hey i was trying to dig up information about how you guys use the glad press n seal bags with the extreme vape so you can close it... but how?

Do you guys just make bags the same size as the regular bag and attach it to the glass piece or what?

I'm sorry if this has been beaten to death but this thread is like 72 pages and I can't read through it all.

I'm trying to find a way to seal the regular bags that the extreme vape comes with but I don't know of a simple way.

At this point it's the only thing that bothers me about this vape. I've used it frequently and is by far the greatest thing to smoke out of haha
If you speaking of a simple cap for the bag use press and seal works just press and it seals
I easier method is to cut about an inch or so off the whip and use it to join the bag and the fat end if the glass stir tool together. This will act as a cap

Hello everyone, new here. I read the whole thread and noticed people keep reffering people to read backwards for certain things, I quoted some good post's that had pictures while reading so maybe if this gets bigger people can link to this one. Just hope it isn't against the rules.

I figured out the screen thing! You need to stick your finger in the screen and push it to the side so it sticks over the edge a little. Then it will stay in the tube due to more friction.

Did my photography classes from high school come in handy?

What does everyone think? :D
PS. The fan is a Delta Electronics (Made in China) Model: PFB0412EHN 12V .72A Brush less, appears to use a 2 pin connector not unfamiliar in the Computer world. I did not have a metric ruler so coudn't measure the fan, but eyeballing it tells me it's about 30-40mm.

Vaporizing Salvia
NSXTACY said:
I just had a good idea to be able to vaporize salvia effectively with the extreme.
What you can do is put a little bit of ground salvia extract (i use 20X purple sticky) on the brass mesh screen right on top of the ceramic heater (where you put the cyclone bowl) , not in the actual cyclone bowl. It will be closer to the heat source so it should be very close to the temp of what the digital display reads (250C) and as most know salvia's chemicals are vaporized at around 250C. :brow: All you have to do is put enough ground up salvia on the screen to give you your desired effects (experiment), you might have to smash it up into a more solid piece so the salvia will not go through the screen and into your heater. You could also take the little mesh bowl that you put in your glass whip joint and put it upside down over the salvia that's sitting on the brass screen so the ground up salvia will stay put closer to the heat source when blowing a bag on a high speed and keep the bowl cleaner. I would be very careful vaporizing salvia first time though, ive heard its tricky to dose. Try very small amounts first time and i recommend using the bag and fill the bag with about 2 lung full's of vapor and shutting off the vape or putting it on sleep so there will be no risk of fire if you knock over the vape under the influence of sally D. :uhoh: :ko::o

I will be trying this the next chance i get (someday this week) and i will post if it works or not. If i am correct this will work perfectly and be way better than smoking it! But you will have to experiment with dose to get the desired effects, that is very important if you don't want to freak out because sally is not something to underestimate. :disgust:

But i have smoked 20X salvia before many times through my bong. I have only gotten minor effects, no hallucinations, just very detached and alienated, euphoria, laughter, and the pulling effect (salvia gravity is what they call it). Salvia is a amazing drug, and i love it. It is not something i do that much because it is just soo weird and sometimes scary. But i have also noticed that salvia really gets you to appreciate reality, and how amazing life is and that we shouldn't take it for granted. Not too mention it is a wonderful drug for drug addicts and it heals the soul. Oh and salvia is less toxic then vitamin B6, so there is no worry of toxicity or overdosing. But be careful. :ninja:

treated myself last night and vaped a nice elbow pack of kif with a thin layer of herb thrown in as well. cranked the extreme to 250C to make sure it all got vaped good. Even with 10-15 second draws the vapor just kept coming until I was so high I forgot if I should be sucking or blowing on the whip.. that's when I figured I better stop before I accidentally break something, but the vapor was still being produced. The picture is very close up on a granite counter, you can judge the size of the duff by the size of the granite specks.

Many fuckers have been asking how to set up the elbow method with the Extreme / V-Tower. Here is how I do it.

1.
th_dscf2836-qpr.jpg
First grind up your bud finer than this. For some reason my grinder could not get this particular bud any finer. This is a perfectly measured amount, I packed it first and then emptied it out to show quantity.

2.
th_dscf2839-qpr.jpg
Pack it in just tight enough to not fall out when placed into the cyclone bowl. Leave your cyclone bowl empty unless you are showing off and want to blitz some buddies. Suck on the whips mouthpiece and the air flow should feel slightly restricted, no restriction = pack a bit more bud and a bit tighter, too much restriction = give the elbow a quick stir and re pack a little looser.

3.
th_dscf2840-qpr.jpg
Here is the nicely toasted remains, I really hit this elbow hard for photo purposes, with the last 2 hits at 260c and as you can see there are a few pieces that are too dark.

