and i am going to leave some bud out tonight to dry out.
Will be testing tomorrow again.
If it only works well with dry bud that may be a game changer for me...
I like to throw some herb in a vape and get instant gratification with clouds! LOL!
Will post up some experiences later tomorrow!

Hoping that works for you. Def a game changer for me :). Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Hoping my dispo has a different strain of shake tomorrow, on a budget :( times are tough ATM for me and my finances. Trying to make things right. Mv1 will help with using less material :)

A ghost MV2 without crucibles or beep sound will be an insta buy for me. These 2 things keep it away from me (i sold my OG Solo because of the buzz) But these 2 little things will be soon fixed if we are lucky

but is not the ghost mv1also plastic as the mighty... what is the difference...

hmmm since I own a flowerpot showerhead... I need a good portable... I have two grasshoppers (I maybe will sell one, as i am nowadays mostly use the flowerpot at home - less air restriction)... the grasshopper is great but to get satisfying hits I have to use a bubbler which is sometimes not possible if on the way or in a club and so on... so I am in search of a new portable... also on my radar is the splinter from rbt and the i heat 510 catridge heater from alan toasty tops... also the tube evic... owned a milaana but it was not what I am looking for... any suggestions... recommandations...

I don't know if there is any plastic on the device. Plus if there is it's minimal and has no bearing on where I'm inhaling heat from. The whole mighty is plastic. That's a big difference. It's like drinking from a glass cup that has plastic on the cup but never touches water, that's not a problem. Then there is the plastic cup and the water is touching it while you drink. Plastic is garbage, medical grade or not. I mean they found 24k plus chemicals in our bottled water but we still use plastics I don't get it. I personally hate plastic but to each there own with the material. Get a splinter. That's my last portable :) @btka

It was the silicone taste for me that put the kai-bosh on the MV1 for me. That and then the low battery life, uses to much flower and does not extract evenly at all..too much stirring, crucible needs total redesign, and the latch button for the door wore out to where it would barely keep the door latched closed.

Other than that.....yea it was totally awesome to have a portable I could actually use without water....and have great first 2 hit taste and power......

If they eliminate those problems I had.....I will be on board with a new design.

Damn. Sucks :( haven't had any silicon taste in both units I have. I'm using 2-3 crucibles getting 3-5 draws and I'm a heavy user. Can't say any portable other than a sticky brick has gotten me as high as I get with the mv1. I literally got higher than I did off the GS fp and solo with the same strain I had been vaping for a month in the mv1. Crucible design is fine imo, no uneven loads and I've never had to stir. Low battery life? Def not on mine. It last longer than any other portable I've had other than a solo 2. Sucks that you had those problems but all are fixable at least :)

Silicone is a kind of plastic you know. Just a different resin polymer...

This is good to know. Does it have the same make up that causes disruption in the endocrine system? maleates and fumarates is the issue. Thanks for the heads up. Fuck now that's got me all twisted since it's in the air path :(. Sometimes I wonder if these devices would be more problematic with the tech than just smoking. Between materials, Bluetooth and being connected to the power grid they all have an effect on our health in a negative aspect. I just wonder even though I won't smoke cuz it's jut disgusting tasting and smelling

@Zow237

I dried some buds overnight between paper and ground them up using my SCS.
Grind came out reasonably fine due to dryness of buds.
Loaded up a crucible and started...
170 - 3 hits, first 2 were 15 seconds long and the last one was 10 seconds.
Awesome flavor and great clouds for the temp!!
185 - Same routine as 170
Awesome flavor for 1st hit and then it tapered off, nice clouds!
200 - Same routine
Taste was done but no popcorn taste, clouds still big just last hit was lighter.

Going to do a crucible at 200 from start!
This vape has a very unique signature! Gets you hammered off 1 crucible!

Ghost MV1 requires DRY bud for best results!
Thanks for letting me know!!

EDIT: 200 crucible from start!
Great flavor and clouds for 2 hits then the flavor diminished drastically.
2 more hits with good clouds and slight roasted taste, not bad.
Last hit was okay with a small cloud and roasty flavor.
ABV was a pretty even tan color with some green flecks, after a stir.
Effects are great!

