If I wasn't clear enough, the no was meant that it wasn't too much to ask for.

I like the Air battery design because I can see myself buying at least 4 and be able to use for days without charging, but for me the ArGo seems to be the better choice, and since the Solo II battery is so good, I don't see myself running out of power before I recharge again.
Air must be mostly for those who prefer having multiple batteries, but don't mind stealth, at least this is how I see it.

So with the ArGo out there...remind me why we need the Air?

That brings up a fun question, will Ed make a stem for the ArGo? The volume is sure to be less than Solo/Air (at least for now.....), but he's also made other stems for less popular vapes?

It would call for different sizes in the metal parts of course, but I think a Blackwood, or my personal favorite Bog Oak, stem would be mighty classy atop an ArGo.......and it would 'fit right in'.

Please @Ed's TnT? We'll give you money if you do.....

Mosh.... I was not sure in what context you were asking about the need of the Argo. So that is why I ended my reply with a ?

I do not think it is just size being the difference. It is more so it's use scenario ability which can be very different from user to user. Like myself, I would not use 99% of the vapes out there without going through water. So for me being an Air 1 and 2 user, I do not see anything much I would get from the Argo. But someone that has no issues with direct draws off such short vapor paths might find the Argo tons better to use because they have that option to use on the go, which is 10 times better than an Air.

Seems like that is the main difference to look at when you make a choice of the Arizer products currently out now.

And yes...no matter which one you might go for between the Air and Argo.....no matter how you use them, having the ability to switch out batteries on the fly so quick is such a +++

Hey hey, never heard of this unit you. Yes I have done pieces in the last for less popular vapes when I had a bit more time but nowadays it' tough, picked up a few more dealers in just the last couple months and WoodScents is gaining traction which did get a great review today. I'm not saying i wont, never say that, will say I will give it some thought. Someone hit me up send me some glass let' talk about it and go from there maybe.

Load 'er up and ride again, cowboy! Ride hard enough and you still catch up.......

Sometimes the reader can make up for some of the shortfall, but best to not depend on that I think?

FWIW I'm sensing a difference between ArGo and Solo/Air. I think it 'starts up' slower? It might be my imagination of course, anyone else notice this? TIA

So as your one of the few folks i recognize in here still, what do you recommend to a long time original solo user? I was on the solo from 2012 to 2015 then had a pax 2 for a bit.

Im in the market for a new portable vape, was thinking of the Solo 2 but the argo seems nice too. Suggestions?

I dab. A lot.
I would say that comparing the IQ to the Argo is a great comparison for discussion.....and you could add the Fury2 to that group as well.

I think @ohmygodimsohigh did a great job on the Argo and Fury2 reviews...got a lot out of them and found those vids to be very useful informational wise.

I liked his ArGo review as well. It really touched on some things that I was curious about as well.

The vapor quality would have to be considerably better than an Arizer Air to be on my radar.

I used my Air the other night and it was just a miserable experience compared to the extraction power of modern vaporizer designs.

Faces can change a lot for sure. This is good I think. It mostly means folks came and found the information they wanted? Or at least wondered off if they were wasting their time.....

Sadly, some have left us and can no longer be here for many reasons, they are missed.

You ask a very interesting question I think. But I think a bit more details are in order? What is it you liked and what 'needs changing'? Tough list to make I know.

Let's go the other way, today you can get a Solo I upgraded from yours at very attractive prices. They now have less restriction (vent change) and are proven performer you can count on. They still do an excellent job, very similar in results to the rest of the line.

What would you like to change from there and how much is it worth to you? You can upgrade to Solo II (and I like mine just fine) and get 50% more sessions per charge in a reshaped body (more oval now) with upgraded display that allows specific degree settings rather than steps and the battery meter function is less precise now.

Air and ArGo offer smaller packages with shorter battery life (go figure.....) but compensate with ability to swap 18650s 'on the go'. Where ArGo makes some compromises to get smaller stem size, Air does not. It performs on the suck end exactly like Solo for practical purposes.

So, old friend, what's your pleasure? What would you like to change/improve? Solo I has a lot going for it......

Fun question.

Argg I just bought the Air II from an online retailer and it's enroute. I spent weeks researching vapes and had it narrowed down to the Solo II and Air II. I chose the Air II because it was smaller, had interchangeable batteries, and similar vapor production according to reviews.

And then today I discovered the Argo's existence while casually browsing 420vapezone's YouTube channel for desktop vapes! Versus the Air II, it has the same interchangeable battery which I wanted but it's even smaller in size. So it comes down to vapor production.

To the early adopters: how good does it vape? From the reviews I've seen it's very similar in vapor production to the Air II. I asked Arizer in an email and they said the vapor production was "comarable to the Air II." The only difference I see is the smaller bowls.