I understand some people like thicker/more concentrated hits, something that can be achieved by 'packing the bowl'. The younger crowd and bong users often like a thicker/more concentrated (and smokey) hit.

That can be easily achieved with the Extreme and V-Tower, it's probably something I should of mentioned before, because the method I'm about to describe is very popular in some circles and extremely popular with those who collect 'pollen' in their (Wicca) Kif Box.

Instead of filling the bowl as you normally would, leave it empty, turn the heat up a few degrees higher than normal, finely grind your herbs, (or use 'pollen powder' from a kif box) and then fill/pack the (dome shaped) screen that sits in the elbow shaped glass piece. You'll be surprised how much you can pack in there, now set the elbow on the bowl as you normally would, let it 'sit and percolate' a few minutes and inhale, that will give you a VERY thick, concentrated, monster size hit . If you're using Pollen from a Wicca Box you're getting a super tasty, super concentrated amount of the finest part of the plant so you can imagine the effect! Blowing balloons with the screen packed is my preference, as the concentrated/thick vapor can be harsh; the balloon helps greatly with that giving the air time to cool.

I tried this out earlier tonight and got rocked! The first hit was super thick, the second was thick, then the third and fourth were about done. I didn't pack the screen all the way full, but left a little concave at the top. Afterward I emptied the cap into the bowl and it looked to be about half of what I normally use in the bowl. This may be the thickest AND most efficiently I've used the Extreme!

Oh and I had broken the glass heater cover and got a part from a glassblower that worked in the meantime until I got the replacement and it was a bit too long. That's why the bowl is sitting so high it usually goes in about halfway.

I've made it a bit easier on myself to collect the honey by just cutting of a piece of tubing and using a whip mouthpiece like this:
IMG_0088.jpg

Afterwards you just use a screw with a stick or whatever and youve cleaned most of the buildup in your tube within a minute.

Also about the glass heater cover... Mine broke a little bit more than a week ago and I received a replacement within a week. Since I live in the Netherland and they had to ship it from CA service was really good, even got a few free screens and a stirring tool. I broke mine myself by being baked and dropping the damn thing. I think it mustve fell right on the bowl, breaking the cover.

It wasn't that hard to replace the cover, but I think the instructions could've been a bit better. There was one step in the instruction where I was really wondering what they wanted me to do, I'm talking about

Step 7:

Instructions said:
1./ Remove 4 rubber feet on bottom of base.
2./ Unscrew the 4 screws located under each rubber foot.
3./ Remove bottom base cover.
4./ Locate 2 screws only, one on either side of the circuit board (do not remove any screws that secure down the circuit boards).
Remove these 2 screws that secure the stainless steel cylinder down, and remove the cylinder (*Note: if it is tough to remove the
cylinder - wiggle the cylinder back and forth until it becomes loose and comes off - be careful not to touch the circuit board to prevent
any damage).
5./ When you have the cylinder off you will see the ceramic heater. Remove the long screw that secures the glass heater cover and
remove any broken glass particles by gently blowing canned air and/or turning it upside down and gently shake it so any glass
will fall out (*Note: when shaking the unit so any glass particles fall out - hold the ceramic heating element to prevent any damage).
6./ Once it is all cleaned out, place the new replacement glass heater cover in place and secure it with the long bottom screw/pin
(Note: make sure the holes in the cradle and glass heater cover are lined up to prevent breaking/cracking the glass). Make sure
before installing the new heater cover to put the insulation tube around the glass heater cover first.
7./ Now screw in the top 4 support screws evenly which center and support/holds the glass heater cover (*Note: do not screw in the 4
support screws too tight to prevent damage to the glass heater cover).

8./ Place the cylinder back on - line up the holes in the cylinder with the holes in the base. Position the cylinder top hole so it is
centered with the top of the glass heater cover. Secure the 2 screws that hold the cylinder in place.
9./ Place/center the base cover back on and screw in the 4 screws and place the 4 rubber feet back on.
Luckily I got an awnser from arizer pretty quickly so I looked around and finally found the cup shaped thing they talked about (it got stuck at the top of the cylinder, it took me quite a while to find actually :D)
If you have one of the newer models the metal band and the 4 top support screws have been replaced with a cup shaped centering/top support - that is placed around the insulated tube on the glass heater cover - Please advise.

As to the "cardboard rectangular piece", this piece is an insulated heater support which is located underneath the ceramic heating element. You may not have to replace this piece but you will have it for back up if you dont' use it.