Yesssss!!! That's what I wanted to hear. I knew if you jut dried your buds out youd be impressed :). I know I am very impressed. I'm going to use one unit for trates and the other for flower :). It's weird though I did notice an increase in vapor from the GS as well with dryer buds.

@Zow237: well, at first I somehow assumed silicone would be free of plasticizers and additives. But then I stumbled on the "handbook of plasticizers", and sure enough, there's a whole chapter dedicated to what you can add to your silicone to alter its properties.

Knowing you can add them doesn't mean they are always present though, but what worried me is that if I recall correctly many of the usual suspects where in the list, including phtalates etc. We managed to partly ban some of these molecules in Europe, as there is now very clear scientific evidence that they have negative effects, despite being labelled "food safe" for all these years.

I have strictly no idea what formulation they used in this vape, and we must not discuss health / safety aspects in the device threads per the forum rules. But we can discuss taste (and smell by extension) and I've read enough user reports in this thread telling they could smell that silicone to know that this vape is unfortunately not for me. I'm the equivalent of a smoke detector but for silicone! :p

I think it's as simple as water impacts the entropy of vaporisation for the heavier more hardy molecules (like cannabinoids).
Basically the mass of water absorbs energy, and then that energy is converted into the expanding molecules of steam. When there's less water mass, then less energy is utilised in creating steam and you get a more rapid volatisation of hydrocarbons. This causes more potent/concentrated vapour and increased efficacy.
So, with its noisy PWM circuitry and optimised algorithms, the Ghost is best matched with extra dry herb because it is designed to use power efficiently. It can be overwhelmed, and there's no sensor to detect that more power draw is required to combat the loss of energy (either to juicy fresh/uncured bud, or if there is a compromise in the airflow in the device). The coil is driving everything and relies on transferring X energy to a known chamber size.

Nearly every vape causes an overabundance of energy dispersed unevenly, so for many devices moisture content is almost desirable as it can buffer the intensity and lessen surface charring.

It's weird the Ghost can't dry buds with just a toke, leading to a big second hit. I'm sure it can do this with a certain lower moisture level, but I can't say I've ever measured moisture content with cannabis. So how would most users know. Dry =\= dry.
I've had plenty of experience measuring industrial poppies, which gives me some reference of spongyness, but equipment is expensive and big pharma is only just getting into cannabis now, very early days.
Perhaps dispenseries have this measurement, I'd guess it's done pretty shabbily though.
The only reason I was measuring moisture for crops was for large scale powderised storage to prevent fire risk (16% analysed cut off which is very, very dry, 18% is malleable, 20+% is squishy, best I saw was 8% and it could be dusted by hand) most bud I get is definitely malleable to squishy. I'd have to dry nugs purposefully to get them to crumble. Obviously it varies, but it's interesting to consider.

As an engineered device, the Ghost is fairly considered. However I am also never using one because of the unknown dyed siloxane material in the airpath. It's likely not deadly, but people detecting it for several heat cycles makes it seem uncured and totally undesirable. Vaporisation is keyly about health risk aversion for me, but it introduces a thoroughly understudied complexity and has birthed an unregulated market.

I've asked for info and heard nothing, it really bothers me that they just claim it isn't in the vapour path when it is in the air-path and the vapour path. Their stance on off-gassing videos was also unsavoury. Health risks aside too, it's just low quality. Like their PWM chips. I've already veered away from platinum cured, smooth bored siloxane whip, not because it's risky but because it isn't suitable and requires occasional replacement. For the asking price and with an android flagship, no thanks to the Ghost.
I do like where vapes are going, these dynamics without skimping on the details would be absolutely awesome. I'll keep watching.

Ghost Herbal Concepts should bring out an interchangeable 18650 device, with onboard intuitive controls, a proper chamber with suitable insulation, better form factor (stable standing up), included fast charger, secure airpath and top shelf components. Without those things, to my mind it's lacking in too many ways to justify the price.

If others are content with its features, and can manage feeding it ideal dankness, it sounds like a great time! Enjoy it and keep us posted :)