I'm leaning towards getting the Argo and figuring out a way to get my money back on the Air II. The website I bought from charges $15 plus 15% restocking fee plus I have to pay to ship it back. That comes to a loss of about $70 which I can't afford. So maybe I'll try and flip it on kijiji or buy and sell section.

Gentle Friends,

A source of caps for the smaller stems for ArGo for your consideration:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EYG9042/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Not only are they slightly smaller (enough to grip) but longer (about 3/4 inch) than the half inch ones I use as a cover when installed. These are softer (able so slip over the rim on the MP end easily) and grip quite well (zero chance of a 'pocket accident'). They are low temp material so definitely the stem should be cool before putting the cap on again. They look like this in service:

Regards to all.

Welcome aboard @Bluecliff. Sorry you are having problems. Selling the Air 2 may very well be the less expensive option.

If this is your first vape powered by 18650 cells? You will enjoy the convenience.

Just trying you give you a little piece of mind instead of buyer's remorse.

You mention you did your homework so the Air II should be a good vape for you. It checks all your boxes so to speak. You're really only looking at a smaller unit with the ArGo.

I do not own other Arizer products but after watching dozens of videos on the air and solo I cannot remember anyone saying the vapor was hot or harsh or irritating.

This is the case with the ArGo. More of the stem is in contact with heat and the shorter stem doesn't help.

I was reading about using this thing with water and thought that kind of defeats the purpose of this vape- it's stealth. After using it again, it needs to be used through water lol.

I will probably give this ArGo to a friend that is using a cheap vape. Otherwise I fear it will just sit and collect dust.

Don't get me wrong, it's a nice little vape, just not for me.

CALL @ohmygodimsohigh HE'S GOT TONS OF VAPES

While we're on the comparison train:
I have been holding out on getting a new portable (I sold the Crafty:doh:) for the Boundless Tera. Removable 18650, compact design, quick heat up time. Tera is not released yet, so only assumptions/projections could be made... interesting nonetheless. Anyone have comparison thoughts?

Let's please keep the "comparison train" from running through model-specific threads. Comparison discussion should happen in "Ask FC".

Thanks.

I'm interested in the sliding function on the ArGo - it's early, but any issues with the slider or it's button mechanism gunking up? Smooth function? Does not look like it does not need to be depressed very far?

It's such a little button, I wonder if the mechanism is similar to a battery door that wears down if you slide it open and closed enough? Clicky fidget toy? Might be a positive for some... negative for others.

Reviews all look like the battery life is fantastic. It's sure sleek.

Can you charge the ArGo batteries while they are in the unit itself, or do you use an external wall charger?

Yep, sure can. ArGo uses a standard USB 'micro' connector. Does a great job, I use mine like it's permanently installed. Seems you can depend on a solid six sessions and with a good 'gas gauge' you can easily plan your recharges. The 'swap in a fresh 18650' option is always there of course.

Fun choices, hard to make a really bad one from that list.

How is the draw resistance of the Argo compared to the Arizer Air?

You should probably look four posts above yours for the 'Official Word' on such posts (they belong in 'Ask FC' rather than cluttering up this thread).

FWIW, it's been discussed here a couple of times already. The answer is there, in earlier posts and is discussed there. ArFo is lower, but that might not be all that useful (the discussions are worth it IMO), I'd either use the awkward search of simply skim through the relatively small number of posts.

Confusing, isn't it?

Vapor concierge
It’s only been 2 days, but I can tell already that this one’s gonna pass the reach test with flying colors.

I’ve always liked Arizer vapor, and most of the things the OG Solo left me wanting are here in the ArGo - better air flow, full temp and session controls, replaceable batteries, very pocketable and travels well with the stem installed. Because the tech is old I would like to see the price lower, but when you compare it to similarly priced units, it fits right in there.

Only three things I’d still like to see are haptic feedback, a session timer and quicker heat up time. But less than 90 seconds is doable for me. This is a pretty complete portable vape.

The stems are a little thinner than the original ones and feel slightly more fragile, but I’ve been almost recklessly mashing the stem into the unit to test it out and it always seats perfectly. With the top extended, the glass is protected and only a direct hit will give me problems.

I’ve landed on 405F as my preferred ‘one temp session’ temp to balance clouds and flavor in Arizer portables, but this one needs to be a little lower. Not sure how much lower, but I’ll figure that out. I think the longer, narrower chamber heats it all up a little more or quicker or something. But one way or another, I’m gonna like a slightly lower temp on this one. Will start on 400 and 395 for starters.

If you want an Arizer portable and are fine with the price, this is the one I would recommend.