Please let me know if you require any further help.
This is the sheet of metal and the cardboard piece in case anyone is wondering:
MunkeyBals

So as you see, mine broke because I was baked and clumzy... I haven't had it break because of the glass/cover sticking together because you can easily get them loose by just slightly rocking it a little bit back and forth, it think it even says so in the manual. But I might be able to understand why with some people it breaks quite easily. Here's a pic of the glass heater covers bottom, the place where the metal pin goes through:
IMG_0099.jpg

As you can see it's quite a vulnerable spot that I think cannot take a lot of force. Luckily Arizer was nice enough to send me 2 so I have a spare in case something goes wrong. I really was lucky my vape still work even though I broke it :ko:

Using the unit atm btw so I hope this post somewhat makes sense :p

Lmao thanks. Still waiting for my E.
Damn, waiting longer for the eCheck to clear than the item will take to ship. >.>
I emailed Kevin and he said he can't ship it before it clears, even if I have a good eBay rep. (buying from him on eBay.)

Hey, about using the elbow pack ... I can't get thru a whole elbow in one session ... depending on the strain, I can only get 1 or maybe 2 hits before I'm too vaked. ;)

Anyway, so are you supposed to dump, stir, repack between uses? Or can I just use it that way until it's all toasty?

with elbow packs I ALWAYS stir the bowl between balloon fills (or 2-3 big whip hits) give you more 'fresh' surface to vape...instead of one spot that gets the 'hot spot' of the E's heat

I was reading the PD thread, and would leaving this unit on indefinitely be harmful to it's longevity? Or be a possible fire hazard?
Also, what is it's power consumption (I'm sure an easy search will show, nvm... to lazy to backspace, I'd rather just keep typing.)

I have left my unit on overnight on more than one occasion. With no issues Matter of fact pretty much when im using it it stays on unless Im done. (Hours at a time)
In regards to the longevity of the unit the heater has a lifetime warranty everything else a two year warranty so i couldn't see extended periods hurting it all

I am talking Long ass periods, I read this whole thread (and the old one) without seeing any mention on the subject. But with the warranty, I don't see much reason not to other than fire hazards or power cost.

Heyyyyyyyyy Hennessy!!!!!! Good to see ya, dude! So, do you just stir it in the pack or do you dump it then repack it?

dumping it out is the best method. Also a simple paper note card works wonders as a surface to dump the herb on

and to the dudes talking about leaving the unit on 24/7...there's a reason the company made three different setting on the unit for automatic shutoff. Remember why innovation helps us :brow:

Yea, but I am lazy.

If you take a piece of paper and fold it in the middle, then the crease makes it really easy pour it back into the bowl. Always keep my bud on a sheet of white printer paper.

Do those glass on glass elbow pieces that come with fit on a glass on glass bong?

Good to know. I'll go see if it's quality in a few days, let 'yall know. (nvm, i'll just use the higher grade medical tubing my father has for his cancer.) Made a nice homemade vape while waiting for my e.

they are a 18 gauge. it will fit some but not all. i know most illadelphs come with a slide that accepts a 14 gauge. i actually just saw an adapter on vapeworld to fit a 14 gauge. here is the link.
http://www.vapeworld.com/vaporizer-parts/extreme-vaporizer-parts/14mm-water-pipe-adapter

ill probably end up getting one just to try it out. i have been waiting for something like this ever since i got my E.

illadelph,

Ia! Ia! Vapor Fthagn!
I had too buy a 14mm adaptor for my E. picked on up for 12 bucks at my local head shop... looks just like the one they sell on Gotvape.com (which also sells 18mm, 12mm, and 9mm whip Bong attachments, as far as I can tell most places only sell 14mm)
my friend got several for his E from a science supply warehouse, for about 8 bucks each. but those ones are straight shots instead of bent elbows like the E has.

DevoTheStrange,

DevoTheStrange

Ia! Ia! Vapor Fthagn!
he only has a straight 14... doesnt fit the extreme bowl... have too get a reduction piece...
the straight 14s he has are very similar too the one that is sold at vapeworld...

and now that I think of it... would be pretty nice too just get a 14 to 18 adaptor... would be a bit long, but nice and straight. Ill look into that

DevoTheStrange,

Mark

Yea, a longer piece would give killer elbow hits. I'd pay 20 bucks for that with shipping.

Hey guys, just ordered my extreme and I can't wait. I had originaly ordered the regular vtower but vaporoutlet dropped the ball and I no longer wanted to order from them. I ended up buyin my extreme off of the 'bay for $262. It's funny this always happens to me, I go into purchase something within a certain budget and end up going way over it! I've read the first 11 pages of this thread and the wiki, I am soo stoked! I've been using a voodoo (similar to the vapir one) for the last month with pretty successful results actually! Sure there is leaking and I hate the design but it worked alright considering it was free. My buddy gave it to me because he couldn't get it to work right. When he gave it to me I couldn't figure it out either so it spent almost 2 years in the closet before I gave it a second chance! Now I'm just waiting for the extreme like a kid waiting for x-mass! I just wanted drop in to say thanks for all the helpfully info!
